After being a Samsung user all my life, I loved buds live, and listening to music with it was simply amazing! Yet, after my note 8 was finally dead, I had to buy a new phone and because almost all the phones with high specs were unusably big for me, I went for iphone 12 pro. At first I used my buds live with it, but the sound was inconsistent, listen to music and answer a call and the volume is somehow different, sometimes extremely high, sometimes extremely low. So I decided to give airpods pro a try to experience this long famous seamless apple experience. Here are what I experienced. I still believe buds live sound much better while listening to music, you definitely feel all the vibration and the whole listening experience is much superior to airpods pro even when paired with iphone. As for comfort, I am never comfortable with any of these buds, but I had to secure my buds live frequently and because the touch controls are actually on the surface, I used to play or pause even if I didnt mean to, which was really annoying. With airpods pro, you do not have this problem, but still you have to deal with the stems of it since your hair will most probably get stuck between your hair and airpods if you have long hair. The biggest problem with airpods pro is the volume control. You either have to call Siri to do that or reach for your phone, but good news, if you have an apple watch paired with your airpods pro, you can use the crown of the watch to control the volume, which I find very practical- I just found it accidentally, why doesn't anyone mention it?. Overall, I was happy with my buds live when I was using a samsung phone, but airpods pro provide a better experience within the apple ecosystem, but I must confess I sometimes still listen to music with buds live :)

If anc is your top priority get the airpods pro. I have them and also the wh 1000xm3. This is my subjective opinion but I seem to hear less noise with airpods pro which I did not expect.
They have the same issue the two previous generation buds had. There is a hardware level volume on the buds themselves separate from the phones volume. I had to max out the buds volume using the customized press and hold function to adjust volume up/down. Then I was able to get them to where I wanted; I was very confused when I first started using them. They do get very loud at max volume and can fairly easily go above comfortable listening levels. I feel the bass is a bit too much, but the "Clear" sound profile seems to fix the issue for me.
He didnt have anything playing when he tested anc. The galaxy buds live, and + r both louder than the airpods. The lives approached a comfort which was a mid preference to be in their own category. It blocks out all low and outside noise but u will hear voices.
The ANC on the live aren't supposed to cut off the whole noise. You are still supposed to hear things around you just not those deep sounds. Its perfect for the average person who doesn't cut off from the world. That is why they are called "Live" and they are an open design. The airpods and buds+ are an in ear design so they fit deep into your ear cutting off a lot of noise and being in your own world. Like in an airplane or train, etc. I bought both, still waiting for the buds+ but I love the live so far for work since I can hear things around me.
In my opnion, the feature that makes the airpods pro unique is the noise cancelation. The title from this video is very misleading, stating that those new buds are better than airpods pro overall, which is not true. I understand the author needs to sell these and get affiliation bonuses, and the full review is actually nice, but imo, the title is deceiving your audience and tricking people into watching the video with the wrong expectation.
Ran a few test myself and yeah samsung is on to something with this bean but I feel it needs to grown some more to catch airpods pro cancellation. A little bit of soft rubber around the speaker grill would have help.
I don't have either, but if I had to choose, I would still go with the Airpod Pros because of: 1) Better ANC 2) Better microphone quality 3) Longer overall battery capacity 4) Less sound leakage 5) A matte finish. The Buds Live still have: 1) More flushed design which is good for riding 2) Decidedly better audio quality? 3) More color choices 4) At the price of regular Airpods 2 5) Longer on device battery. An important factor is signal quality and how long it could be maintained without hiccups.
I'm planning to purchase galaxy buds live, my only requirement in noise cancellation is for flight journey. Do you think they can cancel the airplane hum? Thank you
If people can hear your music and the noise cancellation is bad, believe me it’s not a good product. There is no privacy to your listening sessions and outside noise seeping in will ruin any music.
