Yes, You not only heard the songs Robin sang, you also felt them! The emotional deliverance combined with Robin gorgeous voice is indescribably beautiful!! This is one of my very favorite songs. Notice how intense Robins voice starts getting towards the ending... Almost crying out the lyrics! #Chills😍
Robin said that much of this song was ad-libbed, which to me adds to the stunning nature of his talent. Not only that he, Barry and Maurice were writing immortal hits like Words and To Love Somebody when they were just teenagers -- but that Robin could go into the studio and essentially write this gorgeous song as he went, recording it in a single take.
Thanks, Chad! You really get the BeeGees. I wasn’t a big fan in their disco days, but a few months ago I started down the rabbit hole and am still there. They were unique and brilliant, and exploring their music is a wonderful trip. I’ve watched quite a few of your reactions and you express many of my own opinions. So glad I found your channel!
Robin continued to do this song. I think he did it in 1997 One Night Only Las Vegas show. And it still sounded fantastic. I don't know how anyone can listen to it without their eyes watering up.
I remember Robin singing this in Wembley Stadium, London. The entire show was amazing but when he stepped forward and began this one you could have heard a pin drop as everyone was just enthralled.
I was fortunate to be at the concert at Festival Hall in Melbourne in 1974, saw the Bee Gees again at the Tennis Centre in Melbourne in 1989 and then saw Robin perform at the Palais in Melbourne, one of the last concerts he did before his unfortunate passing. Thank you for taking me back to revisit those most wonderful, glorious times
Sweet sweet Robin with his amazing voice….born in 1953 I grew up with their music and still after all these years I find myself watching them on UA-cam before I go to bed…. they accompanied me throughout my life…
Me, too! Born in '53. This wonderful group (and Robin especially) have gotten me through some really rough days. I really don't think I could ever get through the rest of my life if it weren't for my daily dose of Bee Gees!
Very much the same, for me.Born in ‘51,and loving them, since the first time I heard Robin’s voice,I love them all,of course, and they are my time for bed group. Usually Too much Heaven.
Oooh 1974 in Melbourne. Mr Natural tour. Robin is just wonderful!! This song fit him perfectly. Yes, you hit on the solemnity. The vibe is real. Mo even left him alone for this one. 💞
What a giant hole there would be,in the world,if the Bee Gees hadn’t existed.I just hope they knew how much they were loved,by their fans, and that Barry still does.💘🇬🇧
Love this concert Melbourne 74.... Robin sang lead on this song beautiful! He also sang I can’t see anyone and my favourite I started a joke ❤️ He was truly amazing. This is the best of Robin...Love him Always and Forever “ The voice” ❤️🙏❤️
Oh, Robin !!!! He sounds like an angel ascending to the skies. That vibrato is so powerful an instrument. Thanks, Chad. This one really touches me. Much love.
I really needed this tonight. Robin’s performance was angelic. I saw Bee Gees live in early 70s. Robin actually wore this same shirt. I cherish my memories
How beautiful. This is the song that finally made me a long-life Bee Gee fan. I remember hearing it somewhere and was immediately overwhelmed. I haven't heard it for ages after that. I didn't have the record, but when I heard the song again after years, I felt the same as I did then. This unique voice, the melody and of course the lyrics; esp. “ cause love to me is life and I live you”) I read somewhere that the first recording in the record studio was so good that it was fully used for the release. Only the orchestra was added. Brilliant talent as its best. Thank you Chad for this reaction!
Absolutely beautiful singing from this beautiful man. I love this song. This gives me chills to watch him sing this. I don’t care what video it is of him. I just love Robin Gibb ❤️❤️
So gorgeous and emotive - only Robin's unique voice could achieve the spiritual undertone. I feel, over the years that Robin's true talent was sometimes quashed because of the use of Barry's falsetto on most songs....But oh how I love the BeeGees - I still cry when I think of Robin and Maurice no longer with us. 😥

