Great video. I worked for CT in lima, ohio in 2019 and they closed the terminal. They are reopening it and I have an interview tomorrow. God bless brother
I worked as a casual for Central years ago, for maybe a year and a half, before i moved away ,for another opportunity, the terminal only had, maybe 12 drivers...they were all very good people, managers and office staff were great too....enjoyed working there, the terminal ended up being consolidated with another terminal
I make more here than what my brother is making at J.B. Hunt regional driver, and he has 2 years experience otr. I'm a new driver. My terminal is one of the lowest paying ones as well. It's not for everyone though, and each terminal gots their own way of doing things and quality of equipment which can make or break someone. Only way to find out for yourself is through first hand experience.
I'm guessing you're prior service military since you said PMCS? I slip up from time to time saying that instead of saying pretrip when talking to other driver's. Good video man. Central Transport starts off at $30 an hour here in Dallas for a city driver. Do they have tankers though? Their ad says tanker endorsement is required, which I have.
Yes brother. I was 91D and 12B. I lived in the motorpool, so I'm just so familiar with using pmcs🤣. I've never seen any tankers in ltl, including Central but it seems they all require them for some reason. We do haul a lot of Hazmat here. Doubles and triples endorsement is another big one for ltl, but not so much with central. They do have em but it's really rare to see one, at least in my area. $30hr is a lot man, I wish our city guys made as much here.
Also I was doing my YT research 😂 and luckily I saw your video which answered exactly all of my questions about this company. I’ve been out here for 4 months gaining my experience.😏Keep the videos coming.
My trainer's showed me a few tricks, but for the most part, I had to learn on my own through experience. I'm still learning rn. Again though, my orientation was only about 2 weeks long, and I had a different trainer each week. Maybe I could've requested more time, but I was ready to head out on my own.
@@donn3166i missed this but urine and hair at the 2700 location . it’s smooth honestly just not feeling the speed of the trucks for linehaul…should be better than what it is.
I wanna know why too. Also I wasn't paid the first one or 2 weeks. Then made $500 the 2nd or 3rd week for training pay. It's flat rate too until you exit training.
It's touch freight. If you're a city driver, you use a pallets jack provided by the company to drop off pallets to different companies. I've seen some drivers with 3 stops, some have 10 stops. Afterwards they come back to our terminal and load the nightshift freight, If you're a linehaul driver like what I'm doing rn (nightshift), varies. Sometimes I'm just purely drop and hook, with 4 trips. Other times I'm driving to another terminal, unloading and loading freight with a forklift, driving back to my terminal, unloading and freight then clocking out. Forklift work all depends on your terminal. Some terminals have it mandatory to do Forklift, like mines, others It's optional.
@nailaibai8089 from what I've seen so far, it's just dependent on management if they wanna make it mandatory or not. And the pay varies on terminal. My terminal starts out their city drivers at $25hr, the one in Cincinnati I believe starts them out at $32hr.
Yeah, I got hired on straight out of school. Applied the week after I graduated then went to orientation like 2 weeks after. The application at our terminal says 3 months experience city driver, 6 months experience linehaul but it also says "Recent CDL A grad? No problem, just bring a copy of your transcripts, certificate of completion, and a letter of recommendation from your CDL School when you apply."
Preciate the video bro. I have zero experience but have all endorsements. Trying to get on with them in my city. Do you need to know someone to get in?@@AlexMartinez-bw9dm
@@AlexMartinez-bw9dm damn , yea so I just got my Ls last month . Central offered me a position yesterday for $30 an hour . So I’m a wait till January then just do OTR if I can’t get something local .

I’m bout to apply for the Fort Worth location
Don't get too comfortable because they have a reputation of packing up in the middle of the night and close the terminal. Just bank your money.
I wouldn't blame em with how understaffed some of their terminals are atm. I'm no longer working for em anymore though.
Overtime after 8 work union only. Payed medical dental vision. Last but not least, pension plan.
thanks for the video
Preciate it bro.
What is the daily routine for the city drivers? they just do local delivery stops?
How’s the insurance how much do u pay for a family?
If you don't mind can you tell me to pay after Taxes
Whats the pay per mile for line haul were your at? im from phx!
I make $92.11 to drive 180 miles. Not sure how much that is in miles
Phx starts at 62 cents
Less go 🎉
Thanks uce
Do they withhold 3 weeks of pay? Or what ?
Do they do hair follicle test?
Nah I just had to do a piss test.
In Reno Nevada it’s a hair test at my terminal
If you're asking this question, you're not ready for trucking. Give up your drugs and become an adult..

If you have your CDL then you should know how to back.
I start with them Monday in Atlanta. You get paid direct deposit right?

What better line haul or local for new driver good video
I’d say linehaul to get good road experience but I wouldn’t recommend central they are the worst when it comes to LTL but they will hire anyone though
Wondering why they Pay so much. They offering 34 an hour here in WA. And in idaho 29 hour. Maybe its BS?
Is it drop and hook?
Definitely not. Forklift forsure
The pay is probably true tho