Max - Can you compare the active noise cancellation under airplane/flight simulations such as driving on the highway? I am thinking the Buds would be better for me (even though I am all-in Apple) as I would use them daily for music, but I'd like solid active noise cancellation for flying... Thanks for the great reviews!
Another great video Max Tech! Just some comment / suggestion. I have been in Apple’s ecosystem for almost 10 years. Apple usually intends to keep their products produce output that are more natural, just like iPhone’s camera. Same goes to AirPods Pro, i think Apple chose to NOT tuning the sound processing too much to give more bass and etc to improve sound quality for sound that is not at high quality. Like some other music youtubers’ review, AirPods Pro follows the actual frequency of the music very closely which means better accuracy. When AirPods meets higher quality music, it will also sounds better. So it will be unfair to compare the headphones via Spotify which the music quality can be heavy compressed. Would it be possible to do both test via Apple Music instead? Because even at highest music quality, I can already tell the difference between Spotify and Apple Music, and Apple Music definitely sounds better. As for Microphone test, every App uses different sound processor or codec. To listen to highest quality / optimized sound of AirPods try FaceTime Audio. Or you can even try Microsoft Team conference, record the video and compare the microphone of the headphone by recording playback. Voice recorder of the phones are not optimized for external headphone, it’s more optimized for the phone built in mic. :)
I use a Huawei Mate 20 Pro as my daily driver since almost 2 yrs and might change next year by the end of Q3. I'm confused between Samsung Buds+, Pixel Buds 2, Jabra Active 75t, Huawei Freebuds 3. Please help choose one.
just got mine. came from buds+. the ANC coupled with silicone sleeves work great. I keep a small 18650 rechargeable battery powered fan by my head at night. obviously, you'll hear the motor hum and air movement. with ANC the hum goes away and all I hear is the air movement. all that and on sale for $140 it was a good buy.
So please tell me the buds live are louder than the other galaxy buds? Cause mine arrive tomorrow and i already have the original galaxy buds, just wanna know if its worth the upgrade? I need them banging my ears out while im at the gym.
@@sharkz7902 thank you for updating me. I suppose anything from the originals which we have would be an upgrade. I think I'll pre-order them now here in UK
I just got the Live today. I have been looking for a quality wireless that are not in ear. (I hate the plugged in feeling). I do hear the ANC when listening to music and the TV is on it would be as good as sealed but that's an easy trade off for me. The sound quality in music truly did blow me away as well. I am excited to try it for a few days. Thank you for the solid first review always appreciate your videos.
I always hated the paring of the Galaxy buds, because the connect so fast to a known device that you can’t pair them with others fast enough. The only trick was to disable BT on the other device, is that still an issue?
Hii , Thanks for the great video and I had a question for you. Do you prefer the galaxy buds plus? Do they have the same bass as the buds live? Is the ambient sound on buds plus good for hearing things around you ? By the reviews I've seen the galaxy buds plus has Done and amazing job even better than the buds live. Could you tell me you opinion on this please?
I have both the galaxy buds plus and just got the galaxy buds live. The bud lives are much more comfortable to wear in my opinion and also seem to be much louder thanks to the 12mm speaker. In my opinion ambient sound is very irritating being that you hear a constant weird noise on top of sounds such as voices. I never use ambient sound because of this. The ANC on the lives cuts out literally all sounds besides voices or sounds such as like a timer. Sounds such as a fan running, or a fryer, and most car noises are nonexistent. I actually prefer the sound experience with ANC and definitely will use it constantly even if it costs some battery life. I definitely recommend the galaxy buds live over the buds plus.
@@josiahgoldsberry7121 Hii bro thanks for your opinion. It will be really kind of you if you can answer some of my questions. 1. I have heard that when you play music on your buds live. All people around you can hear it too! And that should be really annoying for everyone, is it true? 2. I've heard it has a lack of bass like the buds plus that really had a lack of bass. I've heard even with the bass duct it doesn't have good bass. Is it true? 3. I've heard it gets pretty load right? Amd I've heard from some people when you activate you ANC on buds live the sound quality will change amd dropp and you will get much lower and weak bass! Is it true?
