Another great Kelly Galloup fly fishing video! The suspense is building. Will Kelly get the 30” trout? That is incredibly difficult. A trout of that size is old and very smart. However if anyone can do it, it’s Kelly. I patronize his fly shop and the Slide Inn because everything that Kelly touches is incredibly well done and a great value. He has a great, talented staff of fly fishing enthusiasts that are incredibly helpful.
I met Jerry out of Bozeman on a United flight to Denver, sat next to him and he talked my ear off the whole way! Riveting guy, i had a great time getting to know him in that short flight, and he had a lot to say for his friend. He air-dropped me this video which was a pleasure to watch thank you! Keeping the rest of us motivated.
Thank you for sharing your hunt for a 30" trout on the fly. I have landed three at 30 "plus with my minnow fly here in Idaho , Its so hard to find waters that holds 25 to 30 inch trout. Great stuff Kelly. More to come. 🦈
Congrats on Mill House episode, I haven't gotten around to it yet. Saving that one. On the fishing for these large trout. What the guys who fish Alabama rigs have noticed (they can for a first time observe 'depth' of A-rigs on electronics underneath water), is that the larger bass they catch move around a lot less in day two. However, things such as A-rigs at this time in winter can appear 'out of nowhere', as things like the A-rig can lure them out. One way to 'test the theory' maybe, could be to organize five or six anglers all throwing Zoo cougar's at a fishing target, . . just to ascertain if the presence of sudden bait fish activity is capable of changing behaviors of large predators. It's often considered that multiple anglers fishing shoulder to shoulder would not be desireable, and I agree. However, from a fish behavior point of view it may not deter as many large fish as we imagine.
When I met you in your new shop the zoo cougar in olive was an absolute must have I tie them myself too of course but coming in and meeting you Kelly it's that fly I wanted more than any other in your selection. Of course I bought a bunch more but this fly is my favorite streamer.
Kelly I have a question. I fish the Farmington River in CT and we are wading runs that are usually a few hundred feet long.(vs miles of float water) Would you still do the same quick color change routine in that small of an area where you are throwing to the same fish?
@@dblkluk@dblkluk... for sure... and more power and credit to Kelly for doing so!! I thought such close-cropped visuals kept the viewer more engaged in the great conversation of a master of his craft.
Just some respectful and hopefully constructive feedback here. I can’t really see the fishing in this video. There is lots of face time but I kept waiting to see another angle. What you’re saying is pretty damn interesting though. I own all your books, and watch and listen to your content as much as I can. Can’t wait to see the rest of this series.
Way, way, WAY too much face time and very little actual fishing where we see water, casts, retrieves, etc. I don't care to see your face as you are fishing. I want to see "fishing", NOT fishers.

Support the Slide Inn so that Kelly can afford a Battery Tender.
And get some Dakota Lithium Batteries.

Looking for the 30 in Idaho really hard this year. You're right, not too many waters that hold them. Especially rivers.
Great stuff, thanks for the teaching in your travels.
On the fly , perfect name for your podcast

Excellent stuff!
Is that a 6wt or 7wt rod with that 6/7 Cortland line?
Love the content!
What river is this? Didnt catch it.. those rainbows are insane.
Better use of time than getting clients set up on snaggin rigs! Thanks for the vid
I hope this is a series
."we learn from you forever "
Mad respect for keeping the backgrounds out. The fishery will thank you and hopefully keep on giving.
Sweet! looks like the 'Horn...great river, was better in the '90s!
On his past videos Kelly says dont hold your tip high , yet he fights all these fish with the tip up.
Are these unnecessarily long shots of Kelly's face and body meant to protect locations or just bad filming?

If you're confident you've passed fish and they didn't eat it, try something different.
Nice video. Where are you fishing for the 30
Weird angle for the whole video. It’d be cool to also see the water and background sometimes
He's catching streamer eaters in their mid 20's; he probably doesn't want to spot-burn.
Pretty obvious they are protecting the location.

I fish this river a lot and it’s a hidden gem that will get ruined with lots of pressure.
Horrendous camera angle. Couldn’t get through the video.
Show the fly
Where are you fishing??? Strange video
Big redsides in the grass along the banks of the upper Deschutes in Oregon.
People complaining about angle ever consider maybe hes trying not to blow up a spot?
I’m sure he’s trying not to…butttt welcome to being a fly fishing celebrity and if your on You Tube good luck with that!!!

they are trying to keep the location a secret. so they are tight close ups to avoid giving out info that could help figure out where they are fishing.
Don’t leave the small flys out of your arsenal when your on the HUNT for the incredible elusive 30 incher .This guy is so lame
Uff Da!

You sound like a crybaby bitch.😢
Too much complaint for a free Galloup video~ If you dislike it, *uck off! 😉🙂↔️😙
Agreed, ignore the Fanboys. I've come to the conclusion that his vids are .. blah blah blah.
