It's wild Tatum gets praise from legends like Lebron and KD, yet casuals online disrespect him for not having a ring. Kobe even said Jayson should have been drafted to the Lakers.
KD compared Tatum’s leadership qualities to Timmy. Maybe the nicest compliment I’ve ever heard one player give another.
How is it when wild even goats get disrespected everybody does.
@@carltonrudolphIt's wild there are so many dumb people out there... 😅
Tatum is off to a fantastic start. I wouldn't want the Celtics to trade him for anyone except jokic. That said, its 100% justified for doubt to sink in if you get 4 legit cracks at a ring and don't come through; thats why Tatum gets dogged on.
Its good to appreciate high level play. High level play doesn't become greatness until rings accompany it. That's the difference.
@@Weaponator18 any player is susceptible to criticism but they dog these young guys like crazy. Booker and DMitch dealt with the same stuff, SGA and Ant are next. It’s a really awful look on the game.
4 ECF appearances is crazy at his age ngl. He’s only 19

That's crazy. His mom is only 19 months pregnant with him.
When Bron started naming off the ages of all those greats and when they won their first it really put it into perspective how much unwarranted hate and doubt Tatum gets. It’s wild.
“Getting jrue for a bag of potatoe chips” 😂😂
Tf is a potatoe
Remember when Celtics ownership was lambasted for promoting Stevens to PBO? They knew.
I was laughing my asz when he saud that becayse he is right, the celtics got Holiday and porzingis for lesss than what the team expected.

What's important is, Tatum has improved his game just about every year. The added weight & strength he added in the offseason has made a huge difference in being able to play through contact. He's still getting better, and he still hasn't reached his peak. As a Celtics fan, I hope he plays his entire career here, and I just know he's going to win at least 1 ring, hopefully more.
Yet he disappears ever year in the playoffs in big games
@@Nate51177 most points ever in a game 7 5-2 record in game 7, 46 down 3-2 in elimination game in 2022, statistically has outplayed playoff jimmy in all 3 of their matchups, but sure dissapears
My only critique I have for tatum (which he’s starting to finally do now) is how little he plays down hill like a lebron or Gianna’s(which would open up his game even more if they know he’s a threat at the rack too they’ll have too eventually settle for his step back)and his work in the post.if he fully opens all that up kid has no flaws, glad to see he’s starting to add this shit to his bag tho
@@bandonme610 Thats very fair tho i will say last playoffs he drove a LOT. I think in regular season he gets lazy and settles for jumpers but postseason he will only start acting like steph if the 3 ball is falling
@@anshkaushik7920 I believe that also, great explanation. He seems to settle a bit more for that jump shot in the regular season but last year and the year before in the playoffs he definitely put his pedal too the metal, once he learns to play like that consistently throughout the regular season until playoffs and through he’ll be up on that next tier of players like a prime kd or lebron,at all of 6’9 or 6’10 and moving the way he does once he adds that constant pressure to the rim while also having that elite outside game he does plus with the post work he’s already dabbling in he’d be mismatch hell for any team
that's why im not worried about tatum and brown, people wanna break them up but they're both still young, they just need to grow mentally and have more experience
I know, right? They’re both only 19! They’re so good
@noonookinz4560 😂😂
Only people that want to break them up are haters. If any celtics fans do, they are stupid
Time is moving very fast. This should be there year
They have eastern conference experience and finals experience. They just need to get it done no if ands or buts
2012 game 6 is the very BEST game LeBron James has EVER played. That game against the Boston Celtics was the greatest playoff performance in NBA history. It's not even close..

People are so obsessed with dissing Lebron from losing in the finals because of the MJ comparison without realising that making it to a conference finals is quite an accomplishment for most teams and players in the league.
Reframe it, Lebron is in rarified air that fact hes only really compared to MJ even if hes less then or greater then him (depending on where you fall on that topic) is already the biggest compliment you could get.
There are so many players in the league, past and present who have never even sniffed a playoffs, finals or a championship.
Nobody cares about when you almost win it’s always about if or when you do. Get over it bro that’s basketball
What will be remembered is 6-0 not getting in the playoffs, making it to conf finals.. thats the reality