@@furybn7527 when at max volume the sound is extremely loud. People around you can hear it when the volume is at max but not because of low quality headphones but because the 12mm speaker is so loud. But you can turn the volume down some and you still have a loud premium sound. As for bass there is absolutely no disappointment. The buds live have much better bass than either the buds or buds plus. Songs like WHO R U by Jufu almost hurt its so loud. And no I have not noticed any change in music quality when ANC is engaged. But you can obviously tell the change as the outside noise is deleted out. I just got mine in the mail this morning. (I ordered 3 minutes after they launched) and I have used them all day and have been very impressed. I highly recommend you purchase them. If you don't like them Samsung allows returns for up to 15 days after they were delivered.
Bro I really appreciate your help. yes you really encouraged me to buy them and not buy the plus. And 2 last question if you dont mind 1. I've heard when you turn up the volume you will have distortion and you will not enjoy your music. Is it right? 2.So at 80 or 85% volume others around you can't hear your music? 3. How mamy hours does it last in real life use? 4. Wich color do you think Is the best color to buy?
i saw a lot of reviews on the buds live and bought them. honestly, if this is considered good bass, i have to ask how much do the others suck in the bass dept.? i am used to the sony mdr extra bass wired earphones and trust me this is no where near the wired sony setup

Hey Max! Could you also try the experience of using the Buds Live along with an iPhone? I'm not really into the awkward AirPods nor the in-ear dynamic of the AirPods Pro, the Buds Live really look appealing to me with the open design, and I'm an iPhone user, so I would be really thankful if you could try and describe your experience with that combination. ♥
I like the airpods cuz they have that stem which is easier to put it on or take it of and they are visible to others so that they know you're wearing earbuds as for the buds live are completely flush with your ears. I think airpods has a great design. "Just saying"!
Just got my galaxy buds live and men!!!!!! The bass and the sound quality was on par with my sony over the ear 1000X2. I was blown away. The sound quality and the bass is so good I'm pissed.
i have the galaxy buds live and the airpods 2. the most thing i noticed is that airpod's response time is way better than the buds live, also the noise cancelation is years better on the buds. the sound is pretty much the same with more bass in buds
My guess is maxed.. You can hear the song bleeding out. And that's what i been saying with open in ear designs. You have to pump that volume in order to appreciate what you're listening to. Well to each their own.
The buds live I feel would work well for everyday walking around in city environments. The anc will cut out the low noise from cars, subways, etc, while you still can hear your surroundings. The design also is for more confortable for long periods of time. With 8 hours in tge bud themselves, you could literally where them for a full work day without removing them.
Max, regarding ANC, I think the Samsung’s Open Type design (with pressure vents) is really for joggers. If you wear those “silicone sealed” TWS earbuds to jog, you’ll hear your own body vibration sound at every step (pomp! Pomp! Pomp! sound). Sealing ear canal is really not a good idea, not good for air traveling too (pressure change). That’s why industrial designers started to design addressing the issue.
Yulissa Saber AirPods Pro is really really close to perfect...that battery life is just a dealbreaker...hope they can address on this issue on the next gen
You guys should realise that the ANC on the Pros seem better because the Pros totally seal your ears. The ANC on the Live was intentionally designed to not cancel all the frequencies and that's why they seem weaker but they are not. The Live was Designed for comfort, that's why it doesn't totally seal your ear canal. If the Buds+ had ANC, it would have been just like the Pros because they both implement a design that totally seal your ears.

Do they fall out when you're running or doing other exercises? You didn't cover that.
Are you going to try the watch?
Ran a few test myself and yeah samsung is on to something with this bean but I feel it needs to grown some more to catch airpods pro cancellation. A little bit of soft rubber around the speaker grill would have help.
