There will never be another time like the sixties that produced so many great talents and legends like Alvin Lee Et Al. God Rest His Soul, I was so glad to have been a part of that generation and being an eyewitness to greatness.
Lucky to catch him live - a relatively intimate gig at Brunel Uni. A great slot in Night of Guitars. Shredding has been mentioned, but I agree with other comments that his melodic quality eclipsed just speed - similar to Guthrie Govan today. Young gun shredders are a dime a dozen on UA-cam, but you can forget artistry. RIP a true Artist. ♥️✌

I saw Alvin Lee in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre (mid 70's) which was the second most acoustically sound building in the U.S. at the time. I beg to differ. Mr. Lee brought it up exactly one notch. One very memorable night.

Been a big fan for many decades. Absolute great guitarist. Lyrically a visionary, as in “Tax the rich, feed the poor, til there are rich no more”. & from Zoom CD “What’s that stuff your dumping at the bottom of the sea?” With too many other examples to list here. RIP Alvin, thanks for all you’ve given to us…!
the problem with that "tax the rich...til there are rich no more..." where the fuck will the money to feed to "poor" come from? The middle class? Those lyrics still bother me. Most of America's "poor" are richer than many other country citizens.
@johntiggleman4686 Dude wake up. I don't know if you've been paying attention or not lately but the wealthy are paying very little in the way of taxes. The only thing they are feeding is their bank accounts.
