I just got this bag and I was having trouble understanding the sliding suspension system. You explained and covered it so well. I was lucky to find this video! Thanks a lot.
It's also illustrated in the three printed diagrams on the pack itself. As the saying goes, if all else fails, follow the instructions! Great pack. Good luck.
Woah that is AWESOME!! New gear is always exciting!! Especially a first use trip! We hope you have a fantastic time and the pack makes your load seem light and the miles seem easy!! You are VERY welcome!! :-)
I see what you mean. The suspension seems great! Very well priced too. Lots of good pockets. I like the raincover personally with camera gear to protect better. Good environmental reasons too. I can't wait to see it in use. Love the icy setting. 👍💪 Well done.
Haha ya we had the full grip of winter for a while. The pond was just thawing finally. Yup me too, we just need an adventure that everyone wants to go on!! Thanks for always watching and giving us great comments we really appreciate it!! 🤜🤛
I imagine the dying process of the pack material is less environmentally hazardous than the dying process of the rain cover material! That's my best guess anyway!
Great review. Thanks. Picked up an as-new male version of this pack recently for $30. I just love it. Amazing value. If you're on the fence, just go for it. You will not be disappointed.
That IS an amazing deal! As this was for my wife the max torso length is too short for me! I would LOVE to try it out on trail! Thanks for commenting!!
It's a little bit older but there is a current version that looks the same. Search for "Decathlon Forclaz Womens MT100 Easyfit 50L Backpack". It is $99 usd on Decathlon's website.
Hi! Thanks for sharing this video 😊 I just bought one today & I have no idea what to do with all those straps & buckles.. how to adjust it comfortably according to my body height & size 😁 Thank you so much 👍
Your welcome!! It is a fantastic pack for the price and you don't have to sacrifice quality. The features are great too! 👍 we hope it works out for you!! 😀
Awesome!! I hope you end up liking it!! Be careful not to overpull the orange straps! Only pull them until the shoulder straps are snug over the top of your shoulders!
@@Larrypint only used it once, it was pretty good. im not some sort of professional camper or something but it did the job. survived a bunch of teenagers jumping on top of it and throwing their stuff and handled a ton of weight, so i guess it did the job
Hi, thanks for the video! I saw that where the straps of the backpack grip is made of rubber material, it looks fragile. Have you noticed any abrasions with use? Thank you!
I'm not sure what you're referring to. There is no rubber material on the pack. If you're referring to the underside of the straps it's padding with a mesh covering. No abrasions yet. It's very comfortable.
Thanks for the review! I especially appreciated you showing how much coverage the rain cover gives. Could you tell me if the aluminum frame stays are removable? I'm thinking about using this for bikepacking, and sometimes I might need to pack it down. Thanks!
Thanks for such a wonderful video. But How reliable is the central zip, I am jittery about this zip breaking or coming out, if it happens then the whole bag will be a disaster. Please advise, Thanks!!
Thanks for watching and commenting. We haven't had enough experience with it yet on trail to say definitively but so far i have no reason to believe that would be an issue. Once we get some miles on it and do an actual review we'll make a note to address that.
Thanks for the detailed review! I am considering this pack for my wife and as a secondary use: my older kids (10-11). Do you mind sharing the approximate torso length of your daughter? I can't seem to find details on the torso lengths it will fit.
For this video (she's grown since then even) she was at about 15". The small Osprey Sirrus Women's pack goes down to a 15" torso length so that is her pack normally. She was 10 at the recording of this video. The adjustable torso length on this one is awesome but it was too big for her (as you could see)
thanks, very nice review. Is it going to be too short for someone (male) 1.88 tall? I am just wondering what the differences to the male version are, beside the color
I'd like to know what would be better for an all-around backpack (city and trekking), the 50 L or the 70 L model? I'm planning on carrying at least 10 kg of gear, up to 20. I don't want to look too out of place in the city, mind you.
Well the 50 L will be more discreet and it will be good for you 10 kg probably up to 15 kg. If you get up to that 20 you'll likely want the 79 L... but that is going to be bulkier!!
@@DMSAdventures Thanks for the fast response. I'll probably get the 50 L since I like being fast on my feet and maybe cut on my max weight. Having a jumbo sized pack without anything inside probably isn't good either! :)
I don't see any reason why men couldn't use it. I had it loaded up for a trip once and tried it on loaded and it feels just fine. I ended up going with a different pack bc the torso length of this one fits my wife better than me. Just make sure you get one with the correct torso length!
I still think it is! We haven't used it as much as I'd hoped. It is for my wife and she's not to keen on Backpacking Trips! She's only used it once. That's how i knew to be careful not to overtighten the orange straps.
It's been awesome! Turns out Rugged Mountain Sister IS now tall enough to use it and now SHE uses it vs her mom. She has used it on 4 adventures and it has worked great. I'm trying to get her to do an update video on it to let everyone know what she liked and what she didn't. I know one think I thought she'd like but she didn't was the forward facing water bottle holder. She said she continuously bumped her elbow into the water bottle while hiking.
@DMSAdventures Thanks for the info! I just placed an order for the 70L Decathlon Forclaz Men's MT100 Easyfit backpack. I am looking forward to my new backpack! PS I would like a smaller and lighter pack but I will be using some car camping equipment for awhile mixed in with my lighter backpacking equipment. I am not sure when I can begin to remedy the situation. I would like to get a backpacking tent. However, Dunston Gear does not have the X-Mid 2 in stock. In addition, Dunston has not released details of their new X-Dome. I am not going to wait for an optimal setup before I get out and backpack. I am really looking forward to my new pack. Getting a lighter pack may not be a priority once I use the MT100 pack.
@@DMSAdventures most of the videos of their products on their website isn't enough for me and your reviews along with the kid is very helpful, keep up the good work sir :)
The Easyfit adjusts the straps AND the torso length at the same time. Some packs don't have adjustable torsos and typically the ones that do are more involved to adjust. My granite gear crown 2 is not adjustable and my teton sports can be adjusted but not while it's on and loaded.

Decathlon made a very bright red backpack and decided not to make a very bright rain cover. Way to go!

The stays are integrated into the suspension system. It's what makes the fit so easily adjustable but it also makes them NOT removable!

Yes in my opinion i think this one would be too short for someone 1.88m. I am 1.829m And it barely fits me.
@@DMSAdventures a pity for the nice colors :)
@@DMSAdventures Hi thanks for the review! What is the max torso length you think this will fit?
I have a 21" torso and i can get it on but it doesn't fit very well... id say 20" max maybe.

Does it have luggage straps in the main compartment?
I do not believe so. Just a wide open compartment!
Does the 50L pack come with a rainfly?
Yes this pack comes with a rain fly!
Hi! Do you think I could bass this as a handbag for my next flight? 😂
I am not entirely certain. Not sure what flight limitations are for size.
is it enough for carry on?
I am unsure what carry on limitations are. My guess would be it IS small enough but i couldn't say for sure!
Is it available for men to use?
If I'm not mistaken there IS a mens version but I've worn this one before and it fits just fine for me.
