My favorite Japanese food includes a lot of the classics - ramen (especially tonkotsu and miso version), sushi, teppanyaki, yakiniku. I could eat that every day, yum. For snacks, dorayaki is delicious (with a smooth latte on the side) and of course most things matcha ❤

Most Americans would not eat horse meat, so raw is a strange idea. There is a gourmet raw beef dish called steak tartare ( French ) that is ground beef with seasonings and a raw egg, but most people avoid raw meat. A rice omelette is an unusual idea here, but not strange.
Japanese Tom Cruise is awesome! I'd like to see more of him. The fried chicken pop looks yummy! Is it similar to karaaga? Vietnamese have a few desserts similar to kohakudo's slimey texture but made with tapioca starch. I love matcha - but have a hard time imagining it in beer. Will I wake up from the caffeine in matcha or fall asleep from alcohol? Thanks for introducing us to some interesting cuisines around Asakusa, Miley chan! You're great as always!
What street food do I like? O-h-h-h-h I had so little - so yes, I should have been brave. What Japanese food should I have got? Ramen - definitely ramen. My son makes a mean ramen and natrually everything else pales into comparison with this - next time I go back I'll stop wimping out... and get stuck in. Reminding me of the kimono set (pre-used ¥ 33k / 彼方此方屋（おちこちや）仏光寺本店). As my knowledge of kimonos is (ahem) the square root of zero, I wisely took the guidance of the proprietress. So the kimono was for my youngest daughter who, to her credit, is very confident eating sushi etc. As for me, deep fried in batter is good, fried in breadcrumbs is great, and even grilled works. So imagine my horror at being presented with a tiny table-top grill for my first encounter with traditional Japanese food. It wouldn't have been so bad except... the source of heat was a candle (underpowered lol!) Anyhow that's Arimaonsen (有馬温泉 有馬温泉 元湯 古泉閣) just over a year ago! btw Cute and lively as ever - oh for such energy!

This is very helpful and charming. Meri-chan can draw well, so Miley's standards are pretty high. All I can think of on the food front is something that shocked me. Fatty tuna melts in your mouth. My least favorite is having a Japanese person serve me borderline raw meat in a ceremonial fashion that one has no choice but to eat to avoid being rude.

It’s a scandal if a restaurant is found to be serving horse 🐴 meat rather than pure beef made from cattle. Chinese restaurants often get accused of feeding their customers stray alley cats 🐈 to their unsuspecting customers. 🤮 For some reason, to us Americans, any animal that you could keep as a pet is “off limits “ to eat as meat. Seems odd doesn’t it?
Pets are family, so I think it's natural not to eat. The history of horse meat in Japan goes back 400 years. Differences in food reflect differences in culture.

This is one of the most interesting and best produced Smiley Time videos ever. I wish it had lasted much longer. Eating (and learning to enjoy) food in Japan requires a period of adjustment. While Japanese food, surprisingly, tastes very close to the Japanese food sold near my home, American food such as KFC and McDonald's tastes very, very different. Nevertheless, all of the food is so much healthier than America food. If you are required to take medicine for stomach disorders, you might not need that medicine after you start a Japanese diet. Exotic Japanese food, however, does seem scary (raw horse meat??????). SCARY! SCARY! SCARY! (lol).

That horsemeat sushi would be a good alternative for people who are allergic to seafood and fish (fish oil), like me.
I can't really say I've even had Japanese food. I make a lot of Chinese food with pork and chicken, stir fries, chow mein, chop suey... Even my favourite Ramen is Indomie Mi Goreng, which I developed a taste for in Bali. I did make Japanese curry once, but used the curry spice I had on hand, Indian, and not Japanese. Still tasted good.

Hi Miley to be perfectly honest i would struggle with a lot of Japanese foods anything that moves apart from beef and salmon i could not tackle what you eat like Octopus I like most vegetables and fruit i think i could cope with most most Japanese Deserts I once saw you eat rice and raw egg that about fettled me off . To be honest Miley we all would be a lot healthier if we ate what you eat it is the thought of it that does me.All the best Miley.
I watched it when it was broadcast in Japan until I was about 5 years old, but I was too young to watch it, so all I remember is that it was scary and the music. It seems interesting if I watch it now!!

To me, Japanese street food is more delicious and more authentic than any other street food from different countries. Yes, even better than Korean street food unless its post drink meal 🤣 i think it’s healthier and does better on portions control. Ami chan did an amazing job with Miley’s wardrobe and her kawaii hair style. 👍 they’re all Meccha Kawai!! 🤩 i still think the kimino is Black Pink Kimino style 😜 Miley looks like Jisoo in the group. The only Japanese food I've had and I don't even think it's technically Japanese? Is ramen? actually I did try I think some type of California roll which isn't really sushi but it has cold and sticky rice and shrimp and or avocado, and I just can't eat it. I feel sick almost instantly from biting into it. For me some things need to be warm and cooked. rice and fish have to one of htose things Or I feel liek throwing up if I eat stuff like sushi. Oh, I did have dorayaki. or enve red bean past ice cream with like a type of crust around it and it was amazing. but I think that's the end of my Japanese food knowledge. lol

Matcha beer is strange, but actually quite good, had it once when I visited Tokyo in 2024. Will have it again next time I'm in Japan.

Hmm, I'm always honest, I like ramen, it's the only one from Japan that I've eaten so far.
But I'm very picky, I'd have a hard time. I've never had raw fish, octopus. I don't even like fatty meat. As soon as it's on my tongue I feel like I have to spit it out.

I think there are a lot of foods that people who are coming to Japan for the first time can't accept, and in fact there are some participants who can't eat the food on the tour. But there is a wide variety of food, so you're sure to find something you like🩷

Hi Miley to be perfectly honest i would struggle with a lot of Japanese foods anything that moves apart from beef and salmon i could not tackle what you eat like Octopus
I like most vegetables and fruit i think i could cope with most most Japanese Deserts
I once saw you eat rice and raw egg that about fettled me off .

To me, Japanese street food is more delicious and more authentic than any other street food from different countries. Yes, even better than Korean street food unless its post drink meal 🤣 i think it’s healthier and does better on portions control. Ami chan did an amazing job with Miley’s wardrobe and her kawaii hair style. 👍 they’re all Meccha Kawai!! 🤩 i still think the kimino is Black Pink Kimino style 😜 Miley looks like Jisoo in the group. The only Japanese food I've had and I don't even think it's technically Japanese? Is ramen? actually I did try I think some type of California roll which isn't really sushi but it has cold and sticky rice and shrimp and or avocado, and I just can't eat it. I feel sick almost instantly from biting into it. For me some things need to be warm and cooked. rice and fish have to one of htose things Or I feel liek throwing up if I eat stuff like sushi. Oh, I did have dorayaki. or enve red bean past ice cream with like a type of crust around it and it was amazing. but I think that's the end of my Japanese food knowledge. lol
