Great video! Without a doubt I know all my next games my entire team will all group up in a lane that doesn't have guardians or enemy walkers and have team fights while i go around solo'ing the other teams walkers and guadians by myself, while also protecting our lanes from troopers....
I'm working on a video for min-maxing like that right now, generally is maximizing your time killing troopers, and jungle camps. You basically want to ignore all non-objective based fights around the map, and just farm for the first 20 minutes.
You should cover rotations for jungle on each lane and how to maintain like sometimes I do really well at the start even get a couple of hero kills but that seems to die of and I start to fall behind mid to late game
Nice video and I don't just mean the information it was well put together good clips and good editing. I didn't realize that 10 minutes you don't get half the souls for killing the minions I wonder if that's changed
Jungle camps and objectives are over half your souls imho. Maybe i missed it in the tutorial but i didnt know anything about the boxes and slot machines.
50 hours in and found I kept getting behind in souls only now to realise I only get half from killing the troopers lol I never ever was hitting the floating one after killing
You get the full amount assuming noone from the enemy team denies it. So you are likely getting the majority of those souls. That being said, the reason you are likely falling behind in souls is you are not pushing lanes in the mid-late game, or focusing on taking jungle camps during some downtime.
It really depends on the situation and where you are on the map. sometimes farming a lane is good, and sometimes jungle camps are better. I think having a good balance of doing both is good. but dont hyper fixate on one or the other. As a full wave of minions gives roughly about the same amount of souls as a medium tier jungle camp. Lastly keep in mind, that past the 10 minute mark, if there are multiple people near a jungle camp or lane, the amount of souls will get split between all players (I.E. if you get 100 souls from a minion and there's 2 people, both people will get 50 souls, not 100). So to maximize farming, make sure you're trying to solo farm as often as you can.
If you don’t secure the souls, do you not get them? Like let’s say I kill a minion but don’t shoot the little orb, do I get those souls, or is it split between everyone in the lane?
After a few seconds, the souls are automatically claimed by the killer, so you still get them. Souls are only split, if there are more heroes in a lane than should be, and only for the first 10 minutes.
Hey Jelly! thanks for the video, you covered me for the questions I had. I just found out about this game this morning from my friend m. The game looks like overwatch x pred, There are many things I would like to know, like there are 4 lanes, are there specific roles for the lanes? how many play in the same lane and which one is solo? is there a jungler role? is it like the usual MOBAs?
I'll be making a video on this, but the short answer is no. There are no traditional roles in deadlock. Every hero can jungle, but some are better than others. Lanes are randomly assigned at game start so you don't get a choice (at least as of right now) I'll be making a video with more details soon!
Good catch, I totally forgot to mention their locations and respawn timings. I apologize! There are 4 souls machines with 2 between yellow and orange, and the other two between blue and purple. The machines are indicated by a blue square with a circle inside of it. - They Spawn at 10 Minutes into the Game - They Respawn after 5 minutes For the Urn, it currently does give a +2 sprint speed increase while carrying, but honestly I didn't mention it because it's changed a handful of times already, and I didn't want that aspect of the video to become outdated super quick.
Jelly what keybinds do you use coming from other Mobas? I'm using default ATM and it's okay but I definitely feel like I can make it better it's so hard with having a reload with r 😅
I'm using default right now as well. The only keybind I've switched is Crouch/Slide which I've moved to the C key. I've been debating about switching keybinds around for a more conventional MOBA experience, but Melee on Q and Reload on R make that difficult. If I do end up switching it around, I'll be sure to make a post.
So whats with the unsecured souls.. do you have to take them somewhere to secure them or do you just have to purchase gear with them so enemies cant take it from you?
They slowly become secured over time, but you are able to buy items with them immediately. There is a trick right now (might get patched soon) where you can buy items with your souls and refund them to instantly secure all unsecured souls you have.
Yes you can! Since they are added to your total soul pool, you can spend them like you would normally. (There is a trick right now that lets you instantly secure them by buying items with all your souls and then refunding them, giving you all secured souls in return.)
9 times out of 10, I'd wager that it comes down to the amount of jungle farming you / the person with 40k is doing. There are many games I've been in where I get behind, but by end game still have the most souls of my team when we pull back the win. If you send me your Steam name, or a match ID. I'd be happy to look more into it and go into detail!
You should stay away from the game with your feeder stats, then wonder why you are so behind. It didn't cross your mind that you spent half of the game dead and were useless by just giving out free resources for the opposing team ?
@@ponaskompetencija Heya, there is no need to be hostile toward someone in the comments. Game is brand new to well over 100k people, and many are still learning of the ones that played before. Hell I got a comment on another video about someone with 500 hours learning something new. Let's try to foster a better environment please!
If there is no-one around, the souls will automatically be collected and given to you. If there is a threat of another hero, I'd recommend shooting the souls to confirm them. Both of these apply regardless of game time.
What should I cover next on Deadlock Decoded? - (NOTE: Also, there are 26 Tier 2 Camps, I can't count! 🙃)
Hey, my suggestion would be to cover shop items, as i personally struggle alot with and how they certainly work regardless of hero individuality!
Thanks for the suggestion! It sounds like you aren't alone based on other comments I'm receiving, so I'll probably do the items next!

Timing. How long to lane? Safe times to go shop. when to jungle? When to push all map objective?
Wow. The best soul guide ive seen thus far. A marvelous video. Impeccable.
holy f ty, was going crazy trying to figure out the excess souls enemies were earning and it was tier 1 camps / soul machines. so informative tysm
You're Welcome! Happy to help!
Great video! Keep up the good work! I’ve been wanting to watch videos like this for deadlock so thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you!!

I would really like you to cover damage types and items in general
Keep it up man
Cheers
Will do! When you say the items, do you mean in general how the system works, or more about how the items themselves impact your hero? Or both?
@@JellyKnees both would be awesome yeah
yes, I would very much like it too.
Very good editing and is very informative as a beginner! Thank you so much and please keep the series no matter what, it will save alot of time!
Will do! I'm shooting for weekly additions to this series, but may do more often sometimes as well!
Thanks for the kind words!
more important then where i can get souls, is a strategy to min max soul farming.

Odd! Thanks for the heads up!
Going to shop and get items isnt a good way to not run around with a big bag of unsecured souls after a few jungle camp and those souls machine run?
Thank you for this video, very informative and helpful.
Great introductory guide. 🐸💼
A video with team compositions would be very nice, otherwise. Very good video
Thanks for the kind words! A Team comp video is a great idea, I'll see what I can do!

amazing guide! great job!!! pls keep making videos, this helped me a lot
Will do! I'll be posting Decoded episodes at least once a week for the foreseeable future!
Didn't even know gameplay of this game was out yet. Have no idea what any of this is LMAO. Great video nonetheless!