I don't have either, but if I had to choose, I would still go with the Airpod Pros because of:
1) Better ANC
2) Better microphone quality
3) Longer overall battery capacity
4) Less sound leakage
5) A matte finish.
The Buds Live still have:
1) More flushed design which is good for riding
2) Decidedly better audio quality?
3) More color choices
4) At the price of regular Airpods 2
5) Longer on device battery.
An important factor is signal quality and how long it could be maintained without hiccups.
I'm planning to purchase galaxy buds live, my only requirement in noise cancellation is for flight journey. Do you think they can cancel the airplane hum? Thank you
Nice video ! Don’t forget to do full review after 1 week of usage with the samsung earbuds !
The Airpods have a better sounding microphone. I think the Samsung buds have a better cosmetic approach.
I’m not putting two glossed baked beans in my ears 😂
You prefer to put a toothbrush in your ear?
Idk man, those tooth pick hanging on your ears doesn't look good either. Im not using both btw 😂
Do the pros of the Galaxy buds live make it worth buying if I already own the original airpods? I like the open ear design of both
If people can hear your music and the noise cancellation is bad, believe me it’s not a good product. There is no privacy to your listening sessions and outside noise seeping in will ruin any music.
@Dami Fash why do you have to resort to insults to get your point across?
@Dami Fash ahahahhahahahah Great
Dami Fash thats so contradictory, open noise cancelling so that you can hear... how is that noise cancellation?
Thank you for this video 🥰
Where are people getting these!? I ordered mine but I still have to wait 2 more days!
Well some reviewers get theirs days or even weeks before official launch.
What about samsung galaxy tab s7 plus vs ipad pro 2020
I use a Huawei Mate 20 Pro as my daily driver since almost 2 yrs and might change next year by the end of Q3. I'm confused between Samsung Buds+, Pixel Buds 2, Jabra Active 75t, Huawei Freebuds 3. Please help choose one.
just got mine. came from buds+. the ANC coupled with silicone sleeves work great.
I keep a small 18650 rechargeable battery powered fan by my head at night. obviously,
you'll hear the motor hum and air movement. with ANC the hum goes away and all I hear
is the air movement. all that and on sale for $140 it was a good buy.
So please tell me the buds live are louder than the other galaxy buds? Cause mine arrive tomorrow and i already have the original galaxy buds, just wanna know if its worth the upgrade? I need them banging my ears out while im at the gym.
I have the original galaxy buds are the lives better?
@@dnicaw im currently waiting for them rn to arrive.
@@dnicaw im using the galaxy buds live and in comparing them to the galaxy buds and for me honestly the sound is more louder than the originals.
@@sharkz7902 thank you for updating me. I suppose anything from the originals which we have would be an upgrade. I think I'll pre-order them now here in UK
@@dnicaw yes for me they are much louder than the original buds.
Can you test comfort when you are lying down on one side of your head with it see if it hurts?
Do they offer the transparency mode? I’m visually impaired so this is really important when I’m using them for navigation.
it doesnt because its open design, so transparency mode isnt necessary in the galaxy buds live
Buy the ones you like the sound of and enough of this Highlanderism.
There are a lot more factors than just sound
@@nitinanku yes but if convenience and such and such are a higher priority for you can do way better getting cheaper buds.
Yup, I chose Buds live, bro. Way better!
At 2:03 ya slide says Buds love vs Buds live instead of air pods.
I always hated the paring of the Galaxy buds, because the connect so fast to a known device that you can’t pair them with others fast enough. The only trick was to disable BT on the other device, is that still an issue?
Hii ,
Thanks for the great video and I had a question for you.
And 2 last question if you dont mind
1. I've heard when you turn up the volume you will have distortion and you will not enjoy your music. Is it right?
2.So at 80 or 85% volume others around you can't hear your music?
