Decathlon is very popular here (Belgium and the Netherlands), i often go there. Their own brands specially Forclaz and Solognac are unreal value compared to the competition. And the design team really knows their stuff! I feel like they use all of their products for a long time and try to improve on them every time. Genius store!
I really appreciate that in brussels you can find any good and quality thing at a real price. But some people don't have access to good equipment and don't even know it exists and have to buy garbage that is near them.
Haven't finished watching yet, but my son got given one of these bags over a year ago by the owner of the store he worked at (CT in Canada, to use the initials, as it's a well known automotive and sporting goods store). It was the Christmas bonus that everyone who worked there got one of these packs stuffed full of food and kit. The amount of stuff he was pulling out of his pack when he got home was phenomenal, including a 25lb turkey, and even more incredible, he said that he had no problem getting around with it on (2 buses to get home after work bc we didn't have a car at the time). We've both used it over the 18 months he's had it and it's absolutely the most comfortable pack, even when you're working with issues like I have - fibro, back injuries, etc. I was so surprised, I wanted to get one myself, but lol The boss had cleared out their entire stock. Sadly we've moved back to the UK so he doesn't work there anymore, but he's still got his pack, and uses it all the time. I would definitely recommend this pack. It's seriously good value.
Excellent backpack. Got mine a few months ago and have used it frequently. It currently sells at £79.99 in the UK. £10 more than what it cost 4 months ago.
I own the very first version of this backpack, same features, a little different shape. 12 years old, no kidding, and still rocking! I can only support this review, in this regard Decathlon does AMAZING gear 👍🏻
you consistently give the best reviews. decathlon is almost always the best value, here in singapore as well. it doesnt cater to the highest end market (e.g. professional alpinist, climbers etc.) but decathlon has a solid understanding of their target market and makes a product that really hits the mark. keep up the good work!
Awesome review! 🎉. Could you do an episode on how you maintain your gear? Keeping dirty pots away from other stuff, cleaning muddy footprints, how to pack them away wet etc. Some stuff seems obvious, some not so, and I'd love to see some tips and tricks from a pro!
Oh HELL yeah! ! ! I second that suggestion. A video dedicated to maintaining your gear, suggestions on how to keep dirty pots away from other stuff, cleaning muddy footprints and how to pack them away once they are wet, etc. would be a very helpful video. I've often wondered how you pack everything up after it's been soaked in the rain and everything is muddy.
I have been doing research for a few months on a great budget backpack, and this review has made me make my decision. I picked it up at their store, and it didn't disappoint.
I have this pack, and have used it quite a few times. I can attest that this pack punches above its weight. Im always interested in other pack reviews, but for similar performance, you'll be looking at packs that are double, easily 3 times the price. Seriously. Comfortable, durable, easy adjustments, the void of space inside, and simple and logical storage. Great for beginners and the experienced alike
I immediately purchased this pack after watching your original review and have never had any reason to regret it. On the contrary it has proved to be all you said it would be. Without doubt the best pack I have owned in my 60 odd years of using them. Indeed so impressed have I been that I couldn't resist buying a 50L version for light hikes in summer. Decathlon have produced a classic that should endure for years to come. Thank you!
It's very funny to see an American (or I don't know but you seem american) talking about a Decathlon product, let me tell you my opinion on this company. Decathlon is a French company created in 1976, it has shops in France, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Germany and maybe others. Here in Belgium there are a lot (more than in any other country) of young folks enrolled as "scout", we have our own type of scout, it is different from other countries and it's not related to religion or some political beliefs. Every single scout of Belgium goes to Decathlon to buy his gear for the summer camp. I'm 23 and back when I was a kid they were selling low cost low to average quality gear. But now they really stepped up and they provide low to excellent quality gear and always for the lowest price. I have a similar 60L backpack from 2011, I have a tent from 2007 still using both every summer. I'm a big fan of Decathlon (even though it's a big company now). It seems that they really try to improve their products based on the feedback of their customers.
I got this after the review. I use it for hunting and as a not small or not big guy this thing was extremely comfy, I strap my tent to the bottom outside. Super super happy.
I ve owned the 90lt decathlon I backpack and I have to say that I hiked 40 miles in three days with 55lb weight with no problem at all. The harness system is amazing. And in EU costs 90€.The price is hard to beat.
