Feeding a family is no easy task, from shopping for food, to kind of knowing what you want to prepare for the week and then the actual cooking and clean-up each day. I am now 68 years old, and my mother passed back in 2019 at age 87, but I thank the good Lord that she always had three meals ready every day for three kids. And she worked a full-time job to support us. When we grew a little older, we always helped out from setting the table to the clean-up, with my mother always washing the dishes while one of us dried and stored the dishes, glasses, and pot/pans and cutlery. That time spent in the kitchen allowed us to talk with her, and I will always have those memories.
Glad Snow White is still doing good. It's amazing that you knew the difference in the eggs. We all have chores that are at the bottom of the list but you do what you gotta do.
When I was a child (70years ago) we had worm bins under the chicken wire, covered with wet newspaper as needed, made the best compost when added to the compost pile and kept the dust down. Worms were good for fishing and composting.
I order paper products and stuff I use on line, but I still drag out to shop for fresh stuff (no garden). Cause I’ve seen how some of the kid shoppers are, first grab, into cart. I’m as fussy as I can be about dates and turning packages over to check for hidden smushed berries and bruised apples, things Brooke doesn’t have to worry about. Now, when it comes to cooking, I agree, I am sick and tired of cooking after 50 years. You get to a point where you can do it with your eyes closed, but clean up is always there.
AND I Love That! My Husband tried Cooking when he retired he was home 5 years before I said Here I Am to bother You! But then it was ALL you Mom.. Told me time and time again That is a lot work.. And when he started washing LOL I worked Two jobs clean house did the shopping Cooking washing. and MOWED the yard every Friday.. when he worked. Now we both Retired he is mowing riding on a mower I pushed mowed. But he is helping wash dishes. and he will fold but hates it still. Now putting away that ALL on me.. LOL
Jason I can only imagine how proud your mom & dad are of you and Brooke! You guys work so hard for your farm and animals! You take such great care and pride in everything you do!

Brooke, Jason is so trusting. This video was so fun. The pepper jelly video has put me on the hunt for a hand crank vegetable food processor. I'm thinking because you did it with the hand crank it left the flavor in the veggies.
I bought one at Walmart it's a little different it has a pull cord instead of a handle you crank. But it works just the same I love it. It's only about $10 😊

I always enjoy your taste tests. The repartee is always funny but kind and loving. Such a wonderfully supportive and caring couple. Of course I am not doing the work but repositioning the EggMobile is one of my favorite chores to observe. The chickens appreciate their mobil buffet and in return you have fresh eggs and healthy, fertilized soil. I have told 2 people about the nesting boxes you utilize. They make sense and it's obvious the chickens enjoy them. It appears Holly was willing to share her seat in the Beep-Beep with Daddy Jason. He should feel honored - he could have been forced to walk. Few people have the honor of sitting on the seat of royalty - muchless holding royalty in their lap. Just sayin . . . .
How many farms give their chickens a mister in the summer days? Probably not many...but Cog Hill Farm chickens do and they are living a great life. I imagine their eggs are delicious.

@@carolbaughman2412 each spot they move the coop is getting the chicken fertilizer, that's the point of it being mobile, pressue washing will make it much cleaner and would make a job Jason hates into fun. Pros outweigh cons.

If you want to save a little time just take down the rear legs on the coop because your going to pick up the front. Just an idea Take the tent thing Moody was in and move it up to the back of the barn and close it in for storing the bails

They have the hand crank food chopper on Temu! Several kinds to choose from but I did see on like what Brooke was using!