3. How mamy hours does it last in real life use?
4. Wich color do you think Is the best color to buy?
i saw a lot of reviews on the buds live and bought them. honestly, if this is considered good bass, i have to ask how much do the others suck in the bass dept.? i am used to the sony mdr extra bass wired earphones and trust me this is no where near the wired sony setup
how about the mids and highs? you only mention the bass.
your beard is looking awesome big fan btw
Galaxy buds look like kidney beans lol
What an original comment!
Y AB Woo! UA-cam is filled with original comments! It’s not like I see “Like if you agree” or “Who’s watching in 2020” or “Who’s been a fan of X before 2020?” or any other crap like these! UA-cam comments are great!
Y AB Haha what? I was just saying what I thought they looked like
@@PierceJPeterson everyone knows they look like beans, half of the comments are saying these look like beans, there is no point of saying they look like beans, we get it
Y AB I’ll be honest I didn’t look at any comments or hear anything about them before expressing my opinion lol
Best review and compare so far 🤗👌
I have a question: Does your Airpods pro making a clicking/crackling sound when on ANC and transparency mode?
I use them with iphone, they work perfectly fine if you download the app
And is there any way to turn off both anc and transparency mode in airpods pro on Android just like iOS ?
I like the airpods cuz they have that stem which is easier to put it on or take it of and they are visible to others so that they know you're wearing earbuds as for the buds live are completely flush with your ears. I think airpods has a great design. "Just saying"!
Just got my galaxy buds live and men!!!!!!
The bass and the sound quality was on par with my sony over the ear 1000X2. I was blown away. The sound quality and the bass is so good I'm pissed.
Hey max
I have a question
What do you think a MacBook is better or a Windows laptop for students?
The buds live are open style thats why the ANC sounds different
yes we mentioned that
Look forward your detailed review on the bids live 🙏🏻
Max, at first I didn't notice you were the one in this video.
i have the galaxy buds live and the airpods 2. the most thing i noticed is that airpod's response time is way better than the buds live, also the noise cancelation is years better on the buds.
the sound is pretty much the same with more bass in buds
How do they compare to the Pixel buds 2?
There is a typo in the comparison sheet dude
wait does the sound go through that much? was ur volume on like max or what?
My guess is maxed.. You can hear the song bleeding out. And that's what i been saying with open in ear designs. You have to pump that volume in order to appreciate what you're listening to.
Well to each their own.
I'm using the Galaxy Note 9. Which should I get?
The buds live I feel would work well for everyday walking around in city environments. The anc will cut out the low noise from cars, subways, etc, while you still can hear your surroundings. The design also is for more confortable for long periods of time. With 8 hours in tge bud themselves, you could literally where them for a full work day without removing them.
Is there any difference in audio level of the airpods pro when paired with Android as compared to iOS ?
Btw love your content ❤️
Nope, I use it on my android and on my mom's iPad , they sounded the same
Why did I feel like I was right there with him lol like I was laughing and reacting to them dwwl This was an awesome review!!!!
Hi Max after a long time!!!!!
Sorry Apple, I love to eat beans more.
Yeah but once you eat those beans your teeth are going to be yellow or brown because you have no toothbrush.
Haha 😆
Max, regarding ANC, I think the Samsung’s Open Type design (with pressure vents) is really for joggers. If you wear those “silicone sealed” TWS earbuds to jog, you’ll hear your own body vibration sound at every step (pomp! Pomp! Pomp! sound). Sealing ear canal is really not a good idea, not good for air traveling too (pressure change). That’s why industrial designers started to design addressing the issue.
The buds live don't stay in your ear when jogging lol. Its a fail. The galaxy buds + arebetter.
Airpods Pro have an air vent so the pressure inside and outside the ear are the same
@@abhay4848 Any proof or just salty fan boyism
@@MrMalam1234 go watch flossy carter's video on galaxy buds live
Yulissa Saber AirPods Pro is really really close to perfect...that battery life is just a dealbreaker...hope they can address on this issue on the next gen

Watching this video with my galaxy buds live on 🖤🖤
You guys should realise that the ANC on the Pros seem better because the Pros totally seal your ears.
