I have a very, very dangerous 23gm hognose. Milo always thinks I’m food unless I put lotion on my hands. I get him off my fingers right away so I’ve never had a problem. On days when it’s not his turn to have the brain cell that all hognose share he actually will try to launch himself out of his enclosure. He doesn’t bite me when I catch him from falling. 😊 love your channel. ❤

Kevin McCulry did a cool video on boiga venom where he allowed one to maintain a bite on his arm for nitety seconds or one-twenty seconds or something, a long ass time for a snake bite. The effects weren't at all devastating, even from that significant envenomation.

Living in rural-ish central Texas these things are on the floors, walls, ceilings, book shelves...Just everywhere in the house from May until the end of October. Thankfully not been stung yet, but I've had quite a few drop on me and bounce off. Ugh! Cannot bring myself to actually choose to add more by way of ownership! I think the closest I will get is a "giant" vinegaroon. They're all hat and no cattle, so to speak, and I like it that way.

Years ago, my best friends Dad lost everything he had after their neighbor was petting a horse they owned and it bit her nose off. She had snuck on to their property after being warned not to multiple times. The horse had a bad personality, but she wouldn't listen. She did sue and unfortunately, won.

I have a Stimsons Python named Ekans. I'd had the name picked since I was 6 (in 1996) & I got her like two years ago (my first ever snake). Hearing you say you have an Ekans, too literally just made my day. I'm also super upset because I really REALLY want a hog nose snake cause they're super cute & a false water cobra (to name Arbok) but I live in Australia so apparently it's illegal to have them as pets 😢🙄

i think a huge thing is to have some common sense -- treat your bites/stings as wounds and make sure they dont get infected or too swollen -- also yes please to more invert videos :)
I love venomous snakes. I plan to own a pair of Leptophis in the future, which are rear-fanged but seem to cause a more intense reaction, like mangrove snakes. I also want to own true hots some day, my favorites being copperheads, cape coral snakes, and indochinese spitting cobras. I absolutely respect and adore hots. I will never free handle them. If you want to hold a snake, get a corn snake, not a taipan
I got tagged by my emperor when I was a teenager being a moron handling it while intoxicated. Lesson learned, the spot had some pretty bad localized pain and a bit of throbbing but it was gone within 30 minutes. I since have newer scorpions and I don’t handle and am not a moron anymore but it was ok haha.
Only venomous ones I would get would be Hognoses and similar. There's just no reason to keep something that could cause harm - Im not that desperate to prove myself. 😏

BTW I recently became the owner of a Leiopython albertisii, so have a personal interest in these animals. Perhaps you meant to say White Lipped tree viper (Trimeresurus albolabris) which are surely far more dangerous despite their small size??

I had frog legs at a restaurant once, but they weren't dart frogs. I'm wondering how people catch the dangerous ones in the wild. If you put gloves on when trying to catch them, that makes it easier for them to escape.

Great night in the ER.... Other than that a tortoise who probably carries salmonella but we always wash hands after handling him and have had no issues.
I only have cats. They could potentially be quite dangerous tho, the bacterias on their claws and teeths are NASTY, and their bites especially can put these bacterias deep into the skin and it's quite common to develop an abcess from them. However, my cats are the cutest little angels (there's almost no sarcasm here 🙄) so on a dangerousness level I would rate them a 2 out of 10. Also, 1:24 TOXICOGNATHS! (I watch Clint too much, sorry)
My most “dangerous” snake is a baby hognose with the world’s biggest attitude. That sucker has bit me twice and envenomated me one of those times. Got me right on the knuckle of my thumb. And yeah it swole up pretty good but that was about it. Their teeth are surprisingly sharp. I’ve been tagged a few times by other species like boas and pythons. They kinda strike then retreat. Not hognoses. Those guys are fearless and will try to eat anything regardless of its size 😂
Rear fanged venomous snakes are unique species, but species like these have rear fangs, but some species may have highly venomous rear fangs like that of boomslangs

Most venomous creature I have messed with was in Oklahoma I didn’t own it, I didn’t actually mess with it I was putting my soda down next to the couch and there was one on it and it stung me. lol I had the feeling as if I had gone to a dentist and he over did it with the Novacaine for 3 whole days of over doing it. It was horrible it tasting food, and the sting site on my arm hurt like crazy for a day but I think the numbing kicked in there also. lol yes my hand was numb for a couple days,fun times. lol tfs

The most dangerous animal I have is canis familiaris. I have two, but so far the closest I have come to being bitten is geting a finger nipped at treat time. Didn't even break the skin.

Most venomous creature I have messed with was in Oklahoma I didn’t own it, I didn’t actually mess with it I was putting my soda down next to the couch and there was one on it and it stung me. lol I had the feeling as if I had gone to a dentist and he over did it with the Novacaine for 3 whole days of over doing it. It was horrible it tasting food, and the sting site on my arm hurt like crazy for a day but I think the numbing kicked in there also. lol yes my hand was numb for a couple days,fun times. lol tfs

The most dangerous animal I have is canis familiaris. I have two, but so far the closest I have come to being bitten is geting a finger nipped at treat time. Didn't even break the skin.
