This all relies on the fact, that s he is clothed. She is a "normal", sweet, pretty gal who makes music people like, which a substantial fraction of are men, which substantial fraction of that fraction are single men, who fantasize about her.
There were, and are substantial amounts of money spent on crafting that persona, and popularizing it. AI generated content puts it all in jeopardy, because it removes the mystique, and impacts the public perceptions, even if subconsciously. So, impacts people's bottom line.
A hand drawn/photoshopped picture will not be produced in such volume, and variety as AI generated ones. Whereas, you can put those strings of pixels into automatic banning filter with the ones manually made, and be done with it using small amount of manpower/energytime ( and people will get bored producing them after a while, so the problems dies on the vine ) - the variety and volume the AI ones provide, can easily avoid filters and flood the web.

AI takes material already produced and algorithmically machines an ouput with guidance. Photoshop is a tool for manual creation and editing. To a degree ai 'can' do that, but it can't, as those instances are just convenient effects of other things it does.
AI bad is the trend right now. Similar deepfakes existed for years and no one gave a crap.

There was a case of AI generated nudes of minors here in Spain, more than a month ago. Some of their schoolmates made them. Those girls had to go through a lot of irrational shaming along with having their faces attached to ¶orn.

I don't know why there should be new legislation, when here it was already considered illegal, both because of normal dignity laws and anti pedo laws. All despite being an unprecedented case. We need to stand in DEFIANCE against government legistlating behavior where another person is not harmed. If someone is harassing and stalking/abusing we already have laws for that, they just need to be enforced. We need far fewer laws with more equal and standardized enforcement. This country feels like a kangaroo court sometimes. Better then a lot of em, but i don't like the direction.
How can the creators of deep fakes be legally responsible? Are the prompters now being given the rights to autorship of the GAI output? Last time I checked, OpenAI’s and MS’s fine print in licence agreement stated that users cannot claim authorship of generated content. So how can some dude be legally responsible for something he didn’t author?

I don't think the issue that is being made is one of it being illegal to artificially create a fake naked picture of someone. I think it's just platforms removing adult content from their space that may offend advertisers or powerful individuals. And the owners of these software controlling what you can do with the tools.
Like if someone made a painting of what they imagine a naked swift to look like I don't think most people would see a direct issue, the issue would be if the artist posted that image and tried to make money off of it or posted it to a platform where that is not okay. Like theoretically you can impersonate or make visual adult art that is meant to be parody for example.

I have to disagree about the criminalization of deepfake nudes. I don't like the criminalization of AI tools either, and it will be an uphill battle to enforce. However, what you fail to address is that these tools will be used on people who aren't tailor swift. Celebrities have wealth and power (and fans who defend them) which lessen the impact of this kind of thing. Especially in more conservative communities in the US, faked nudes can ruin women's reputations and do serious harm. The other point you make is "who's falling for this?". Which is a reasonable argument... Right now. Do you think that this technology isn't going to improve to the point that it becomes impossible to tell in 5 or 10 years? And finally, regarding both the criminalization of deepfake nudes and the existence of photoshopped nudes: It's about accessibility. If you have to go on the dark web and run a model locally or learn sophisticated photoshopping skills, the barrier to entry is way higher than paying a 5$ subscription to an app called 'nudify pro'.
I fully agree. Its a good thing the government is taking notice of this issue now even if Taylor is someone who isnt impacted by this very much.
Criminalize behavior that makes someone's life actually miserable. If you can't get over seeing nudes of some girl, real or fake, and start harassing her, sometimes sadly to a point where she commits suicide, you are the criminal.
Perhaps these communities have to stop pearl clutching at the sight of female nudity.