In an interview with just Barry he was saying how people on TV would make fun of his voice. He said they did it because it was easy to do but no one ever made fun of Robin's voice because it couldn't be done. His voice was so unusual and couldn't be duplicated. All I know is if I hear a song from Robin it will me stop in my tracks. If you read anything or listen to any interviews by Robin you will hear about his spiritual thoughts. Instant CHILLS!! Wow, Robin's voice....this song is a very moving one. Then again, Robin's voice is just so soothing! Thank you Chad, for bringing all these songs I have never heard. At least I can say at 53 of age I have heard a BIG deal of these beautiful ones songs! Peace and Love
This song sends chills down my back. Robin is at his best here, and the lyrics are amazing. I remember Barry talking about how Robin had this dark, yet almost spiritual side, and the songs that he sang lead on reflected that. But this song has a line in it that I think is pure poetry. "For love to me is life, and I love you." Then he follows that profound thought with, "Then I wake up. Then I grow up.' Wow!
I love this song! Its just so beautiful. The album version was recorded in one take and Robin improvised some of the lyrics on the spot. The line, "For love to me is life, and I live you" expresses so much depth of feeling in so few words. Those words and Robin's vocal is absolutely captivating.
One of my favorite concerts😍 THE ENTIRE THING IS PURE ENTERTAINMENT...BEE GEES AT THEIR BEST, STRONG❤ Robins voice is angelic, but his sound is only this way within the group, I never thought it sound the same by himself, even this solo...is within the group. Angelic is the perfect word to describe Robin’s voice. This song reminds me of my friends & I putting our hand to one ear whenever we sang BeeGees songs as kids in the 1960s/70s.
Chad, thank you for giving me a pick for this weekend's marathon and thank you for your wonderful reaction to one of my all time favorites! I thought you would enjoy this song and I truly believe that you did. What an amazing weekend it's been already and I'm so looking forward to what you have in store for us next. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Pure brilliance, what we get here! Their live-concerts as well as most of their albums always took so much profit out of leadvocals by Barry and Robin or sometimes Maurice, but he's been the one, bringing in their trademark, three part harmony at his best. Fourtimes, I've been visiting Bee Gees concerts, once only Robin on his Magnet-tour. So I'll tellya, the true magic was the three of them!
Thanks so much for doing one of my favourite songs. I think that Robin's voice and emotion in his performances was at its peak in this era. I'm still puzzled as to how he went from this extremely emotional style to wearing dark glasses and standing still grasping the microphone stand later in life. His voice was always amazing though, whatever the era.
@@juanita6479 - I think that was part of it. The HAIR was a vital part of his persona regardless of the style, length or colour. The fact that he often changed the style indicated that was part of his self image. The guy, to me at least, gave an aura of insecurity (certainly not deserved) and when those beautiful locks disappeared it must have been devastating to him. This is a great song by Robin. Really enjoyed the reaction. I never made the link to the gospel, I guess here in the Netherlands they sing in a different way.
I don't necessarily think it's a gospel type of sound. I just think it's solemn and could be thought of as spiritual. Mr. Natural has some more of what I would call a gospel sound - "Give a Hand Take a Hand" is one. Oh that's a good one.
I swear. Robin is one of the few artists that can make me cry. My friends are not surprised! Because I’m a crier, lol but c’mon! Robin is amazing. Period. Thank you. Oh! And a suggestion. Have you heard Alone? Off of their Still Waters album.
Hello, Dorothy, and thanks for your feedback! Great news! I've covered the song "Alone", and if you're interested in watching my reaction, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/fXO8kP0vI88/v-deo.html
I love this performance. So many of the songs done at this concert were awesome, Chad you should watch the whole thing just because it is good 👍 😀 😊 Some of the songs you've already reacted to were done really good at this concert.
Robin's sweet voice is remarkable, his voice is so smooth. I love the Bee Gees they are the best. Chad your reaction is very sweet!! If you want to hear a great rock and roll by the Bee Gees it's absolutely great. The song is...To Be or Not to Be please consider reacting I think you will love it as well as others.
About the religious "feel" of the song -- many of the Bee Gees songs made reference to God, as does the final line of this one, "The sun will shine if just for you and the Lord" (although another artist made a cover changing and diminishing the close). As others have said, the Hither Green train accident in which Robin heroically helped the injured and dying added spiritual depth to his singing. And of course he lived in a 12th-century former monastery, within sight of the churchyard where he is buried.
Yes, Chad, I can certainly see why you got the Gospel vibe from this. The guys went to a parochial school for a while early on, so you may well be on to something. I know this song always touches me when I hear it and I couldn't venture to even guess how many times that's been. At least hopefully now you have a different feeling about wishing the group had utilized Robin's voice more especially now that you've gotten into a few more of the earlier songs - and there's a lot more yet to go. 😊 Great reaction. ❤
I once saw a piece where Barry made a trip back to their old school. He remembered how they were kicked out of the choir, because they would create their own harmonies.
I believe it was Mo. Barry went into the assembly room and started singing "All Things Bright and Beautiful" like he was 9 years old again. The teacher with him said they still sing the song, but not as beautifully as Barry.