Would agree 100% . I bought one this year after research and mainly watching your initial review several times . Used it on a forty mile 3 day trek earlier this year , and it was amazing. That back system is incredible. So easy to loosen and tighten. Only issue was me over cinching it for my height .
@@andyventures6574 I think we only have an online store here in Ukraine - nonetheless, thanks! Looks like I can try ordering and trying it out, pretty confident it should fit me
I've had the forclaz 100 90L since your review a couple of years ago for the 55L because the 90 was the only one in stock. These bigger (but inexpensive) backpacks with the extra volume allow a beginner to purchase bulkier sleeping bags and other gear that may not have compression bags, which ultimately saves even more money. I got a teton sports 0 degree sleeping bag that works great for keeping warm, but it takes up a lot of space since I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars for a smaller sleeping bag. I've found that many bulky sleeping bags weigh about as much as the smaller and more expensive bags, the former just takes up much more volume, but that's not a problem when you have 90L capacity LOL
I'm considering this backpack but I'm a little concerned by front access zipper. While it seems to be amazing feature due to ease of access to your gear, it also looks like a potential weak spot - if the zipper breaks, your gear will just fall out and backpack will be useless. It doesn't seem to have any backup option, like front straps or cordage that would help keeping your gear in the case of zipper failure. 10-years guarantee is comforting, but perhaps you could share your opinion as to zipper durability in this backpack?
I bought the 50l version based upon your review. I love it! Several Trips into MT Rogers Recreation Area and it is the most comfortable pack I have owned. Loaded for multiple day trips with no problem. The Rain Cover worked well in torrential downpours. $108 total, tax and delivery. Thanks for the review!
Beginner backpacker, I bought this pack because of your 1st review, and I have loved it. It's very comfortable, lots of space, and I have not had amy problems with it. I forsee using this pack well into the future, and may buy a 2nd for my son to use.
During the first couple of years when COVID19 hit, there were tons of travel restrictions, you could not just hop on a plane so people started finding other ways to spend their vacations. In Canada, we saw a HUGE influx of campers, you could not reserve most of the time cause the campsites were full for the year! My point is this, since COVID, camping supplies and merchandise has skyrocketed in price, double, triple and even quadrupled in some cases here in Canada. It is so nice to see a manufacturer offer a quality product at such a reasonable price-point. Other companies need to smarten up. Over the years, I have become a TRUE TETON Sports fan-boy. I recently bought a new tent, the MOUNTAIN ULTRA 3-PERSON TENT (plenty of room for me, my gear and never a leak or drop in it) and this I use for my Kayak adventures with my friends. the ALTOS 0 DEGREE DOWN-FILLED MUMMY SLEEPING BAG (more than enough warmth on cold fall nights) and the TETON Sports Explorer 4000 backpack (my old pack was finished). I LOVE TETON Sports products, for the price, the quality of material and craftsmanship, I don't think anyone else can come close. This looks like a great bag and I am kinda pissed that I didn't see it sooner cause like you, I am not a HUGE fan of multiple pockets, I prefer one large space. BUT hey, it is what it is and I am happy with it but KUDOS to Decathalon, I hope other companies follow! And as always great review bro, I rely on these to keep me informed so keep up the good work, you are appreciated!
As for decathlon warranty: I personally know someone who had a decathon backpack with a 10 year warranty, after 9 years one of the zippers broke, she took it in and they replaced her backpack with another one, with a new 10 year warranty. It's solid.
I have bought a lot from Decathlon and kept liking things till - I reached out to report something and it was late and I kind off was brushed off. Osprey and some brands are way costlier, but when reached out for any reason that's genuine, they just replace it. That in long term is of great value. Thanks for the review though.
I have tried uncountable amounts of backpacks and for me there is only one and really only one backpack that checks all boxes and in a such convincing way that I really don't care about it's high price point. (400euros) it's the fjellraven kaika!! Yes it's heavy but I don't care because the harness system is the most well designed ever and makes you forget the weight. It's insanely durable and the entire layout of the different features is absolute perfection. I travelled the world non stop for about 8years and carried my backpacks every day. I broke several so called awesome backpacks and always had problems with there harnesses giving me bad pressure points. But this fjellraven backpack is never giving me problems and I wish I would hav had it right in the beginning of my trip.