Magic was the Finals MVP as a rookie at age 20. He had 42 points and 15 rebounds in the title-clinching game. Probably my second favorite player of all time.
He was also drafted to a team with 3 other hall of famers
@@richardedwards5933 They Lakers did have 3 that year, including Spencer Haywood who was at the tail end of his career. They actually had more the year before Magic got there because they had guys like Lou Hudson and Adrian Dantley on the roster but they didn't win the previous year with more hall of famers. When Magic got there he took control of a veteran team at 20 years old and made sure they won the chip that year. He was the difference. He outplayed Doc, Chocolate Thunder and the Sixers.
@LargeDude2023 Haywood still played 20 minutes a game and averaged 10. He didn't get drafted to a bottom of the barrel team and lead them to a chip. That team was stacked. 4 hall of famers plus Coop and Norm Nixon who lead the team in assists.
@@richardedwards5933 Who were the 4 HOFs? The other person said 3. Regardless, they didn't win the previous year with more hall of famers. Magic was the difference. The Lakers always have talent. The Lakers had a team recently with 4 or 5 hall of famers (AD, Lebron, Melo, Westbrook, and possibly some others) that didn't even make the playoffs so having hall of famers doesn't always mean playoffs/championship.
Against bunch of trash stop glazing. 90s team wouldn't even keep up in todays game.
Much better than pointlessly arguing points you don’t even believe. ESPN / FOX Sports!
Great point on how that Finals loss has resulted in Tatum having a better basketball IQ and making quicker/smarter reads during possessions
This is actually a good podcast!!! Was skeptical about Bron because I’ve never seen him speak for a long period of time but he’s been really entertaining and insightful to listen to.

IQ amongst the fandom is dwindling
Lebron said “Celtics vs Warriors came down to IQ, and not experience” but then when JJ said “You can somewhat teach IQ”, Lebron said “Of course. Experience is the best teacher”
Therefore,
More Experience = More IQ
Thus, Warriors won with experience.
It comes to iq in the finals because unexpected things can happen and go unnoticed, which is why it is precedent over experience.
You can have experience and have low IQ for the game but the IDEA is that experience usually should elevate the IQ. BUT there are players like LBJ who come into the league with the IQ sky high already.
People diss Draymond coz of his style of play but he's essentially the point guard of them. He has high bball iq. Knows reads, tendencies, plays and counters. Draymond is one of key components of Warriors
Lmao Udonis Haslem played for many years. He doesnt have the same IQ.
U can have iq without experience tho..there are plenty of current players with experience but little to no iq and there are always players coming in with high iqs with little to no experience so the answer is iq

When talking about Tatums playoff runs the typical response is "hes on loaded teams". What player has Tatum played with that went somewhere else and was even close to what they were with the Celtics. People act like Smart, Brown, Horford and Timelord were some sort of super team.
Going to be difficult for Lebron to be honest with his reads but excited for this pod.

Tatum also has had better teammates than Luka to be fair
@@briant6476yeah, imagine if Luka had teammates like Jalen Brunson and Kristaps Porzingis? He’d for sure win a chip
Luka was in the conference finals in 2022 bro , and JT only made it to the finals once*. But I feel you
Numbers wise Luka is better and just higher IQ all round. Tatum is close he just sometimes makes the wrong decision when it shooting/passing.
Tatum Bom Tatum🌬🏆
I’m so happy
Tatum has had FAR more team success than Michael Jordan at the same age
It’s ez to double and trap Tatum when Rob Williams and Marcus smart are both on the court. Any team is gonna live with Marcus shooting 3s and Rob was a talented defender but a subpar offensive threat outside of lobs and rolls at like 6’8. Pair that with the Jays both not being natural elite playmakers that can dissect a team and it’s their glaring weakness for many years. Both of the Jays have made progress every season in this regard and the team is massively upgraded. If they have health and some luck they will probably win a ring within the next 3 seasons which is reasonable timetable for both of our star wings. Ppl are judging them as chokers and failures before they even reach their prime years.
Also bball IQ increases with experience hence Bron saying experience is the best teacher. The warriors had a dynasty worth of experience in deep playoff runs in the finals. They had higher IQ than that much younger Celtics team bc they were the vastly more experienced team. It’s the same thing. They were out experienced and out knowledged

Don't forget Jaylen Brown, whose hunger and drive makes him just about Tatum's equal, but not quite. Free throws???
LeBron understands it
Lebron led off by saying the Celtics lost because of IQ, not inexperience, and then 2 minutes later agreed with JJ that IQ is often best developed through experience - JJ argued that IQ is partly innate, but can also be learned through experience (Lebron responds with, “yea, the best teacher in life is experience”).
In other words, had Tatum in particular had more experience, he would have developed a higher basketball IQ. Therefore, his lack of experience was in fact a significant reason for his lack of IQ.
A bit contradictory.
3:25 Bron ain’t even sip shii🤦🏾♂️
Marcus Smart, Tatum, and Brown would give GS about 15 live ball turnovers a game, all Boston needed was anyone else at PG other than Smart, and I get it he's beloved and I understand why but he was not a good fit for the team, they outgrew each other and that's ok.
If the lakers would've drafted Tatum think of the big3 they would have
