- In the final vlog from our Summer 2020 European Road Trip we head to Parc Astérix in France! Join us as we share on ride POV's from all of the major rides including OzIris, Tonnerre de Zeus, Pégase Express and many more. Along with that we experience various different water rides on offer at the park including one of our favourite ever log flumes, Menhir Express! We also take a look at the social distancing measures put in place by the park and share our thoughts on the overall operation.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has joined us on our adventure across the past 15 days visiting a variety of different theme parks across Europe. We'll be sharing a highlights video from our awesome trip tomorrow!

Being from France, and parc asterix holds so many of my childhood memories, ive gone there since i was a kid, so like 20 years ago^^ the truth is the park is more and more filled with big groups of teenagers, who dont really care, that's the real difference with disneyland paris..
As a french, i am very happy to see foreign people visiting my favorite amusement park of France ! I hope you enjoyed it ! Don't forget to come back in 2023 because a new powerfull coaster will be built ! His name : TOUTATIS !!!!! This one will be the most fast and powerfull coaster of France !

It’s such a shame people didn’t want to follow the rules
Been to the Efteling the other day. The Efteling itself is doing all they can and enforcing the rules but it's the people itself that don't care. And when i told some people. I did this 5 times and 3 of those times i almost got into a fight because they were those conspiracynutters who don't believe in Corona and rather don't believe the government, and in the process infect people around them cause who cares?
It is a shame Shawn, especially as at almost all the other parks you visited people were respectful of each other and socially distanced themselves. In the case of Parc Asterix though, those loading operations were in complete opposition to government guidelines on the flying carpet, log flume, and raft ride at the end. Whether people wanted to socially distance or not, they had no choice in those cases 🤷🏻♂️
If you are disappointed by the social distancing in a park, shouldn't you just leave the place? I wonder how much right you have to criticize people for not social distancing if you stay in the place and travel all over europe. I hear everyone criticizing other people after they went to some theme park, yet they are there too, not leaving. I know a lot of people are not believing in the virus (which is because governments are taking the wrong measures mostly). I sure stay away from theme parks for a while. Mouth masks can maybe stop a virus from spreading, but it's very bad for your health.
@@Planco2sensei So for years and years doctors and nurses and other medical services have worn masks continually and I don't see any of them suffering with there health because of them .

I feel sad the summer road trip is over. I feel like Iv been there every day with you. I’m a couple of days behind and can see that you are now doing the British theme parks. The fun never stops. My first exposure to the Asterix franchise was through playing the arcade game on MAME. I had no idea it was this massive universe that is popular in Europe until I saw Parc Asterix. I couldn't believe how well themed and world class the park is, and it is now high on my bucket list of parks to visit in Europe!
It sure is a great park with some awesome coasters!
I grew up walking distance from disneyland Paris but park asterix always had been my favourite. I'll totally go back there if I come back home. Thriling to see all the new rides. I loved the feeling walking in the mains streets too, all like in the comics. Shame about social distancing. Though, traveling abroad is not really what I would consider as responsible during a pandemic.

Loved all the videos from this European road trip. Shawn is a rare breed of UA-cam vlogger who keeps putting out great content and makes it look so effortless. A lot of UA-cam channels seem to become watered down overtime, but theme park worldwide just seems to keep on getting better. Even during in lock down you managed to put out some great content; I watched the bookworm videos with my 7 year old daughter and we watched your videos before going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Drayton Manor and Chessington in the last two weeks. Congratulations on a great channel and thank you for sharing your latest road trip with us.

Love the look of Parc Asterix, watching these are awesome, but also depressing, because I'd have been on my Gold Coast trip right now if it wasn't for Covid... Ohwell, poor form by there team with all the different loading processes there.

We just got back from Alton towers and our decision to go was based on your review of social distancing when it reopened.
Our collected view was that the park did everything to make it safe and there was a few people that let it down but to see a company putting money before safety is Disgusting.

Would love to visit, such a great looking park. Very sad their irregular practices in social distancing is very poor. Sadly, one park that will not be visited very soon. However, great video Shawn and Charlotte, very informative.

I love Parc Astrix and for me Oziris is my best B&M Invert. Loved your European vlogs! Normaly planed a trip to Parc Astrix but bloody hell...when I saw how they are handeling with social distancing I will skip my plan! Keep up the good work!

I think a 6 person rapids, you could do a duo and a single rider but should be 1 party. You could do 2 pairs, may 2 trios for 8 or more seats.

Goudurix would be incredible if it had the Blue Hawk treatment (new trains, rough track reshaped, was also a vekoma), cause the layout and pacing is actually spot on. They should really consider that, it would make it a great coaster.

Hello, first time ever I comment on one of your vlogs. I follow you for some years now! It was a great trip you had with Charlotte and your interaction with her is perfect! You guys are a great team! Love both of your opinions and you guys are always so friendly and optimistic.
Next time you are in Germany you should consider visiting Bayern Park Freizeitpark. Have seen that you haven't visit that amusement park yet. I'm from Belgium and been there some years back. It is a small family park but I was very impressed of the accommodations in how they keep things running and the variation of attractions. It's simply is such a beautiful neat park. Almost like a hidden pearl in the world of amusement parks. And yes they have goats for Charlotte so bring her along too.

Zierer Hornets - Only 2 ever produced.
The first ever opened, Vol d'Icare, is the more well know of the two, at Parc Asterix.
The second, Hornet, operates at Flambards, and just happens to be the most southernly rollercoaster in the UK. Makes me... Proud (not sure if that's the right word) to be Cornish.

Great vlog, went to Parc asterix a couple of weeks ago with the wife and kids. Really enjoyed Ozirus, its crazy but the most forceful part of the ride is the last few turns before the brake run, i think you may have said that yourself in an old vlog. I agree with you about Gouderix though definately a one and done for me too.
Yesterday I was at Thorpe park when the video was released so I was watching it whilst I was there

Love your videos one of the best themed inverts in the world they really knocked it out of the park with the theming. It’s not as good as Montu but the theming is far superior.

I finally made it to Asterix in July after several EuroDisney trips down the years, had an absolute ball, great rides, had a lovely stay at the Trois Hiboux hotel too, it's certainly more Gallic than Disneyland, but no less good. And if going there makes the pro-lockdown brigade who love the idea of spending life behind the sofa trembling while calling people who go out and do stuff "Covidiots" angry, then it's even better! Keep it going man!

It’s such a shame when people can’t seem to follow the rules for the safety of everyone
It is strange you have to keep the distance in the queue lines but not on the rides itself (like that carpet ride and the logflume).
That park must draw 1 line with respect to the social distancing rules and avoid any contact with strangers on any ride.
Indeed, unacceptable. And strangely enough, I expect the minimum measures in this park. Parc Asterix is a park that can be very strange, and visitors are often pushy and sometimes even annoying. But the attractions remain beautiful and fun. Astérix has a very strong name in France. But in corona times, this is a park is one to skip. Anyway, beautiful journey you have made, I followed every vlog with pleasure. Hopefully there will be a European trip in the future with smaller parks such as Fort fun, Belantis, Plopsa coo, Fantasiana (there you are guaranteed to get a backstage tour from the owner) or Walibi Sud Ouest.