Hey, just watched the whole video and stumbled upon a new project called freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. Gotta say, the features are outstanding! Being able to charge the bike in indoor mode is a game-changer. And that brushless 750W motor delivering 80Nm torque and reaching a top speed of 20mph? Impressive! Plus, the 80mm front suspension and puncture-resistant fat tires ensure a smooth ride in any condition. And let's not forget about the Smart Saddle Detection+ feature and the ability to convert calories into CO2-free miles for outdoor rides. I'm definitely supporting this project. Can't wait to explore the outdoors with the Morph eBike!

I have MT900 70 liter and I can attest, that it's probably the most comfortable big backpack that I've ever worn. Especially that it leaves a massive gap on your back for airflow, so you don't sweat there. There are 2 reasons why I had to switch to a different one though: It's too big for airline overhead luggage. If it was slightly shorter, but wider, it would fit there And the second: since I carry camera with me, back access is almost a must, especially with a camera cube that has drone and mirorless. Otherwise - this one is the best
Bought this after you first review. It is so good. My first ever rucksack that fits properly. I'm very tall. I clamp it on my hips and on multi day treks my shoulders actually start to feel more comfortable day by day - unreal! When I bought this I was new to trekking and camping - am so happy I took your advice!
This is the same harness system as my Karrimor Jaguar 35 years ago. I'm pleased to see the concept has stood the test of time, This looks to be a very good pack, I am going to look out for one.
I also purchased mine after your review video. I am very happy with it. Very comfortable. I will be taking it for the adventure of my lifetime in the Arctic soon.
I have a Mountainsmith circuit 3.0 65 liter pack that I bought in 2009. I paid $130 for it. I have had it on 2 different treks of 57 miles and 65 miles in the Sangre de Cristo mountains in northern New Mexico. On the 65 mile trek I left base camp with a pack weight of 62 lbs and returned with 49. I have used it on weekend hikes at least once a month until 2014. It has shown no signs of failure so far. If it ever fails, it is good to know about packs like yours so I could replace it with a budget. I probably will never carry 62 lbs. into the woods any more because of my age.
Trying to find reviews for this backpack is how I found your channel. Saw your review, then other videos of yours as context on your criteria and decided to get it. BEST. PURCHASE. EVER. :)
Just bought it based on this review. I know from experience when Luke gushes over an item to snag it. The Skyemac large stove is a PRIME example. Plus I need a lighter pack, my Molle 2 ruck is like 10 pounds by itself. Drop like 6 pounds....that's like the entire weight of my tent AND my chair.
Got this bag based on your review and it's everything you said. I took it out last weekend on the mountain and it performed great. Punches well above its weight. My only gripe was how hard it is to put my water back in the bottle holster. I might get a shoulder strap holster from chicken tramper and use the bag holster for my spare bottle. 10 out of 10 other than that.
I just bought the 50l version. Took it on an early morning speed run/hike with about 20 pounds in it. Very comfortable and it is a great bag for the price.
I got this pack when you first reviewed it and I love it this is one of the reasons why I watch your channel your on point every time you saved me so much time an money on buying gear thanks so much Luke 👍
Decathlon is very popular in China. As a junior hiking enthusiast, I bought Decathlon hiking shoes, trekking poles, pants and MT500 backpack. but the backpack in vid seems to lack the ropes that can fix the trekking poles. I took these equipments to the poster 3200m and saw the golden sunrise of Gongga Mountain 24,790 ft(日照金山).I will remember this view all my life!!!
I recently noticed a Decathlon location open in my area. Your video prompted me to check out their site. I know I want to look at that pack and other items in store too now.
I ordered the SmartDevil fan last night, upon your recommendation, of course. I live in Winston Salem and my daughter and I desperately needed a fan a few weeks ago camping the Yadkin River at the base of Pilot Mountain. Thank you so much, for all that you do.
Decathlon is a fantastic company and if they had more store presence in the US (I believe there is only one store in CA), they would crush all REI and other outdoor companies in a heartbeat. Their products are well-thought (their R&D department is actually very legit), well-priced and they already benefit from vast presence outside the US where everyone knows the brand.
Long time subscriber and viewer here..love the channel .... forclaz and decathlon gear I have all there packs from trail running packs too 50L to this one and the 90L and there pants that convert into shorts are awesome too ❤ thanks for the video
You introduced me to my favorite jacket from Outdoor Research, who I'd never given a second look before. Thank you. I trust I could just go buy this pack and it would work nicely. That's a big deal.
