Thanks guys you saved me over $300 by DIY and of course bought regulator from you because of this video. More purchases to come in the future i'm sure.
You may have to remove the door panel and see if the regulator is stuck. If the window regulator cable is broke, you may need to free-it-up, so that you can move the window. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Hey, this was invaluable to do the job. Thanks so much! I'm a "light" DIY'er - will do my breaks, oil, basic maintenance. Will consider doing the other stuff that breaks (usually don't) but really hate going into the door. I went ahead because of this video and it went great! Probably took me a total of 2 hours, but I take longer than most for car maintenance/repair. **Only thing missing in this vid is to make sure you put the U-shaped bar back on the correct way - one end is longer than the other and if it's put on backwards, the cup in the switchplate will hit it and force a redo (happened to me).
This was a great video but the window bottom screws were not aligned with the holes. The window was not moving up much to align. I had to take the whole unit out first and tried not to scratch window. It took like 2 hours to get screws undone and window out. It took like 20 minutes to get new regulator and motor in and this time everything aligned correctly. Also, the harness was tough with the cheap plastic tabs. But, all worked well. It just sucked that I did not know any easy way to align screws with hole. Thanks.
Terrific video really, however I wish they would have addressed the "what if" the regulator is fine and it's the motor which failed. My motor failed in the all the way down position. As such the in tact regulator & motor held the window down. I could not get it up to remove the bottom bolts. I had to remove the speaker to cut the cables. It was not easy because not a whole lot of space to work. I did buy the regulator and motor combo form 1A auto and it is working very well.
We currently do not have a auto repair video on this particular application. You may be able to apply some of the basic steps shown in this video that need to be taken, to your vehicle. We carry brand new window regulators on our website for your 1997 Nissan Maxima. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I just bought a regulator from you guys. I reinstalled the regulator as well as the whole assembly just as directed by this video. The window went down, but it will not go up. When I engage the regulator i can hear it trying to move the window, but it wont budge. What could be my issue?
Good video but I wish it was filmed closer to the work area that way I could have saw where the bolt holes were for the regulator and motor. Still a little lost on that
The window motor could be getting tired. You could try to spray the weatherstrip around the window with silicone spray, this will help it to glide easier. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
i put in a brand new master switch. other 3 windows still work. driver side front is still almost all the way up and wont move. how do i get to the window screws holding it to the bracket when it wont roll down?
do you have a video how to repair or fix 2001 nissan sentra power door locks all four doors not working when you press switch you cna hear a clicking sound under the fuse box?
Thanks for the video. What would you recommend for a '01 Maxima with a driver's window that goes down fine but goes up slow and not smooth? When I press the up button it takes it a few seconds to actually go up. Goes up but seems like one day soon it won't.

Thank you for watching! It is possible the motor is starting to fail. Befor replacing it you could remove the door panel and lube up the track for the reguilator, you can also spray some on a rag and run it up and down the channel. These may help the window slide easier making it go faster. Hope this helps! 888-844-3393
+neibeezy Thanks for watching! It could be an issue with the master switch itself, or an issue with the window regulator/motor. We recommend getting the vehicle diagnosed to find out which part you need! 1aauto.com
HI Joel, You should check to see if there's power going to the window motor when the switch is pressed. If there is, then the motor might very well be bad. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

What if the window is stuck in the up position? How do you get it down manually to remove the bolts?
mine's stuck all the way down and i can't get it up to access the bolts either.

Should I change the motor on my nissan maxima 2003?
When I press the window button, I don't heat the motor and window not moving.
Also on my Maxima, the power window switches do not work at all for the rear windows could that also be the motor??
Thank you for watching! It could be motor or the switch.
