Making DST permanent seems to be the most universally agreed upon piece of legislation that I've seen in years, maybe ever.
Edited: Nixon passed a permanent DST law back in 1974. Public support dropped from an estimated 79% to 42% during the winter, so it was repealed. The deaths of at least 6 children in FL were attributed to the darker winter mornings.

It's more dangerous to cross the street in the dark than in the daytime. That's the correlation.
@@Sports_BS I misremembered the story. "According to Wikipedia" At least 6 children in FL were killed due to the darker winter mornings, but it was a Federal permanent DST law that was temporarily in effect in 1974/75
@@Sports_BS there's something to it tho. If it goes I to effect the sun won't rise until after 8am on the east coast and not until nearly 9 in the Midwest. People will be commuting to work and school in the dark and cold in winter. Roads will be more icy and traffic accidents will inevitably rise in dark icy conditions.

@@elijahmoore7692 nope, but i think there are some within an hours drive. I absolutely love Wyoming, I go to the hot springs in Saratoga a few times a year.

I went snowboarding for the first time on my 23rd birthday last year and I can say being sore is a understatement 😂😂😂it was fun and different I recommend to anyone, I saw people skiing as well it looked fun I’m going to try it one day. Just know for rookies you’ll fall a lot, I fell over 30 times. Bring your own snow suit! I thought they gave you one, they give you everything but that, I was up there freezing in a great birthday outfit😂🏂
Pat come to Seattle in June. We’re further north than the most northern tip of Maine. Doesn’t get dark til 11:30pm.

Just FYI... they are not getting rid of daylight savings time. They are making daylight savings time permanent all year round. Just the opposite of what Pat said. LMAO
Right, but that still means no "falling back" with the blocks in fall. They'll "spring forward" in March and stay that way now, which means more afternoon sun in the winter.

Love Congress passing legislation for day light savings time, but we’re still paying $5 a gallon for gas. How about we start producing our own energy again and worry about the clocks jumpin ahead or rolling back when it doesn’t cost $70 to fill a tank.

The expensive gas is on purpose for their green energy agenda. Not that they’ll push the cleanest energy in nuclear or upgrade the grid to handle everyone going electric though. Good jobs and cheap energy come from producing it at home, and it’s better for the environment than having unregulated enemies ship it across seas too

We do produce our own energy, when prices go up worldwide our companies also raise their prices too; they’re all private businesses with responsibility to keep up with market demand, gasoline sales is not a government service subject to price controls…

I am guessing he is in Steamboat Springs. Had to drive the 1.5 hours to Beavercreek or Copper. If you are ever in the area take rd 134 (gore pass) from Kremling to Topannas...most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Where was AJ skiing? Makes me think of Panorama near Radium Hot Springs in British Columbia, Canada.
Go Skiing at Ski Brule in Iron River, Michigan in the UP. It's the home of the oldest US winter gold medalist Nick Baumgartner.

Ya my grandma had 93 clocks in her house. It is such a pain to turn them back.
Indiana just recently adopted daylight savings, we were one of two states in the continental US that never changed our clocks. Come to think of it we changed it about the time the Colts got a new punter. Maybe they changed because it would have confused the yinzer to much.
Yup - I grew up in Indy when it didn't change, and when I moved elsewhere I never really got used to the weirdness. Now I live in Japan, which also does not change. So I'll be happy when the whole US picks a time and stays with it so I don't struggle to calculate the time difference ("Hmm, let's see... it's March, so is California 16 or 17 hours behind us?").