Your assessment of this pack is spot on man. I went to grab one a year or so ago based on your review and they were sold out. I ended up buying the Travel 500 70 L instead and absolutely love it. Also picked up a killer budget puffy down jacket from them on Beckers recommendation. It too is an excellent value for the price. Decathlon really does have some great gear at affordable prices. ❤️🤘😎🔥🏕️
Thank you for this review. Both my sons are in scouts one being a Cub about to cross and the other already in the main Scouts. They both have a different size pack for their size and have already done week long camps with them. I am one of the leaders for the pack and because our camping style is closer to car camping I have used my old military duffel bag for a lot of it. Was looking at various packs for the older style of scout camping and seeing a lot of them start at $300 plus is a problem. I have mobility problems so I know I am not doing the big hikes with them but seeing how affordable this pack is this is right down my alley as I am not investing a lot of money for something that I will not get the full use of. Also as they get bigger I can let them use it.
Thanks so much for this review. I was deciding between Osprey Rook 65 and Decathlon MT500 AIR 60+10 ....and then I saw this. Amazing review, keep it up.
My packs are Mystery Ranch packs and both use the same frame so I have one frame for both packs. I’m a big game hunter and I need a space to carry meat out of the backcountry, a meat shelf. This pack looks similar to my Pintler but has the capacity of my Metcalf….but no meat shelf or any other way to carry meat. I also prefer and external frame.
Luke....such a great review I tried to order 1. Sadly Decathlon refuses to refund my money on the pack they can't deliver. They are accusing me of theft or that is has been stolen. Yet I have tracking info that proves it was never delivered. BUYER BEWARE! They are not about strength and honor in any sense of the word.
I can confirm this bag is sold out - been trying to get it for a year. Some of Decathlon's stuff is indeed good for the buck - they had a running waterproof jacket that I liked a lot, but I gifted it to a friend. A couple of down jackets that I have are nice, but I really also like the pants and fleece jacket that I have from their Solognac brand which mainly targets hunters. They don't try to be high end and they need to be... but they do make you think twice before going for the high end, which I like.
I have 50l version and waaay to happy with it. Will get 70l version as well for winter camping! But I am afraid going into Dechatlon store as I spend a lot there 😂
Thanks for the review man. I just ordered one. Its really nice to have you as a resource since Im so busy in my trade I cant spend the time figuring these things out. Because of this, Ive been suffering with a old military backpack for years now...just got this pack on your recommendation. Thanks again.
Great video - I think the thing that holds Decathlon products like this back in terms of general awareness is their very very low level of marketing spend (even in Europe where they're based), and the incredibly unfocussed range of products they sell. Forclaz is a Decathlon brand but it sits in among about 9 other decathlon brands plus however many other brands they carry. The pack is great - I have had one for 3 years now, and it's done about 1000 miles of trekking from the UK, to Japan, to Kyrgyzstan. It's still great, no physical failures. Forclaz also makes an excellent 2 person tent that is definitely not a copy of a much more well known, expensive tent... But then they make some GARBAGE products like those terrible quick hike tents and some of their insanely heavy, sloppy backpacks. Pity, hides the gems.
@@olivierdumais6463 Well no need for the secrecy as looking it up I see they have done another CLASSIC decathlon sh*t move and rereleased it with a new name and higher price... It's now called the Forclaz MT900 and seems to have gained 500g on the old version I have (now saying 1.95kg vs 1.3kg for the old TREK 900). Otherwise looks the same and, also, is a complete copy of the MSR Hubba Bubba (1.85kg) - but for half the price. Also it is way less fragile than the MSR original, and has an integrated groundsheet for the door areas. Friends MSR got tears from small rocks, gravel, the poles poking it... the Decathlon copy is much more resilient.
My Kelty child carrier has on-the-go torso adjustments just like this backpack. It’s not really necessary for backpack but for child carriers because mom and dad keep taking the carrier back and forth. Idk if the system adds more weight but it’s definitely worthy to be micro adjustable for backpacks too.
I used the mt500 air for a small part of the via Alpina. Absolutely love it, especially the bottle holder and the inner compression straps. It just had everything I wanted in a backpack for such a good price!
