- This is a complete guide to changing the oil on a Simpson 2.5 GPM 3200 PSI pressure washer with a Honda GC-190 engine.
This is also applicable for a GC-160 Engine.
Tools needed:
1 funnel
.6 quart 5W30 for cold weather OR .6 quart 10W30 for hot weather
12 MILLIMETER wrench
(I realize I miss-spoke in the video)
short Tupperware to collect oil
a couple of paper towels to clean excess oil and to check dipstick
This video helped me change mine. The oil change went smooth with the tips you provided were great. Thank you!
Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.
Yes, I use it commercially for residential houses.
Hey, thanks for the excellent video, I appreciate it. Btw........ it's millimeter (mm), not milliliter (ml). Milliliter (milliltre) is a volume measurement.
My bad. Glad it helped!
Nice. Just changed mine and it took around 14 oz to fill.
You are amazing! THank you for making this!!
Could you make a maintenance video of this pressure washer? This is my first pressure washer and I am not sure how to take care of it, specially when storing it in the winter (I live in CT).
Hi, I’ve owned the 3100 model for 6 years, it works like new. Just change the oil once or twice per season depending on how much it’s used, and NEVER run it without hose running. If you find the pull start difficult, just pull the wand trigger to release the pressure. Enjoy!
@@ewc58 I had this happen to me the other day. I got it started but it difficult to pull. I was worried i waited to long to change the oil. But it also ran out of gas at the time so it couldve been pressure in the wand?
@@AureliusD937 Check the oil to eliminate that as a concern. But yes it was probably pressure in the hose that made the pull start difficult
How frequently do you change the oil in the pump?
dont you remove too much fresh oil ?
The manual states to add oil to where it goes half way up the threads (where your dipstick screws in).
You are meant to brim them engines. Forget the dip stick. Fill until its dripping out.
spot on
Matt, awesome job
Thanks!
@@spruceitupyardrenovators3771 where I live, 15w40 mineral and semi synthetic motor oils from renowned brands like Petronas, Motul, Shell,Totachi,Total, Valvoline,Aisin are cheap. I always go for Heavy Duty Diesel multigrade motor oil 15w40 for my petrol generator but instead of the 100 hours oil change as the user manual recommends, I change the oil at 80 hours. No visible smoke, no spark plug fouling and engine runs smooth as usual.
Oh! I live in a warm climate, that's why I use a slightly thicker motor oil
Thanks for the video!! 👏🏽
You bet!
Thank you great video No oil filter ?
Nope.
06:07 it is said that 1) remove cap and why there 2 and 3 plz ?
also i have no idea what kinda oil i must put in the pump, they told me 0,3 0,5 liter of iso 46 hydraulic oil , can you confirm it is good plz ? thank you
Merci 😊
wrench in Millimeters liquid in milliliters :)
I have same washer, my question is, how to use the dispenser hose for soap liquid detergent? I installed the hose but it’s Not sucking it out the bottle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Honestly, I had the same problem. I’m not sure what the answer is.
Me too.@@mattbauman5190
any recommendations if my oil dipstick broke and fell inside?
Does this thing take pump oil too?
great video thanks
can you change/add pump oil to this model
What do
You need to hook up a downstream injector on this unit besides the injector itself
I don’t know if my socket is too deep but I can’t get the drain bolt off. Lefty Loosy righty tighty?? It’s not gripping it enough. Tight space
I vaguely recall having to spin it to the right to loosen it. Give it a shot and let us know!
@@mattbauman5190 I got er done. Just was barley enough room to get the socket on
@@FromTheHood2TheWoods I should have read your comment better. A wrench is definitely the way to go. Glad you got it!
@@mattbauman5190 thanks for your video! I live on a dead-end street only five houses, I just did all the sidewalks and curbs made it look a lot better, the sidewalks were black! You would think the city would do this every few years, I wonder how long it’s gonna stay looking nice and bright
Thank you sir!!!
Good video. It’s 12 m/m, and gas tank.
Thanks
I want to see how to take the old oil out!!!!
Hi there, just unscrew the drain plug and let it drain out as shown 1:17 into the video. Good luck!
Great video
Where can I get a 12 milliliter wrench
Ha! Funny… although you are far from the first person to come up with the joke. As noted multiple times, I misspoke on this free video I made
How often do you change it
Thanks for checking out the video. You need to change it every year or every 40 hours of run time. I keep a tally of every hour of run time.
@@mattbauman5190 got cha. Greatly appreciate you and your time
What is a mililiter?
Hey there, sorry. I meant to say millimeter as you can see in the video description and comments.
I can put 10w30 for car no 10w30 for motorcycle
Canada québécois 😅
You could have pointed the bolt out.
Thanks for commenting on the video. I did point out the bolt and zoomed in at 1:35 seconds into the video. Hope this helps.
12 millimeter wrench
12 millimeter not milliliter wrench.
Thanks but you’re about 5 months too slow on the comment 🥸🤣
Millimeter not milliliter 😂😂😂
Apparently the people that watch one of the easiest oil changes are also professional mechanics. I misspoke. It’s been addressed in the video description and in the comments multiple times but I appreciate you finding this minuscule error and taking the time to point it out 😂
Quit saying milliliter it’s millimeter 🙄
Yes sir. And a tip for you: read the comments before you post.
Maybe remake it 🤔or at lest put it your title 🤷🏻♂️
@@TheKb4049 if you’re so mechanically inclined why are you watching this video 💀💀💀
