      Cam The Man yeah look it’s hard to defend Jeff Varner here in today’s society especially, but we have to remember at the end of the day he initially played survivor in an era where this kind of talk and truth telling being raised was not much of an issue and reasonable mentality. So at that moment he was fighting for his life and retreated back to his old roots from Australia outback era kind of pitching to stay in, as if this was back in 2000 this exact same thing brought up, I bet ya his tribe mates would have taken what he said into account and use that as a basis to vote say Zeke off due to the attitude back then. Sure it’s been well over half a decade since but Jeff just started talking the 2000 Aussie outback era attitude

      @nathankumar5987 4 роки тому +5

      Willie Turner lol you must have forgotten how survivor was back in the original days, remember how Rob outed some bloke there was no reaction to it as it was that kind of era where that would slide, and I can assure you Varner did here if replicated in his initial season, it would have worked in his favour to sway votes as that’s how survivor was back then, honesty was appreciated a lot and hiding was frowned upon. Varner did what he did purely off instinctive retreating to save his survivor life in the game and chose a route in which back in his initial season in Aussie outback would have viewed as ok.

      I don’t think he actually told Varner, it looks like Varner simply figured it out based on the confessions leading up to tribal council. Zeke had also said he wanted to keep it secret. He would have been talking to Varner or anyone else in front of cameras so I doubt he would have brought it up.

Like Jeff, I couldn't fathom going that far to someone.

    Varner is such a fake ally. At first, he says “I fight for the rights of trans people every day. I would never hurt anyone here.” Then, two seconds later, he tells Jeff, “I’m arguing for my life. I feel like I have to throw everything at the wall.” It just sounds so inauthentic. At first, he seemed passionate about standing up for trans people, but then he feels burdened, as if to say, “Oh, what do I have to do to get everyone to stop yelling at me”

      Chu_OW nope editing makes you think that’s but tribe still needed Ozzy around for challenges and he was strength of it. Why else would Varner feel the need to fight for his life like he did, he ain’t no rookie of the game, he was a veteran who played right at the start of it, post mid phase and then later stage, you’d think he know what’s up as a whole going to tribals

      Sometimes I feel like there’s a format for certain seasons. I feel like if I was on the show I would realize it. Cambodia and Game Changers had the same format. 2 tribes of 10, 2 eliminations, tribe expansion into 3, 3 go home, dissolve into 2 tribes of 7 and 8, 2 leave, merge.
      Had they realized this, Ozzy would’ve gone for sure.

    I don’t even think Varner is this horrible monster. He just was grasping at straws and made a really STUPID decision in the heat of the moment. The man is gay himself and I’m sure he has done lots of work for and supported gay/trans rights. I know where his heart is on the subject and on Zeke. He just absolutely made a rash, very wrong decision and I bet he has beaten himself up ever since and would take it back if he could. I respect Zeke for just wanting to be Zeke the survivor and not the token trans survivor.

    • @spacecadet2172

      Tina King I disagree completely. It was completely premeditated, as Varner himself admitted. Furthermore, his attempts at apologizing and comments after the show aired indicated that he still wasn’t truly contrite and if anything felt like he was the one who had been shortchanged, rather than taking responsibility for his despicable and depraved actions.