Appreciate the review; well done! I had heard of the puffy jackets but never considered Decathlon's other stuff. This certainly has me considering the pack. Checked it out online; the 50L looks about the same, just a smaller lighter package (3.5lb), possibly more in my desired size range. The air 50+10 is also a very interesting option (3.7lb). "Just about every feature you can image, including features you don't commonly see on backpacking systems." I would point out these missing items: dual hip belt pockets (the air pack has them), dual angled water storage pockets, balanced top loading side pockets, exterior rear mesh pocket (the air pack seems to have an exterior rear pocket, but not mesh), 2nd horizontal strap across shoulder straps (for additional securing of bladder straw, possibly other uses, as seen on the air pack), the description says "ventilated back", I presume this to be due to the separation of upper on lower back supports. However, this is not the same as the 'trampoline' or mesh supports seen on the air 50+10 (or some osprey packs, among possibly others). Final and largest concern, the website does not seem to list, or at least not easily noted, the min/max torso lengths. As a way above average height individual, I push the upper limits for gear length. It would be nice to know the max without reaching out to the company. For the bulk of people, along with the 50L and the air 50 +10, these seem like really nice durable options.
That's all true ... I have the Forclaz MT500 air 50+10l (for men though I'm a woman) since about one year and I am beyond happy with it!!! It's sooooo comfy to carry with up to 15kg and the trampoline netting in the back makes a real difference on hot summer days!
i usually don't watch any review fully, but i enjoyed yours so much. It was all straight to the point and precise. Btw Decathlon is my favourite brand, like you said, the quality for the affordable price no company in the world can beat Decathlon ❤. Cheers man
Love Decathlon, first came across it when I was working in Toulouse back in 2008, still a massive fan of their gear. Only yesterday I bought a load of base layers for Autumn hiking, their Solange range of gear and pants are just as good as Fjallraven and a 1/3 of the price
The sole benefit of my metal frame pack is the pocket on one side to hold the butt of a rifle. I dont usually have the need for it - i dont hunt much - but in some back country a 30.06 is... Well, its like the teddy bear we all used to sleep with.
I also buyed it after this review. In 30km hiking trip I missed the most more wider shoulder straps. Currently they are too narrow… So for small trips it is ok, but for heavier gear on winter trips this bag is not ok.
Followed your advice one year ago and I didn't regret it. This pack did perfectly for my hikes in the european alps. Some days ago my brother called me to recommend a backpack as he didn't have any. Suggested this one right away. And in France it's priced at 80€, less than 90 dollars. It's a steal.
After seeing the review for this backpack a year ago or something I got it last august. (To be more accurate the 50L version) This backpack is so great. It's only the 50L version and I can fit in clothes, water, food, for not only me but my also my 2 dogs, camera, camera equipment, a full emergency pack, has an easy access to get to everything fast.. I strap all the dog stuff I need on the outside and am good to go. Only downside I have (with mine at least) is the weight it can carry. It's not getting uncomfortable at all, however it seems like the bands loosen up fast and I have to rearrange them every other km. Nonetheless, if you are on a budget or even not and just want to make a really good deal I tell you, get that backpack.
It is a great backpack, and amazing the difference between being able to carry 40-60 liters, and being able to carry 70 liters. The 70 gets you to the point of carrying a camping chair, a few extra clothes, more food, etc. I have never been able to backpack with a 40 liter pack; it is just not big enough. Great product at a good price.
@@stonehill27 , yeah playa... I hear ya. I personally just can't backpack in with less than 50 liters. I REALLY.... want my camping chair. God knows I have done enough camping trips withOUT one. I sure do like HAVING one. Plus, I want more water, and food. I'm not going into the forest already light on gear, food, shelter, bedding. arms, and more. Plus, I want a DOG to go out there with me nowadays. There is no tellin' what the hell is in these thickest woods of Dixie, and I know.... he will do his best... to protect us both.
Рік тому+1
been using this for more than a year, and my only complain is such large backpack when put on heavy load they exerts a tremendous rearward force on a petite physique like mine. A detachable hood compartment to be occasionally worn in the front would make it perfect. I wish I could modify one.
omg $120. this channel has redeemed itself. i got my pack stolen and just bought a marmot/dana design called the bridger. now i know what i lm getting, this pack
I bought this pack based on your previous vidéo. It served me well on week-end trips but really shone during my two week trip to Moose Factory ans James Bay.
