Alvin Lee, one of the greatest guitar players of his era. Saw him live four times and to my surprise he was not loud just super fast. What a pleasure to see him perform.
So sad to see many of my lifelong guitar heros pass, so many passing and without the recognition they so easily deserved ,Alvin, Rory Gallagher, Kim Simmonds, Ronnie Montrose, Johnny Winter and many more 😢RIP ALVIN
After seeing the Woodstock 69 performance & movie, he was the reason I started to play guitar, back in the day. Even my first electric was a red no name 335 copy. "Watt" was my first but absolutely not the last TYA album. Graham Anthony Barnes aka Alvin Lee, may you forever rest in peace in the eternal heaven of blues. We're all missing you and Big Red. ☮️❤️🎸
My first TYA album was Ssssh Wore the sucker out. I got to see The Alvin Lee Band with Mick Taylor at a small local venue in the early 80's. Alvin never held back. When he wanted to really cook, he really cooked.
I was 16 when I first saw him at the Fillmore East he just blew me away I never seen anybody like him finally said well what's he like I said just think of Elvis Presley who can play lead guitar like nobody else. He was the tornado on the stage and he gave you every last but he had at the end of that show All I got to say is God bless and if I do make it to heaven I'm going to ask him where is Alvin playing
1973, Tarrant County Convention Center, 2nd row, stage center. Robin Trower opened, followed by King Crimson and TYA as the headliner. When TYA started playing, people rushed the stage & aisles to dance. Fort Worth's Finest were trying to stop them & it was getting out of hand. Alvin stopped playing & shouted "Stop that, you pigs!". Oh, Lord, they gonna take Alvin to JPS (county hospital). Nope, cops calmed down, & everybody got down!

This is why God made rock and roll.
I feel very blessed that I was able to see Alvin and Ten Years After in the 70s. Alvin Lee was one of the greatest guitarists of all time ❤
Saw him in Paris May 1974 Ten Years After. Criminally underrated.
1970 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. Unforgettable.
He did every lick in that song perfectly. So good. No one hardly mentioned when he passed. He was one of the great guitarist of our day.

Alvin's Marshall amps are REALLY front and center here.....
Высший класс! Мастер!
NOTHING tops his Woodstock performance.
This was pretty good.
Where and on what date was this concert held?
Recorded at the Couch house in San Juan Capistrano, California, on nov. 16. 1994. Cheers.
Incredible but missing Leo in the worst way.
Leo Lyons is still jamming bass with 160 degree split. Excellent band. With a guy named Goushe.Incredible bloke to follow!!!
@@donnalivingston1255 Joe Gooch.
Kit was such a treat for me to see ten ears after and then see see Alvin Lee on his own. Tremendous musician and he should get more credit
Tone monster
Great but not a match on Alvin’s unbelievable Woodstock version
🔊🎧🔊🎸🎸 🤾♂🤾♂💃💃🤾♂🤾♂🤸♀🤸♀🙏🙏
He would have been an even more awesome player ( if that's possible ) , with a Strat and a lower action .
Alvin Lee had a strat but the volume knob got in his way. I believe that his Gibson has strat electronics

Who in the hell is the creepy looking dude on guitar during the encore with parachute pants and tiny, evil villian glasses?!?
Dennis Greaves. he was in Nine Below Zero with the bassist here, Gerry McAvoy.
