This is such a great (and simple) technique.
1. You don't have to go to the ground
2. You can either knock them out with the palm strike, temporarily blind them with the fingers in the eyes or put them on the ground with the takedown (or a combination of those things)
3. If they try and push against your hand they're just pushing your fingers deeper into their eyes

I'm thin built and I guess when walking in Los Angeles I look like an easy victim. And as such, bad guys go out of their way to pick a fight. But only 3 ways. Rarely they bounce around like a boxer. And rarely they rush me like a tackler. Instead, they most always walk right up to me, arms down at their sides and chin up, like a human punching bag, daring me to make the first move. This technique I've used maybe 300 times from the 70's till now. It works best when the idiot's girlfriend is watching. I might mention that since the 70s, I'm a 4th black in kyokushin then 10 years kickboxing. When they approach me, I like telling them "I won't hurt you, but I will embarrass you."
