Collards do not taste like Spinach to me. Collards are not harsh , not bitter and they are delicious.
Remembering back when an uncle of mine kept me in lots of greens, rutabagas, white half runner green beans, sweet banana peppers, ears of corn, crook neck yellow squash, fresh dill, fresh sage.... sweet memories.

Another enjoyable LIVE! I am glad you contacted your insurance provider. Hopefully that will soften the financial loss a bit. Ryan seems so laid-back and upbeat, no wonder he and Kennedy are part of the Cog Crew. I checked online, my search for a home will be in zones 8a and 8b. That enables me to learn much from Cog Hill vegetable gardening videos. I hope to have a few raised beds. I do enjoy your stories of your family's life on the '40'. (The story re MaryCarl being trapped in the aviary reminded me of when Jami was trapped in Steph's greenhouse and it was over 100⁰. There was a problem with the latch. She had to call Bri to escape. Her attempt to be sneaky backfired. In typical Jami fashion she created an entertaining video.)

I no longer have a ground squirrel problem, a couple of outdoor cats took care of the problem. Since then I’ve had javalinas in my fenced backyard (never figured out how they got in), a snake climbing up my laundry room door, and coyotes walking down the middle of the street in front of my house. Did I say I live in a metropolitan area in southern Arizona. To be fair, there is a wash (stream bed) a block from my house. Animals come in from the desert thru the washes that are all over town.

Hi Jason & Brooke! I love your videos. I hope that after the fire is investigated…that you can recoup some of your costs back. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊 As we are all getting older, the body doesn’t heal as fast, after injuring ourselves. We all have to think about that. Recovery time is not the same as when we are in our 20’s & 30’s. That’s for sure. We all have to be advocates for our own health. My Mom & Dad used to always say…”Take care of your health, if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything. Even the richest person, can’t buy it”. Here I am at 62, I have arthritis in my right knee now…from all the dancing that I did in my younger years. I have to wear a knee brace some days, when it gets sore. But, I’m still dancing. It’s part of my life. I would be miserable without it. I just have to know my limitations. 👍😊 That is a cool bird feeder. Interesting info about those Chimney Swifts. 🐦‍⬛

Just an FYI on burning. 30 years ago I lived in the Los Padres Forest with one neighbor. The forest service came in to do a control burn and it got out of control. We packed up our belongings, with plans for the animals. Luckily they got it back under control. Unfortunately, about 8 years ago there was a forest fire which took out the houses, structures all around. Control burning is a good thing for many reasons. Unfortunately, they stopped control burns and it has just been devastating when fires do occur.

We thought our ice maker quit & all it was, was the little feeler bar got stuck & didn’t fall & tell the ice maker to make ice!! 🙄. We have lots of pigeons that nest in my neighbors under eves but only fall to winter then they are gone. 🤔. Fresh corn is yummmmy! You guys get some relaxing time this weekend! 🙏❤️🤗

When I was young we had to stay outside, so climbing trees was pass time!! So glad Katherine didn't get locked in with the pigeons, bad enough Mary Carl did!!! Live in CO never heard of a fall garden, I wish!! We get some snow and frost come Oct but I can watch you guys and enjoy it that way. Does a fall crop grow faster? It's always wonderful hearing you guys!!