In my opinion, the best male vocalist ever!!!! Such heart and soul, just amazing.
We should never ever compare !! but ur right !! CHEERS!!
I am 63 years old and I have been in love with the Bee Gees since I was 11. No one can harmonize like those brothers.
Totally understand. I am 67 and fell in love with them when I was 13 when they were on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Me too
I understand how you feel. I'm 63 and I fell in love with that beautiful songbird in 1969. I was 9. Thanks to my mom buying a beegees album
Robin and his emotions sure come out here. Beautiful Chad❤
That iconic voice! There’ll never be another.
That 1974 concert was awesome. Robin has the voice of an angel. Effortless and rare. Happy we had him as long as we did
This song is beautifully sad and superbly done by Robin with a direct line from his heart to ours. Tears flow everytime...
Robin’s voice is hauntingly beautiful 🎶 there will never be another Robin 🎶🤩
My favorite song! With beautiful Robin singing lead. Thanks so much Chad.
His voice is so lovely and unique. So emotional. He draws me in and just melts my heart. Fabulous!!!!!
One of my favourite concerts Melbourne 1974.... Simply stunning vocal by Robin ❤️❤️❤️
The way Robin’s voice rose above the crashing percussion, and guitars,is so uplifting. And the strength of his vibrato is wonderful to hear.
I have to add this I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody sing a song with as much emotion and depth and feeling as he did. Oh my goodness!!
And just like that… you are hooked! And love them forever ❤❤❤
Robin’s voice was loud, trembling and intense. Full of vulnerability and emotion. It was truly a gift.

When Barry released his album of duets, he did an AMA Reddit live thread. I asked him which song best showcased Robin's voice, and he said this one.
Robin at his best
He was always at his best no matter the style but his ballads....WOW! Untouchable.
Robin Gibb - a distinctive, exquisite and truly unique voice that went forever quiet way too soon...💜
Fan-friggin-tastic!! geez, i'm so glad you finally did this one! I just feel like it's Robin's best Solo, lead vocal!

Robin was very Spiritual IMO
My god, that song had me holding my breath. Its so deep i was afraid i would miss the lyrics from loud breathing.🎶🎶🎶🎶😍😍😍 great pick chad💞💞

Para mi la voz sexy, Hot, dulce, profunda, tenía todo Robin Gibb para cantar lo que quisiera
Sir Robín Gibb Patrimonio de la Humanidad
I think you're very astute. I used to sing in my church choir, and yes, this is very akin to the kinds of hymns and music we would sing for services.
On that concert there's a Song you should react. "Road to Alaska"
I love this song. Always have.

@@jamihede4440 - I thought it was Mo that said that. LOL
I believe it was Mo. Barry went into the assembly room and started singing "All Things Bright and Beautiful" like he was 9 years old again. The teacher with him said they still sing the song, but not as beautifully as Barry.
@@janicetrimmell6897 No. This was with Barry alone. It was after his brothers had gone.
@@jamihede4440 Okay, maybe so. I'm sure they all talked about it at different times.
