For some weird reason some youtubers think they need to pull their old videos to move on from that "Cringey" time in their careers, even though that shit is what the fans who have been around longest love and tend to recommend to people.
Me too! It's part of my daily routine I make a cup of coffee and start watching them again. :)
Yes! And, for me, genuine reactions are most present in those old videos.
I absolutely love watching these Let's Re-play's of really classic awesome old school games, ^ but I totally agree ^ -- it would be so cool to see your first time absolute reactions & responses alongside with the newer editions for such great games! Would love to see the shock and awe of experiencing all of RE7 after all the hype you had for the demo's for the first time, or the mind blowing secrets hiding within The Room [SH4]. Either way, love the content you put out! Thank you for putting in the time and effort to replay these again. :)
I highly doubt that gab would take them down for that reason
I have a high appreciation for Gab keeping things spoiler-free. Most horror games she's replaying (eg. Silent Hill, Resi, etc etc), I haven't had much exposure to besides hearsay from friends and other creators. Makes me happy and I appreciate the inclusivity!

Me too! I just recently played the new Silent Hill: Short message, and didn’t like it very much... But I was told by a friend that the original three were the best, so here I am catching up!
@@inexena your friend is right, the original three, and maybe the 4th games are the only games claimed by fans lol. Later games are unfortunately a dilution and a disgrace made by the greedy corporation after kicking out the og developing team
I remember in old videos gab would sometimes reload her old save and redo things if she felt she didn't do it good enough. I'm so happy she can play these games without worrying that she's "not good enough".

I used to watch my father play these games when I was growing up. I lost him a number of years ago. I've definitely played them all more than I can count, but being able to watch someone else play it is kind of a comfort thing to me. So thank you for this content. I'm really glad I've found your channel.
Just seeing Silent Hill 1 again gave me goosebumps. This is the most memorable Silent Hill game for me.
Definitely, especially if people were lucky enough to play it as kids/when it was shiny and new. It was absolutely terrifying! I remember waiting outside of doors getting myself hyped, mentally prepped and ready to go in, not knowing what to expect because I was so scared. (I was 10 lol)
@@kitsulu8576 Yeah, but I was born in 1997 though I'm thankful that my dad introduced me to this game. This game was one of the first videogame that I played along with some Sega dreamcast games. This really warms my heart.
Same, eventhough a lot of people love sh2 more but there’s something about the first one that I like more. Probably because I played the first one way more many times.

@@kitsulu8576 I first played it as a demo which was included with metal gear solid. I was about the same age. Then waited and saved up for the full version. It is definitely my favourite SH.

These are good games to Angel of death , dead space, subnautica, AI: the somnium files,Darkwood, The Forest,I saw black clouds, she sees red and finally yomawari: the long night collection .

I just watched the Silent Hill movies for the first time last night, and immediately came to UA-cam to binge-watch the game playthroughs for the first time, as well! It’s hard to find anyone playing the older games, especially from a newbie’s perspective. You’re awesome for this!!
I'm really excited for this, and happy that it's spoiler-free; never seen any of this. Actually, this channel has 'taught' me alot of gaming culture, as this is also the place were I first met Link (sorry, Goobers) and his crazy adventures. So really looking forward to seeing another classic :D

Akira Yamaoka's music is so hauntingly beautifully composed and the sound design in this game is just a joy for the ears!

I remember being so scared of playing Silent Hill and Resident Evil when I was a kid 😁I was so scared that I had to call my parents to sit in the room with me.

It's fascinating, that the atmosphere in SH is still so strong, with "just some fog" and that eerie sound design. (Many) Modern Games can still take their notes from these classics

I've said this a million times so hope it doesn't get old - I'm so happy to see that you can enjoy things more now! It makes a lot of sense because our mental well-being affects everything we do and being healthier means you're more emotionally available in a sense, to get immersed. I loved SH1 back in high school and have played through to SH4. Looking forward to catching up on this playthrough

In the silent hill games they get saved as memos but its just easier to take pictures on your phone or take notes to look at instead of checking the memos 😅
This is the third time I’ve come back to rewatch this. You make this game so relaxing, it’s not even a horror game anymore.

I adore your playthroughs, they're always so much fun and your reactions are so genuine and entertaining. I grew up watching my older siblings playing horror games that I was too young to be good at, so watching you play things like RE and this give me such a sense of nostalgia.
I remember and love your older videos. NEVER feel ashamed for them. Life ist constantly changing, but no matter when, you are always YOU. And therefore it's natural and good.
You may not remember, but YOUR videos made me buy the Japanese Limited Edition of RE Remaster ;)

I'm really glad that gab keeps her redo playthrough spoiler free. Because this is the first time that im actually watching old horror games, since my parents doesnt want to spend money on games and i really didnt want to back then.

Oh god! I remember watching my dad play this when it came out in 1999, and I got to play it myself in 2006! I love this game the most, with SH3 coming a very close second! Wish they’d rerelease this game!

