- Apologies for the delay in getting this one done. A few other projects & a holiday got in the way. Anyway here they are after completing all the priming and painting. We have a couple of issues to sort out relating to the weak driveshafts and the axles need shimming to tighten up the mesh as it slips in extreme conditions. Apart from those little things we are really pleased how they came out. Thanks for watching.

Hey buddy, thank you so much for getting back to me with the name of the paint that you used on your truck. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to watching some more of your videos. You have a great day buddy, bye.

RCTV
No worries mate, I will check out more of your channel soon (-:
nice
😍👍👍👍💯
Just spotted this on a site and hence why I am now watching videos of it. I hate the fact on a kit that costs so much they are using plastic drive shafts. What are the diffs like? Full metal units or plastic as well? It's also really annoying sounding. I have had low geared stuff before and they don't sound like this thing does. Still it looks so cool.
ok thanks
Hey very good rigs where did you pick up that 8x8 sized canvas cover? I couldent find one anywhere!
Thanks, glad you like them. We made the canvas cover with some brass tube as a frame and some camo material form Ebay sprayed green
question, what esc and what steering servo did you use?
Both trucks looking extraordinarily realistic! Nice work to you and your son! BTW, how are the plastic knuckles and gearbox gears holding up? Had any broken parts yet?
Im considering picking one up from Ebay, my only concern is spare parts. Do they hold up, or do you have to be very carefull when you drive this thing around? Can you buy parts from other trucks and fit on this one, like drive axles etc. I'm just going to drive it in my backyard mainly, then some snow and mud. I got my Axial Wraith and soon a Trail Finder 2 for the heavy duty stuff. :-) I would appreciate if you could help me out with some info as I really want one of these but I'm scared it will break down and just sit on a shelf in my hobby room.
KennethLarsson They are fairly robust, just don;t roll it. I'd advise shimming the crown wheel and pinion in the axles as mine and my lad's slip when under heavy load. Apart from that it seems OK
KennethLarsson Don't buy it on Ebay,go to www.rc cross .com and buy it for $445.00 plus S&H.Ebay is too high.I made the mistake buying it through Ebay and then I found it at www.rc cross.com for cheaper. It was to late for me to to turn down my order so they got me for $630.00.$540.00 for the truck and $90.00 for the S&H.
If you are in the UK, Greens Models do them as well now. Nice guy to deal with too.
Nicely done on both Kats!! , what paint you used for the desert and wheel size
We used Halfords range of camo paints
Great looking trucks :-) I am in the process of building one myself.I was wondering what size figures you are using, and where they are available to buy ?
Paul.
The figure in the camo truck is Matt Parkman from Heroes, the other one is Sam Fisher. They both start off at about 6-7 inches tall and need some leg / backside reduction to fit in the cab. If you search ebay for Neca 7" or Heroes action figures you should find plenty to choose from. cheers. Paul
How did you make the material bed cover?
Some brass tube soldered together and some camo material from ebay sprayed green. thanks.
like the build, and i want to pick one up for myself, how and where do i get one, any info on how would be good,
Sindy Guzman Leon Rodriguez I got mine on ebay, shipped from Hong Kong, just do a search for Cross RC. thanks. Paul
Hey RCTV how do you do the glass?
the kit comes with windows that are frosted, so I used those as a template on some clear lexan / plastic packaging that I had lying around.
Hey, thanks for the reply. What color did you use in the tan truck? Is there a color code or number for that Tan color? Thank you and you have yourself a wonderful day, bye.
William Santiago Hi it is Halfords Camouflage Khaki spray paint, thx
What size driver figure did you use? And where you got the cloth bed cover? Im starting to build one soon
Hi, the driver is Sam Fisher in the khaki one and the camo one has Matt Parkman from the Heroes TV series. The cloth bed cover was some material sprayed green. Good luck with your build.
both about 6-7 inches tall, and need a bit of chopping about depending upon your interior
RCTV oke thanks im very exciting but also a bit anxious to start with the build i dont want to screw it hahaha
Can I ask where you got that nice raised letter "MAN" logo from?
The "MAN" logo was all part of the kit when I bought mine
I have one question for you buddy, what color is that on the tan truck? Is there a name for that tan?I gave you a thumbs up on your video.I think it was very informative.
If that drive shaft broke they would get their 3000 piece junk back. Sorry that happened.
Do you have to build it?????????????.
Can you tell us where you bought it ? (Link?) googling a "rocky's" is useless, there simply are way too many.
+Mandy Hangelo I got mine from Rocky on ebay but it seems like he is not selling anymore. If you are in the UK then you can get them from www.greensmodels.co.uk or direct from www.cross-rc.com. thanks
thank you :-)
