It's not only chinese investors that made the stock rise, you missed out a big cause, which is short sellers reading the overly positive news and deciding to get out of their position.(short squeeze)

Fun part, FSD v12 is end to end AI, every two weeks or so a new training set comes out, better than the previous.
But at Tesla they need to test new FSD (sub)version thoroughly, fix bugs etc, before releasing it 4 to 6 months later. So Tesla already knows what the future looks like in 6 months.
The date 8-8 is 3 months away. Tesla already knows how FSD performs on 8-8, that's why they are so confident.

No one, just no one, including Dan Ives saw this China deal coming. It is a big big deal, China is 30% of the world auto market and embraces tech. Chinese are going to love FSD and are going to love Robo Taxis more. It’s going to be massive in China and lead the way in the up take of Robo Taxis .

Correct. Analysts are all basically backwards-looking... Trying to explained what already happened... Not very useful. And you're probably also correct about the 8/8 and China connection. Perhaps the first robotaxi product will debut in China in August. Or at least announced to be slated for China first.
Yashu, where is Tesla going to train with the Baidu data? are they moving the data to US computers or renting CCP super computers?

Self-driving tech is as revolutionary as a software-defined vehicle -- most 'analysts' missed this first fundamental transition and are fully prepared to miss the second. Chinese customers LOVE software defined vehicles, and reject legacy auto's lame attempt at EVs because of software. They will also LOVE self-driving. Legacy auto is thus two generations behind -- and fading.
Very good chance the OEM which Tesla was negotiating an FSD deal is likely BYD. It ties into the deal with Baidu in China and another reason for Elon to have gone there. If that is the case, its game over for many OEMs.

@@HitThatBid China aims to be the NO1 in EV; new generation of cars .. EV seems to mandate a safe adn good Autopilot. Coded or neural networks is a better solution. AI is needed for simulation, different cars with different size and power output .tagging on the data. CHina is behind time with the US sanctions. With Global ambition the CHinese ADAS wont cut it as it needs to massage the data for edge cases, different countries idiosyncratic ways of driving in crowded areas.
If US administration is hostile to ADAS and Tesla,/Elon ,all it takes is just a word from the CHinese Govt to make the deal happen and resolve all issues asfter all the Laws have been stipulated in case of accidents... The driving data to be sent within a certian time frame or the person in control of car is liable.I wldnt be surprised that one ofthe companies wld be assigned to do the deal and teh ball starts rolling!
I do not believe that it was a last minute meeting. well pre arranged to gather all those people during the meeting.
finally..people say the cost of FSD is hardly anything.. teh sunk in cost is already 10B for AI hardware excl tech expertise, power etc. Another 10B for year 2024 for been forcasted. Even if one is to plonk the 20B for hardware, what about the data for all the roads.? otherwise it will be like a person driving in a new area/country
I don’t thing at this stage that BYD are that interested in FSD. BYD see themselves as making affordable cars for the masses
Now you need to suggest to Elon to continue the 'free' testing of FSD until the August reveal. The amount of extra miles Tesla will get with valuable edge cases will be huge. Plus it allows nervous early adopters to gain confidence in the system as it progresses over the next few months. I've given up on having my FSD purchase from 2019 be transferable to my newer Teslas (Elon stated as much during the earnings call) but I believe that greater adoption can only be based upon actual experience with the ever improving product. After August Tesla can have a purchase or subscription model that will continually print money.
Thoughts on Tesla actually playing a key part in the regulatory regime that will be put in place, that the standards that will be set will be Tesla’s standards, a bar too high for others trying to get in. Bears have been lauding the idea that regulation will be Tesla’s stumbling block when in fact it can possibly be another barrier to entry for everyone.
I'm pretty sure Chinese FSD data won't be allowed to be shipped to the USA.
That should somewhat dampen the euphoria!
Why would it matter? The rules and customs of the road in China are qui different from those in the US of A. I am no specialist at training AI, but I suppose it could give FSD a headache to train it on different sets of rules.
