AC deserves every bit of money he made throughout his whole career. I give that kid credit he promised Mitch championship. Mitch believed and got him the outdoor title an AC went through a lot of shit.
Not every rider knows what’s he actually needs and not every engineer knows what he’s doing. The ones that work together to bridge their gaps will go the furthest. This is the same in all forms of racing.
I genuinely think a union would be a huge benefit to the sport. Group the riders into an A and B and C group. Put your Lawrence and Webb and Tomac roczen sexton and deegan into A. Put guys like Andersen and plessinger and Stewart and Craig into B and then I also think privateers should be all into C group. And then put clauses into the union for all level of riders. Make it worth these riders time to get hurt for their time. If a privateer gets hurt. Give him like 10k for the night. If a B level rider gets hurt maybe 50k per race he misses. If an A level rider gets hurt, give them like 75k per race missed rather than nothing. Every job that’s in a union has some sort of injury pay that if you’re hurt on the job you get X amount % of your job till your back. These are the top riders in the world. They need to be able to be paid if they’re hurt on the job. Not rely on bonuses or brand deals. We need to take care of our guys so they can take care of our enjoyment with this sport.
