Shit!!!! I don't believe it! They listened to us! Whole bunch of people wanted to see the whole songs, not just the snippets of the playththroughs from the DrumTalk Hellhammer interview and......we get the first one. Thank you so much! Now we just need the rest of them. Please!?!?! The songs, the video quality, Hellhammer technique! Everything overall about those videos needs to be shared with the world, it'll be a shame if nothing else will be shared from that sesion!

One of Mayhem's greatest songs, from their best era in my opinion, with Blasphemer and Maniac.
Badass riffs all over and HH's incredible drumming as usual.
Blasphemer is INCREDIBLY underrated. That guy's guitar work is stellar. This song and Grand Declaration of War are Masterpieces.
That blast beat looks incredibly difficult to play, goes on and on at slightly less than full blast tempo. So much wrist in action. Hellhammer looks fit as ever and doesn’t seem to have aged at all. Very happy to see him continue his magic year after year.
Yep, tricky blast to play at that speed with that consistency. He also changes the tempo like on the record after the roller coaster at around 2 minutes, gets quicker.

As a guy who likes the Power House drummers like the late great Vinnie Paul or Charlie from Anthrax these guys really blow my mind. It's like ballet on the drums with intensity. Grace in motion but yet powerful!!! Awesome

Would love to see something from Ordo Ad Chao which in my opinion has some of his best Mayhem work on it but (and there's a lot to choose from!)
Deconsecrate is wild. Or wall of water. Would love to see him play something like that or rape humanity with pride, that song is too technical and fast to believe he did that. Chimera has a lot of technical songs too.

This techique and creativity is... The One and Only...!!!! The thing i noticed which makes him even better musician is the fact that... They skipped the riff and made a sliced but sometimes cobic mistake:) at some point, but he is the MONSTER that managed to follow and without a mistake bring it to the end!!! FANTASTIC

I love watching him play and try to mimic his Moeller technique. He is an incredible drummer! I just wish this footage was not so dark. I’d like to watch his feet.

A select few of us have also built a Discord server for The Atomic Clock. Gene’s Discord is called the Atomic Cult. I am 52, and am a brand new drummer, and have learned so much! All we talk about is music and gear, mostly. We have mad respect for each other and for Gene Hoglan! Anyway, tell him I pushed my throne away from my kit and that bit I watched on Drum Talk has made me feel more comfortable.

@iAXIS CDT_Operator_X I used to have a whole set and I still use a RUDE hi-hat and 18" Crash Ride and I love 'em. But, as I've gotten older, I tend to go more for the Paiste Signature Series. Maybe I'm going deaf from smashing too many RUDEs!
@iAXIS CDT_Operator_X I wear them to shows, but I can't play with them in. I just hate it and I can't hear anything - especially as I usually play off the lead guitar and singer more than the bass. Actually, my hearing is OK, but thanks for the heads-up!

It's black metal dude. This sort of mix is par for the genre.
@@Syklonus I've been listening to black metal for over 20 years and playing it nearly as long. I'm more than familiar with what is and isn't typical for the genre.
My point was/is, for a drum cam video to have the drums that buried in the mix, it's definitely noticeable and distracting.
I was also genuinely interested in knowing if it sounded that way to others, as it could simply be my speakers squashing certain frequencies for one reason or another.

The title confused me at first glance, since Manheim is the name of the drummer who played in Mayhem before Hellhammer.
He is out of Mayhem since 87. So why so you think they will show boring drumming of Manheim

Nothing quite on par with the significance and influence of Deathcrush though, I would imagine. Which was the point. You may not find him to be a good drummer, but given that he's a founding member of the band, I would enjoy watching him play in spite of him becoming fodder for the drummers' dick waving contest that would no doubt ensue.

I used to love this song back in the day especially the drumming but the part where he lashes out with the double kicks going on the Disc sounds like a machine gun ,on this he doesn't do the same thing unfortunately

Live in Marsielle they play it almost double speed and do what he is talking about. He matches the ride to the kick during a fill. Sounds amazing.

You can set the sensitivity on the computer head to light and get some machine gun sounds.
I love his taste.
That's because here you can barely hear the double bass, and that part it's generally played faster than on the record.
On Wolf's Lair Abyss the drums certainly had an awesome sound and tone. With HH though it's different on every record or era of Mayhem.

I like Hellhammer's playing n all but...Yeah, too BAD I can't hear "it", as it's just a wash of annoying distorted Mayhem guitar "noize". So much for those beautiful Paiste signature cymbals and the way his kit sounds......
