Seeing this at 10 years old = Cool! Whatever this is, it looks fun and i want to play it! Seeing this in my near-30s = The balls on this guy facing off against 3 nova cats AND an uziel with nothing but pulses and AC? with 8 PPCs against him? guy should've closed the minimum range or at least retreated!
Because sadly newer games are all about trying to make money off players through micro transactions and other dlc. The indie and double AA games are fun though cuz they give a shit about their craft.
It just seems that way. Back then many ideas were fresh and new. Today almost everything was there already in some form. Today's games have it hard to really create something new. We've seen it all.
@@Halomainaic1234 they cant do that due to licencing. But anyone else can, you just need to use a tool to decrypt the files... I already have all the textures on hand... but Ill leave that kind of task for someone else while i stick to my own skillset.
I've always wondered why what appears to be the "Royal Guard" lance wasn't rolling out Atlases or other assault chassis instead of a heavy flanked by 3 lights. That aside, still my favorite game intro of all time!

This one... style, vibe, animations ...that was last true mechwarrior game for me, from times when every game was half simulation of something.

What the hell hit that Shadowcat to knock it out in volley? Artemis? It even managed to trigger an ammo explosion.
I'm guessing those were either Thunderbolt or Arrow IV missiles. The Shadowcat should have had CASE to mitigate that ammo explosion.

I think the director of the cutscene probably wanted them in weaker mechs to show the royal guard getting killed off for drama in the story.

This was a pc only game. You're probably thinking of a different mech game.
