What they fail to mention, is these super bright flashlights can only operate for a couple minutes at their maximum output. Then you have to wait a long time for the flashlight to cool down before the flashlight can reach its maximum output again. It all boils down to heat management, and there has been no major breakthroughs to deal with this problem. There is a way to achieve better heat distribution for longer run times, but everyone has failed to realize what's involved to do this. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but have a good idea how this could be achieved.
BCNEWSVIDEO the new X9 is supposed to last 10 minutes on Turbo, then step down to something that's still incredibly bright, i forget how much, but i think it's around 9,000? And the SR95 doesn't step down from high, I've owned the SR95UT for a couple years and never had it step down in brightness from high. Excellent heat dissipation.
J Daniel Have you tested the X9 personaly for its runtime on turbo. I find it hard to believe it can run at 12.000 lumens for ten minutes, that's a lot of heat being generated for ten minutes. Doesn't the X7 Step-down after two minutes runtime on turbo.
BCNEWSVIDEO they don't fail to mention that the high output can only be run for so long, just look at their description of their products on their website before you leave a comment claiming them as being misleading. It will tell you exactly how long each brightness setting can be run for, and also the brightest settings how long will run before they will drop to a lower setting for cool down.
25,000 lumens is great but I would not want to tote that thing around at night unless I had a Great Dane to mount the light on his head. New for 2017 a 25,000 lumen HEAD-light for dog search and rescue. Ruff,Ruff!
avalon449 I'm my surefire booth interview video there is one like that they made with 2 heads for both wide and far. it's was much smaller though. about the size of a pack of cigs.
Not really, let's say $500 for 25,000 lumens, that's 50 lumens per dollar, I doubt there are many lights that beat this value. Saying that I wouldn't buy a light that bright because I don't need one, (except maybe for showing off :-)
1100 meters is 1202 yards, why, what is the point of it? your eyes cannot see that far, but you can blind a hecicopter pilot, maybe that's why they have created ;) anyway i love it, it's cool, and love the video, thx bro.
+YHTan Hell yeah we can, :) and I'm pretty much sure that we can, or they have already create a light that can throw 3000 plus meters, but still what is the point of it? If it is for a personal use, for your hand, doesn't make a sense, because we cannot see that far away, we do not have a eagle eyes, using all that energy for noting, one has to save energy, how about they create something, that is useful for our eyes, and using less energy, :) this flashlight in wrong hands, it can be very dangerous, they can come close to airports with it, and blind the pilots :(
1. If it is a rather big object (i.e. a building, a tall tree, a huge elephant in a wide and open desert and etc.), yes it is possible to see it at 1km away from where you stand; 2. Else, a pair of binoculars or scope can help you to see that far; 3. Another way to look at it is, that there is a tower 300m away from where I stand, and my 1km beam range flashlight can light it up much better than my 300m beam range mediocre thrower. 1km thrower is still better than a 300m thrower lighting on an object at the fixed distance.
ummmmm yea whats up with the blasting cap tail cap? thats fukn ugly! please tell me thats a prototype and they will be changing that! and 370 meters is absolutely pathetic! its essentially an oversized pop-can flooder..... smh cmon Olight a year in the making and THIS is wat u come up with? weak.....
I just joined one of the local Vegas SAR teams, Red Rock SAR, think I need to look at olight, thanks for sharing!
Many better options that are cheaper other than olight that you should look at

I'm pretty sure it's 5 minutes thanks to the built-in fan.

Albert Monteforte. I completely agree, I respect Olight's honesty of their run-times.

Is there a reason why the x9 isn't for sell yet?
Where is that at!? I want to go to a flashlight convention
lmao by the time Olight comes out with this new light it will already be outdated! in fact, it already is!
Only 4500!? I could've guessed the double coming from Olight and all.
What was the model of the second flash lite that shoot up to 1100 meter?
Petey Garcia OLIGHT SR95
Imalent dx80 is 32,000 lumens and you can actually buy it now.
Too bad they don't make one body and two heads, one for flood and one for throw.

Edward Aivazovsky that's right to be able to escape from the dam helicópter lol
Why to have a light that can throw 1100m? Because we can ;)