I just wish it came in more colors. I really wish they would do a green on black color scheme. Make all the red areas green. Would look really good imo.
Decathlon also do a 50 litre version of the same bag (in a rather boring grey) which is an excellent 3-season long weekend outdoor pack (without the temptation 70 litres offers to stuff in more than you need!)
I got this pack after your review (I actually got 2 of em), and I love em, great value !! The 70 L is a bit overkill for me though , so I mostly use the 50L .
I have it in the 50l version and it's perfect. But also has disadvantages as small pocket on the waistband, the strings and elastics are thick and heavy- I replaced them all, bottle holder is not the best. But overall, the carrying system is very good, the options of use, the value for money is very good.
Thanks so much Luke! I've been looking for backpacks for our bug out bags and this pack would be perfect....going to the site next....hope they aren't sold out again....Please tel Suzy Hi!

I’ve used the 50 liter version for overnight backpacking trips many times. I agree 100% with this assessment! The full zip opening is fantastic !
I've bought it 2 years ago, after watching your video. It helped me a lot with my research. It's amazing product.
I got this after the review. I use it for hunting and as a not small or not big guy this thing was extremely comfy, I strap my tent to the bottom outside. Super super happy.
I bought this model based on your previous review. You were not wrong, it's excellent.
Are you a high person? I'm curious how did it fit you :)
@@ynokenty I'm 6' . Fit me really well.
@@andyventures6574 thanks! Does it have more room for fitting an even taller person?
@@ynokenty I would say yes - but would recommend trying one on if your concerned.... How close are you to a decathlon store ?
@@andyventures6574 I think we only have an online store here in Ukraine - nonetheless, thanks! Looks like I can try ordering and trying it out, pretty confident it should fit me
Canada here - bought one , haven’t used yet but the space and simplicity without 20 pockets and straps just feels better for me.
Update; it's still the best pack I've ever owned!
Beginner backpacker, I bought this pack because of your 1st review, and I have loved it. It's very comfortable, lots of space, and I have not had amy problems with it. I forsee using this pack well into the future, and may buy a 2nd for my son to use.
I’ve bought 4 of these backpacks. I use the red one you’re showing off and I love it. My wife has the women’s 60L. They’re awesome.
I've got the 50L and the 70L. Really great quality comfortable packs.

Center-zipper packs are strongly worth considering. Mystery Ranch has several sizes of center-zipper packs. Got mine in early 2020.
I have MT900 70 liter and I can attest, that it's probably the most comfortable big backpack that I've ever worn. Especially that it leaves a massive gap on your back for airflow, so you don't sweat there. There are 2 reasons why I had to switch to a different one though:
It's too big for airline overhead luggage. If it was slightly shorter, but wider, it would fit there
And the second: since I carry camera with me, back access is almost a must, especially with a camera cube that has drone and mirorless.
Glad hearing that! How tall are you? I'm 2m and curious whether it'll fit me well, too 😅
I'm 1.93 meters tall@@ynokenty
This is the same harness system as my Karrimor Jaguar 35 years ago. I'm pleased to see the concept has stood the test of time, This looks to be a very good pack, I am going to look out for one.
I also purchased mine after your review video. I am very happy with it. Very comfortable. I will be taking it for the adventure of my lifetime in the Arctic soon.
I love that I can open the main compartment zipper from bottom up too, not just top down.
I have the 100l version, and it's awesome. I've used it several times on camping trips, and it's served its purpose perfectly
I'm getting a second one. Packs a lot of punch for such a small fan.
Yeah the SmartDevil fan is perfect on low setting, the mounts are a little fragile if you drop it but I expect that for the price
❤️🤘😎🔥🏕️
Hi Luke!: Have to add my admiration for this pack. Got one last year and I think it is GREAT! FANTASTIC value for money!
I got mine last year as a stopgap before getting my "dream pack." Never got the dream pack, still using this instead, pretty happy about it.
I like my Osprey Aether 70
The load sharing and lumbar system is amazing
As for going light I love my HL 3500 Southwest
Out of curiosity, which one is the good 2 person tent? The only ok tent they seem to have here in Quebec is pretty heavy for backpacking
Decathlon has killer bang-for-buck in pretty much all price ranges.
