Kenny, thank you so much for the info. I've been producing for a little over a year now and every little tidbit learned is another step into getting better.
So helpful! I've been playing the guitar 2 years now, and I'm at the point where I want to take the next step and start learning how to produce so that I can put out my own music. Not gonna lie, it's a daunting task but I'll take it one day at a time.
This is brilliant, thanks Kenny Beats and She Is The Music! I've learnt more from this video about about warping and tempo matching than many hours of other videos. I've been learning Live this last year and I'd get stuck if something didn't auto-warp spot on. Today seeing the setting of the original BMP is a revelation! Thank you!
This is actually probably the most helpful video on producing I've ever seen. Answered more questions in the first five minutes than most of the hour-plus long tutorials out there.
@@paulopalacio6437 sampling in Ableton is much better. But step sequencer and piano roll are better in FL! I use both now, cuz I can run Fl through Ableton

Thank You dude, for sharing your knowledge, and inspiration with everyone, super dope. as a brokeish aspiring producer it means a lot to me and prolly lots of us out here. Big Up!
Hearing the piano plus the metronome actually kinda matched well. I wonder if anyone has ever used a metronome like that as a type of hi hat/percussion
Kenny you're beats are always fire! I like how you set up basic loops to get a vibe going for the artist before digging deep into it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us!
@Tony Montana As someone who just switched to ableton too (and is still novice level), FL has more options and possibilities, but those are gated behind like 5 more drop down menus in places you will never find them or even decipher what they are for. Hi ! I've been producing for a few years now (i'm not an official artist so feel free to roast me if you don't agree with me hehe) i'm sample based, don't know shit about music theory.. So ! I used to warp my sample to match transients, manually, not like he did (don't do that, except for the harder sample you may find that doesn't really have a constant bpm) that distorts the sound (may sound good sometimes though). Another way to get it done, imagine you got a few samples that are already matching your bpm, but now you want the rest of your sample to keep the bpm (assuming your sample isn't constantly on your bpm) just warp the few already good samples, then by just looking at your desired sample on your rack, you can see whenever it's on beat by looking at the grid and manipulating the bpm knob on the top left of your ableton, now assuming you've got your master bpm matching the original sample bpm, just warp it, turn your "master" bpm back to where you wanted and boom, your sample matches your bpm. It's a "trick" i've discovered myself by learning ableton all by myself, it seems to be harder than Kenny's technique, but it is absolutely not. But i'm gonna use his technique from now on, since it seems to be the easiest way to do it 😅 Music is amazing, sampling is an art i'm seeking and which i will master, have a good day everyone !
@@DaveDEF82 🤔 interesting. Well, I don't really know how to play keys either but I can do enough to build a melody or use a sample to make one. That other view I see everyone use, I rarely use besides to record the sequence after I did all I can in performance view
8:00 when you set the tempo to 180, is warp scrunching the beat down from 180 to 145? Assuming that the metronome is clicking at 145? and this works better because 180 to 145 is a smaller difference from 80 to 145? and warp keeps the timing that is built into the sample but makes it "fit" with the tempo that is set in the global setting (145 aka your project tempo)?
