The guy who sang bass in this song is actually the groups back up bass singer.... The real bass singer was the firat guy to sing with the long dark hair.
Once you dive down the rabbit hole of Home Free, you’ll understand why this particular song is an outlier, beyond the norm of what a Home Free song usually constitutes. That and you’ll understand just how versatile each member of this group is. In this particular song the bass plays a tenor, and the baritone plays the bass. For those that have been long time fans, this song was a head-turner for that very reason.
yes....Misty Mountains, but then Tim & Peter have also collabed on some other great ones too - including Greensleeves, Bridge over troubled waters which is my favorite
@@miamidolphinsfan I love all of those, but “Bridge Over Troubled Water” is definitely my favorite! My other favorite collaboration Tim has done is with Chris Rupp “Long Black Train” which is phenomenal!
How about "Is it okay for me to say that you two are the cutest pair?" 😍 You always have the most honest and flattering reactions to the talent of others, yet I wonder how many people realize how talented YOU all are! Much ❤from this old guy! 😊 Peace, and remember to love your Mother! ☮💝🌎
TIm, who usually sings bass for the group, took this tenor solo. If you want to hear more of his incredible 5 octave range, check out his Doo Wop solo mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. It is one of twelve songs on his new album and he laid down ALL the tracks himself - bass, tenor, backgrounds, etc.
Best of their songs to hear their almost tear-inducing harmonies? Helplessly Hoping. This short harmonic song was originally done by Crosby, Stills, and Nash using THEIR fabulous harmonies. Headphones, eyes closed, mouths shut...listen and be transported to a special place in every human heart. Granted, some heart addresses are unlisted! LOL :)
It’s too bad you haven’t seen more of them before you saw this song because the man who started this song is the Bass! What is amazing is Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range and was singing tenor here. If you want to hear his amazing bass voice watch the video Misty Mountains (from the movie the Hobbit) with Peter Hollens (another amazing “a cappella” singer) featuring Tim Foust. It’s great and he goes really low. I think this was filmed on a ship or boat of some sort. Mayday is a distress call for ships. Home Free won the NBC show the Sing Off in 2013. The man who sang bass in this video is the baritone/bass and is the newest member, Chance. You might want to hear more of him in I Can’t Outrun You or Yours. I’m glad you like them. They have amazing harmonies. I subscribed. Try Helplessly Hoping, Country Roads, End of the Road to hear more great harmonies. Enjoy!
I appreciate the complexity of Adam’s phenomenal vocal percussion and great harmonies. It is so awesome how Chance and Tim seamlessly switch between bass notes and lead vocals. I love how Tim’s range is so crazy (5 octaves) that he can do his super deep bass notes, and then at the same time make the tenor part of his range sound so effortless like in this song and Snow Globe. I agree with you, they have beautiful voices! I became a Home Fry recently and have already made a playlist of mostly Home Free music.
Keep in mind that the vocalist who started the video can sing lower than the piano. Take a minute ... re-read ... yes ... lower than the piano. The location is an old warehouse in Minneapolis that was converted to convention / conference center while still maintaining the industrial vibe.(Home Free began in Mankato, MN which is about an hour south of the Cities.) Check out some of Tim Foust's subwoofer ear candy on "Ring of Fire", "Do You Hear What I Hear" (an incredible tour de force for them all!), "Folsom Prison Blues", "Sold", "Down To The Honky Tonk", and their latest Sea Shanty Medley. They are all incredibly versatile and talented musicians. You can do no wrong with Home Free. We Home Fries welcome you to our rabbit hole!!
One of their more popular covers is of "Man of Constant Sorrow." Their original "Champaign taste on a Beer Budget" is also fantastic and humorous. "Sold" is another great cover, so is "American Pie" with Don McLean, "Elvira" with the Oakridge Boys, "Children Go Where I Send Thee" with Kenny Rogers.
My first thought it might be in a refurbished Train Station and since you mentioned prison, I don't know if you've heard their version of Folsom Prison Blues - you should
Chance, their baritone, sang the bass there. Tim Faust is their bass. Here's some of his low notes: Ring of Fire Folsom Prison Blues Elvira Misty Mountains.
They have so many good songs and covers. In The Blood, Honey, I'm Good, Go Rest High On That Mountain (2 videos- in a church and a military one) The Butts Remix, Country Fried Pop Medley, their new Sea Shanty Medley....check them out!!
Chance (Adam Chance) sang bass in his previous group; Street Corner Symphony which was the runner-up in Season 2 of The Sing Off, [Pentatonix won Season 3, and Home Free won Season 4]. Chance sang quite a few solos and leads with HF; check out Helplessly Hoping, Blue Ain't your Color, I Can't Outrun You, Yours, Cover Me Up[must watch all the way to the outro], among others. Love your reactions, sincere and animated. New sub, Now!
What you don't realize ... is that Tim (the guy that sang first) is actually their bass singer and has a 5 octave range! Chance who sang bass in this one is actually a baritone singer!
@@redneckmafi, he is definitely a baritone-bass just because of his timbre and vocal power, but can definitely hit true bass notes on-mic. My vocal range extends down to G1 off-mic and an E1 on-mic. Still, not going to take away from people doing recorded or mic'd music, since it still takes a certain skill-set, nevertheless.
@@johndeeregreen4592 well I used to be able to hit 1st tenor but know just sing mid range and low range i can hit i B1 I've been try to hit lower like in Geoff from voice play range
@@redneckmafi, be that baritenor and use it. My range extends up into low tenor, but cannot belt the way a tenor can. Bass can be very dramatic, but in most arraignments bass singers don't get to shine. Layne Stein or Geoff makes sure to make Geoff shine, but most don't consider the bass, to be honest. Baritones or tenors get the spotlight more often; having characteristics of those ranges is very beneficial. You know, like Eli of Voiceplay.
You guys kill me..love your reactions..& you actually listen to the music..& respect the song ! You kind of missed the fact that Tim Foust sang both the lowest note in their cover of "Ring of Fire" and was the high singer at the beginning of this song - 5 octave range! Adam Chance, who sang bass in this piece, generally handles Home Free's baritone lines, but sang bass in his previous group.
Too bad you didn't know the group better before listening to this song. You would have had more appreciation for the abilities of these gentlemen. Slap on the hand to whomever suggested this at your point in the homefree journey. A real homefry knows the sequence.
I would really like to see you guys react to a It’ll all be worth it by From Under Crowned Kings. They’re a local band from my hometown and they’re super talented and the song talks about mental health. The music video is powerful and totally worth the watch!
Switching roles and they killed it. Bass singing tenor. Unreal
Oh Tim with his 5 octave range 🙌🙌

But Chance was a Bass singer in the band he was in before
They decided they needed three tenors for this song. Tim, a basso profundo, goes, "Hold my beer".
Next you have to check out Peter Hollins ft. Tim Foust to get the range of Tim , who is from Home Free I promise your mind will be blown

Tim Foust trains his low voice by using his high voice. Not sure how, but that's what he says.
@@JoeJBuddha He started singing high then puberty hit and he trained until he got his higher range back.

You most certainly can say they have the sweetest voices. As Henk Poort stated in Beste Zangers, ''Good music is good music - period''!
Their version of seven bridges road is quite possibly the best harmonies ever recorded.
They did Boyz II Men's End of The Road there, too.