In Europe it dominates everything but high-end super specific gear.
Cheers man
Just grabbed this bag in Germany for €90 which is only around $95. Insane pack for under $100
Love Decathlon, first came across it when I was working in Toulouse back in 2008, still a massive fan of their gear. Only yesterday I bought a load of base layers for Autumn hiking, their Solange range of gear and pants are just as good as Fjallraven and a 1/3 of the price
Thank you - I bought this on your recommendation, used it for 42 days and everything you say is true - thank you
I've had the backpack 2years now perfect for what I need but not out that often maybe 7 times a year but still going strong
I love your videos and the way yo talk. Honest and true review. Sending love and respect from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
The Mountainsmith Frostfire 73 has had that same torso adjustment system for many years, I bought mine back in 1997
The sole benefit of my metal frame pack is the pocket on one side to hold the butt of a rifle. I dont usually have the need for it - i dont hunt much - but in some back country a 30.06 is... Well, its like the teddy bear we all used to sleep with.
I also buyed it after this review. In 30km hiking trip I missed the most more wider shoulder straps. Currently they are too narrow…
So for small trips it is ok, but for heavier gear on winter trips this bag is not ok.
(To be more accurate the 50L version)
This backpack is so great.
Some people with 40 l backpack say that they can fit all items inside. But in real life they have plenty of gear attached outside.
There is no tellin' what the hell is in these thickest woods of Dixie, and I know.... he will do his best... to protect us both.
been using this for more than a year, and my only complain is such large backpack when put on heavy load they exerts a tremendous rearward force on a petite physique like mine.
A detachable hood compartment to be occasionally worn in the front would make it perfect. I wish I could modify one.
I just ordered because of your review after going down the rabbit hole of backpacks.
omg $120. this channel has redeemed itself. i got my pack stolen and just bought a marmot/dana design called the bridger. now i know what i lm getting, this pack
This is an excellent video. I hope you keep doing this type of video, as I have to be frugal with my outdoors gear.
I bought this pack based on your previous vidéo.
It served me well on week-end trips but really shone during my two week trip to Moose Factory ans James Bay.
I have thr 50L version of this. But I find it kind of heavy. Used it for minor hike only. Will try it out in a major climb soon.
I just wish it came in more colors. I really wish they would do a green on black color scheme. Make all the red areas green. Would look really good imo.
We have a Decathlon shop here in Telford Shropshire, seemingly some decent equipment, I have only used army surplus before.
This is the Forclaz 70Liter Mt100 backpack. Thank you for this review!
Decathlon also do a 50 litre version of the same bag (in a rather boring grey) which is an excellent 3-season long weekend outdoor pack (without the temptation 70 litres offers to stuff in more than you need!)
3:51 it comes through loud n clear to someone who wears a backpack everyday 👊🏼💥
I got this pack after your review (I actually got 2 of em), and I love em, great value !!
The 70 L is a bit overkill for me though , so I mostly use the 50L .
I have it in the 50l version and it's perfect. But also has disadvantages as small pocket on the waistband, the strings and elastics are thick and heavy- I replaced them all, bottle holder is not the best. But overall, the carrying system is very good, the options of use, the value for money is very good.
Decathlon is the best value brand for outdoors gear.
High quality for vey reasonable prices.
Thanks so much Luke! I've been looking for backpacks for our bug out bags and this pack would be perfect....going to the site next....hope they aren't sold out again....Please tel Suzy Hi!
I have 60L blue variant. Though it's intended for woman, it fits me just as good. And I love it.
Hubby has narrow shoulders and most back packs just seem to overwhelm him. I just showed him your video ..guess what he's doing now!!!??? Lol. Well let ya know soon how it works on him !! Ty so much!!
I trust your words . If it's good enough for you , it's good enough for me . Thank you, Sir .
Hi Luke! Forclaz packs are good and some models are better than this one. You should check the new MT 500 air series. You'll love it i guess🎉
Wow, very impressive on the torso leng adjustment.
I use a wisport RACCOON 65 its a bit heavy but so easy to fit the back system and customize
I got this back pack based on the first review video as a new back packer it has been great for me
Thank you for your honest comments
Kelty has had that torso adjustment for ever. Not taking anything away from Decathlon.
