Alvin Lee, one of the greatest guitar players of his era. Saw him live four times and to my surprise he was not loud just super fast. What a pleasure to see him perform.
So sad to see many of my lifelong guitar heros pass, so many passing and without the recognition they so easily deserved ,Alvin, Rory Gallagher, Kim Simmonds, Ronnie Montrose, Johnny Winter and many more 😢RIP ALVIN
I was 16 when I first saw him at the Fillmore East he just blew me away I never seen anybody like him finally said well what's he like I said just think of Elvis Presley who can play lead guitar like nobody else. He was the tornado on the stage and he gave you every last but he had at the end of that show All I got to say is God bless and if I do make it to heaven I'm going to ask him where is Alvin playing
1973, Tarrant County Convention Center, 2nd row, stage center. Robin Trower opened, followed by King Crimson and TYA as the headliner. When TYA started playing, people rushed the stage & aisles to dance. Fort Worth's Finest were trying to stop them & it was getting out of hand. Alvin stopped playing & shouted "Stop that, you pigs!". Oh, Lord, they gonna take Alvin to JPS (county hospital). Nope, cops calmed down, & everybody got down!
I don't think nobody ever messed with Alvin. He was a no nonsense serious talent, besides having a bit of an intimidating presence, attitude-wise, he was a big guy that could see right through you.
This is the tour he did in the US around 1995-96. That is Gerry McAvoy on bass and Brendan O'Neil on drums. They were in Nine Below Zero with Dennis Greeves at the time . They were the opening band, then they would Play a set with Alvin. I was Alvin's guitar tech for that tour. I'm the dude running across the stage reseting everything for the encore, Choo Choo Mama.
@@chrisbynum4940 omg, that’s incredible! Alvin is my hero. ⚡️ Thanks for your service, sir. I would love to hear anything you can share about the experience.

My hero. I never heard of him until I saw Woodstock. Him and Santana’s drummer as well. Great performances.
I have a picture of Alvin on my wall. He is the only guitar player that deserves to be there. He was the man

I'm going home🎵
He was super
Alvin amazing as always, love the jazz addition.
This could be happening in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1954 in a church basement social, and I'd be like--- yeah, of course!!
ONE OF THE SEVEN WONDERS
The best pure rock - n - roll guitarist ever
extase !
🙏🔥❤ Non sono riuscito mai a vederlo dal vivo e questo non me lo perdonerò maiii🤦♂😞

@@karenscigliano9787 they certainly didn't that night in Fort Worth. Seriously, I was shocked at how quickly (and peacefully!) it ended.
Guitar god ❤
Alvin Lee was a Monster Talent.
Wow Great guitarist
Alvin simply the greatest ever - RIP
fn just wow!...unBfnbelievable
Kit was such a treat for me to see ten ears after and then see see Alvin Lee on his own. Tremendous musician and he should get more credit
Best Going Home was Woodstock, and I ain't even lying.
Высший класс! Мастер!
Best ever is his performance at Woodstock
is that Gerry McAvoy on bass? Rory Gallagher’s bassist. ⚡️💙
MY thoughts as well.
100% the ONE and only
HEADBOPPER GERRY ...🍻🍺💪🤟

Alvin's Marshall amps are REALLY front and center here.....
This was pretty good.
NOTHING tops his Woodstock performance.
Where and on what date was this concert held?
Recorded at the Couch house in San Juan Capistrano, California, on nov. 16. 1994. Cheers.
Tone monster
Incredible but missing Leo in the worst way.
Leo Lyons is still jamming bass with 160 degree split. Excellent band. With a guy named Goushe.Incredible bloke to follow!!!
@@donnalivingston1255 Joe Gooch.
He would have been an even more awesome player ( if that's possible ) , with a Strat and a lower action .
Alvin Lee had a strat but the volume knob got in his way. I believe that his Gibson has strat electronics
Great but not a match on Alvin’s unbelievable Woodstock version