I remember when Silent Hill 2 got a "sort of" re-release a couple years ago and it looked so bad. Konami released some statement that as a company they had "lost" most of the voice-acting and game development files for the SH series so they couldn't re-release the games and could only "update textures".
It seemed like such a weird statement at the time, but thinking about it, I'm not sure Konami would ever want to put the time or energy into really polishing up these games and putting a dev team together to remake them. Such a shame though.

I’m one of those people have never seen the first Silent Hill. Back then I didn’t have or know anyone who had the means to play this game. The first time I saw a Silent Hill game was SH3 at my friend’s house right after we watched the questionable Silent Hill movie. Her older brother was trying to scare us but I LOVED it and thought the game looked so cool.

Ever since you announced that you would be replaying this game I have been SO hyped. Silent Hill has had such a grip on me since I first played Silent Hill 2, and then I went back and played the original and it solidified that this game would change the way I look at horror video games. I have my coffee, many blankets, and the sound way up to hear that familiar music. This is going to be such a cozy and comfortable journey. So happy.

Nightmare: The game. The atmosphere and the sound track in this game were intense. Talk about a love/hate situation. The bad graphics and controls actually enhance the dread.
This is actually the series that made me subscribe! I just loved her playthrough and how in-depth she goes so this makes me super happy and excited for more!

I have something to confess. Your first Silent Hill playthrough was the reason I found your channel back around in June 2015, which was also around the time I started my first playthrough of the game. I got stuck on a puzzle and needed help, so I found your videos which helped me progress further. So here's the funny part; I played the game on and off whenever I was in the mood, progressing little by little, and till this day I have not completed that first playthrough 🤣🤣🤣 My last save file was at the boat on the dock after the encounter at the lighthouse, and I think I left off with low inventory items. Now I'm just wondering if I'll be able to finish the game with the little items I have left...

I remember being a kid and my uncle showing this game to me as the Scary Game. He used to say it was so scary that I wasn't allow to play it, and I as a seven year old, believed him. This game brings me this old vibes of being a naïve child watching my uncle playing video games and I miss it so much... I'm sure I will enjoy this series in a very different and nostalgic way haha

Gabs is my go to for almost every game but when she plays horror games it's a real treat every time. Very happy I get to see another playthrough of one of the best horror games ever!

Glad to see you back on the original. One small thing that might help you, as one of those things in the instruction manual that might be forgotten, is that you can use left or right on the d-pad to switch which enemy you are aiming at. I will be looking forward to this playthrough, and would like to see you give Homecoming another shot soon as well. I think you will like it more than the first time, where it seems that the controls were really giving you trouble.

I've watched most of your Silent Hill playthroughs for 2/3/and 4. I just finally played 1 and finished it and I completely agree with you that 1 is the best of those 4 games. Just the sounds of the alarms and the poor resolution makes my heart race every time I see one of those monsters. I remember 1 giving me nightmares when we first played this game when I was 9.
I've played this game first when I was 12, 20 years passed and I still haven't experienced that much of fear and stress from a game again. To this day by far is the greatest horror game I've seen. Masterpiece.
There's quite a few people here saying silent hill 1 is their favourite one, I've never seen that before
I just recently broke and dislocated my shoulder so i was towards the end of resi 8 and now I’m not gonna be able to finish playing it, not for a while anyways. So I’m really grateful that not only can i watch your play through you’re also hitting me with this beautiful gem of a game. And Nancy drew as well. A few years ago I watched u play silent hill 2 and I absolutely loved watching the game, especially since I never had seen any of the game. It wasn’t until just last year when I played silent hill 2 for myself when I realized just how scary the game actually was. I’m glad ur playing this too, it’s such a great game

I love how I'm this era of games, there were always *exorbitantly* long pauses between voice lines. 🤣 So awkward
I was so excited to hear you were going to play this game as my sister and I had a love-hate relationship with it. We only had the demo of this game which covered the school section and I would frequently have awful thoughts of the trolls trying to get me while I was in bed (which is why I slept as close to the wall as I could!) I never played it until very recently because it was always fun to watch my older sister play and shriek in terror when the trolls would approach and grab your leg! I'm so happy you're playing this as I've never seen the rest of the game! Another game I closely tie to Silent Hill just because it's also ps1 and nostalgic for me is the original Alien Resurrection. I would watch my mum play and I remember being only 3 or 4 and hiding behind the couch but still wanting to watch! Thank you Gab for letting me relive my past! ❤️

I was 11 years old when I played this game the first time. Back then the graphics seemed mind-blowing and it scared me so much I had nightmares. I never finished it because my anxiety was already so severe at that age. And yet, it was the game that made me fall in love with the horror game genre.
Now, I have youtubers to play the scary games I love but don’t have the courage to play myself. I’m so excited to watch you play! Your commentary always makes the games more interesting (and a bit less terrifying) in the best possible way!

The greatest thing about replaying these games Gab is that we can look at it from a different perspective now!
So if the 1st time watching you (and playing it myself) I'd focus on getting scared and shocked by the story, now I can see it to understand the turn of events, major plot stuff and even the little details in the game itself ♡
