Hola Alejandro! Como esta ! It’s been a while , a lot of operatic things happened! I saw my first Opera at La Bastille at Paris . It was Rigoletto 🤩 starring Baritone Zeljko Lucic , now I’m quite exigent when and comes to Verdi Baritones , i feel like this have this tendency to completely let go there vibrato and sound like an old engine trying to start up but he was terrific! Beautiful dark timbre and powerful high notes , it was BelCanto for sure as for Duke , he was sang by renowned tenor Joseph Calleja with a very bright voice , not throaty at all . He kept his voice colour I would say he’s a lyric tenor . It was a new production which was actually surprisingly good although it is not the beautiful medieval costumes . The duke is wearing a leather jacket and girls in Bikinis are dancing behind him while he’s singing La Donna e Mobile . Not my cup of tea but if it works 😂 Anyway it was great ! And tonight for my father 60s birthday iv invite him to go see Roberto Alagna !! At la salle Gaveau. I can’t wait to hear his voice in real and acting skills. But it’s not over … Amigo the king of Opera is coming back to Paris in February to sing an opera concert of il Due Foscari !!! Parents or not I’m going back , it’s priceless 🤩 And guess who’s coming too : Susana!😂 She’s coming to Paris on purpose to see him and we will meet before the concert ! Ok you now it all ! Yeah Domingo got a standing ovation the moment he was on stage La Scala . It’s normal when you think about it though, the balconies of La Scala are full of hardcore opera expert who live for it and booed Pavarotti when he cracks 😂 so having the all time operatic singer again must have made them mad ! @@Sacha_Kudli Bonjour mon ami, how's it going? Oolala, the Bastille, that's quite a venue, for so many reasons. Rigoletto is another great Verdi opera, so much good music and well-drawn characters. Agree with you about Calleja. Another "freak" in the tenor category, like Domingo, Corelli, and Cura--and the ladies are grateful. lol I'm glad I only have your description of the stage production to go by. =q Great birthday present for your dad -- Feliz Cumpleaños pops! -- Alagna has a great voice. I look forward to hearing all about it when you go to Domingo's concert in February. Sorry buddy, but who is Susana? Everything is good here, the weather is still in the 60s-70s F here, more rain though. It usually doesn't get cold and stay cold until next month.
