Unless it's a backup/replacement, this year I won't be buying any new products. I decluttered quite a few products and honestly I'm very happy with it. I love make up but I don't want to go overboard with it. I'll also stop trying out new skincare products/trends and stick to the ones I know work for my skin - I can't afford to mess up with my skin barrier anymore, especially with my sensitive skin!
I gave myself a makeup only budget for this year, I divided what I spent last year and added the amount I would spent on 1 foundation, concealer, and my favorite setting spray to it. I tried a quantity limit last year and when I messed up, I went off the rails.
I have started online classes and so I rarely used makeup in 2021 and 2022. Decided in february to go on a lowbuy but I have actually managed a 100% makeup nobuy and Im really proud of myself. I walk through beauty stores quite often for skincare and I used to just pick up random makeup products for fun. So for 2023 I am allowed 3 makeup products(all categories).
I think I've gotten to a point in my makeup collection where I'm pretty happy with what I have and in order to avoid having dupes in my own collection I've become really picky about what I do end up purchasing. I personally won't be putting myself on a low buy or a no buy bc I don't purchase makeup that often but I will be much more mindful of what I already have and actually using it
Good luck with your low buy Judy! I’m also on a very low buy and it’s not going so well. But. I’m learning about my habits and that’s a positive thing.
I think your numbers are good and are pretty reasonable. My only strict no buy this year is bronzer and loose powder. I did a project pan with my bronzer and it took 1.5 years to finish, I have 4 in my collection, it's more than enough. I've been using my RCMA loose powder for over 2 years and it's barely halfway done.
I'm on a no cash/sales only buy! I still have some beauty retailer gift cards and I skipped last black friday for some full sizes because I was not even close to finishing what I still had and decided to let those items stay at the store and then reconsider black friday 2023. My makeup and skincare collection is already more than enough for one person and having space/money for travel is more valuable to me right now.
This is such a brilliant idea! I'll def be making a low buy plan this year as well because I can't stop buying eyeshadow. Maybe this will help me contain myself. Thank you ❤
I think this is a great idea! For the past year, I haven't brought much besides an eyeshadow pallet, setting spray and primer I think this year I'm going to buy a few products from two brands that I have been wanting to try but have been pushing them off. I try not to buy makeup as much cause I haven't really been wearing it as much, but I'm getting back into it slowly.
GIRL. this is so random but PLEASE REVIEW THE COLOURPOP X WINX CLUB COLLECTION!!! i have the palette & i love it sm but i NEED to see how everything else works & i trust ur opinions over anything else.. i also just really want u to buy the palette bc its amazing 😗
I haven bought any foundation skin products in a while and I think I have enough eyeshadow to last a lifetime, I think my only makeup but this year would be concealer
Using testers might be good or buying minis? I take my own container to places like chemist warehouse and pump foundation for testing 😅 Low buy must be hard since it's literally your work. I hope you did check out the Second Skin NZ!
I tend to buy makeup that I don't even use.. so until I actually FINISH some of my products (which probably won't happen this year), I'm not buying any more apart from maybe 1 purchase a month? I have SO MANY back ups for my makeup and skincare that I won't need to buy anything in a longggg time.
Your goals seem fairly easy to stick to which is wonderful! I've stopped buying blushes completely and I simply use lip products that I already own as blushes. I've absolutely been loving it! 🤍

The rules for your low buy are so good! I love the wild card idea. Can’t wait to see what you end up picking up this year!

I just bought the TooFaced born this way foundation after wanting it for years! I’m excited to try it
omg let me know if its worth the hype!
Where would you put eyeliner, eyebrows and mascara? I personally go through a lot of liner in a year🥲
i go through them quickly too that i dont need to put a low buy or no buy for those!

I bought some stuff earlier this month and I think I'm satisfied now

I am doing the pan over puchase project
My goal is no highlighters and 2 lip products

Because of the thumbnail of this video, I thought this would be a list of products you bought throughout the year but wouldn’t buy again.
i need the willpower to NOT buy makeup this year. save me.
