- And so the curtains fall. Here is the new facelifted 2024 Audi A3 Sportback (8Y). The changes are not that crazy, and very subtle. Updated head and taillights, with the headlights having 4 different DRL signatures. Redesigned front bumper and rear diffuser. New wider front grille now without any frame. New Audi logos front and back. And yeah, the confusing theme of putting the Audi Sport logo next to ordinary A-models continues here on this new A3. There are small changes in the interior, as the gearshift knob from the E-Tron models making its way here. Also, the air vents have slightly different design, and there are new materials that are fully recyclable, used in the interior. First two engines out is one petrol and diesel engine with automatic transmissions. One interesting thing is that a manual 6-speed version is coming soon for the TFSI. That rear diffusor is horrible
I don't get why they add the red rhombus symbol (meant for S/RS models) to "regular" models in the S-Line package. It's misleading, like when BMW adds the letter M to non-M models... I've noticed that this trend started with the new Q8 e-tron, and unfortunately, they've followed suit with other models in the same direction. Why pretend something is what it's not? It's an artificial world of appearances.

The black plastic grill is one thing, but the wide crossbar ruins the design completely. When everything is gray and dark, you can no longer see any special features because everything is tone on tone and the new logo is only attractive at night. Otherwise, I find the design visually appealing and if there is only money for plastic, then there is little Audi can do about it. You also have to keep up with the times financially. You can be happy that this vehicle is still a combustion engine.
It’s weird to me that people think chrome paint somehow makes it more premium. The cost is very little difference and imo chrome trims are outdated and tacky looking
I don't like the gearshifter design on the 8y gen. It's not conveniently designed.

No facelift for the current generation, new Q3 will come in 2025
Will there be an A3 45 tfsi, with about 245 or 250hp again? If yes, no need for me to buy an S3.

Audi has lost their design magic. This A3 sits like an SUV, beltline is too high, ugly front grill and excessive black plastic on rear bumper.
They should ditch this glorified Golf, at least the hatchback versions.

This A3 gen (8Y) was a disaster in terms of interior looks and material used! Audi has made a lot of steps backwards and lost ground to mercedes and bmw and not only. In general all new audi”s interior and quality is lacking behind. I hope they will change it with the new interior that we are going to see in the totally new A4, A5 and Q5 2024 soon.. Otherwise Iam leaving the brand afters 15 years with only audi’s
