As some one who has driven the real one. Damn this model has more and deeper details in cab and on the grill than the real one. And yes there is no clutch pedal and the gear selector is on the right whisker on the steering colum...
The older kits were always the best.
And most of them have been discontinued now.
I was really disappointed when I discovered some of the newer models came without an engine.
The engine is half the fun of the build.
it is very difficult to do. very detailed. It was a very nice model.
I was also waiting for this kit for years and right after it was released, I ordered that directly from Italeri. But in my case all those small details that may not be the best, are not exactly so important, because as I have done with two of my previous Scania builds, I will use that kit as a basics to make something different. My previous builds were Scania R620 6x2 tractor and last one, which one I call so far my flagship, Scania R730 8x4 load exhanger.
And I think this S730 will be forest truck with crane and stuff made from scratch.

Perhaps I missunderstood you about the missing of clutch and gearstick, i thought you said it was a sad story that it was missing. But you can only get S cab with opticruise . So thats why there are no gearstick and clutch. But otherwise very intersting video :)
Ah sure, this is a “sad real life story”, but correct on the model, yes.

Pfuu tak toto je hodne smutné. Súhlasím, že na toto sa nedá povedať, že je to akceptovateľné a určite nie pri cene 80€ ( na SVK je v predobjednavke za 72€) a pri tejto cene dostať prakticky len novú kabínu je neprijateľné... To že sú disky recyklované už XY rokov by človek možno prežil, ale vrátiť sa do roku 1998 z polovicou stavebnice to už je riadne smutné... Keď to tak zhrniem tak za 80€ dostanem nepodarený transkit, ktorý bude potrebovať buď komplet scratch podvozku alebo ak vydá niekto nový podvozok tak investovať ďalších 50-60€... Nemám slov...

I have been waiting for this kit for three year and yes I am disappointed too :-(...but you know what could be worst to come with the new DAF in following year and to do it without engine as old model, that would be even more disappointing :-(
Looking on the bright side they haven't done a DAF 105 or MAN TGX job on it
I'm a 1.35 armour modeller I build trucks all the time the modern Man truck 7t I'm doing just now but like these kit's we'll the look of the box art I should say! They are tempting but I do know italiri very well with being an armour modeller I just avoid them like the plaige nowadays! That yellow plastic looks so bad n cheap is it brittle or snaps when cut into it etc? In just very hesitant to get one till I get my 3D printer all set up for fixing bad detail parts etc!
Dougie, there are great kits from them - Iveco Stralis, Volvo FH4, new Mercedes Actros and they do not need anything else than just to be built out of box…but this one is just…not as good as the others.
Sad result for long awaited kit. Italeri produces kit-trucks under licence of the manufacturar, but it seems they do not look close to the details anymore. Most probably because of the costs. Still I think that items that can be directly recognized like the wheels, the mounting of the 5th wheel and some of the engine parts, should be correct. I am most disappointed because those parts are so cheap to mass-produce. The buyers of these models want the details to be correct. Same counts for the exterior color. Sure, most builders will spraypaint the body.. but this 50 years V8 limited model is absolutely not bright yellow as Italeri suggests. Italeri did much better with the older kits to match the colors and the details.
So basically a new cab and one new diesel tank.
