What I love about London: Dodging crackheads at nearly every intersection. It keeps my driving reaction times sharp. Oh, and all of the sirens...It adds an element of reality to the action movies that I enjoy.

@@Amoon191 I've lived all over this city, if you want some real advice about London it's this: It's all cons, seriously... it's got stigmata over areas of town EOA/West side, it's bull, London is a overpriced former industry city with no industry left, unless that's Amazon, Its over saturated with commerical districts that make very little sense as this city is designed around cars not people and all those sit empty or owned by like 3 mega slumlords that together own most of London, city management (city Council) is a joke always has been, so many unfinished projects over the years and lots of money spent on stupid things that doesn't help our city and so much corruption . London has one of the best hospitals in the world but it has no proper mental care facilities as well, we have a massive homelessness issue to. The obvious is how wack/high the prices are, not just for homes and rental but cost of living is high to, students from Western and Fanshawe are a pain all the time 24/7 365 only if you not one, this city caters to UWO. Oh yea and we are the former serial killer capital of the world to top it off (seriously look it up) My advice/opinion move to another city, this place is lonely, selfish and expensive. Basically that's the cons, I don t wanna bash this Justin fellow's work but yea it's not really truthful. Long term this city sucks.
I love everything about London . The friendships I’ve built, it’s close to Windsor, Detroit and then Kitchener, Guelph and Toronto isn’t that far. It is also growing and expanding a lot . It’s a beautiful place . Sure there are things maybe that aren’t great but it’s special
Great job JASTIN, you are doing great job, your explaining skills are great, please make a video on house prices in London. Also make a video on nice cities near London Ontario.
@@InderjeetSingh-v6j I don’t have any plans to make a video about the specific neighbourhoods in London at this time, but I’ll consider it for the future. Thank you.
I am moving to London in October to pursue my PhD. Looking forward to experience the local cuisine, meet people and explore the cultural ethos of the city.
I moved to London in the late 1970's, it was clean ,beautiful, low traffic, 200,000 population , i moved away in 2010 as it was growing in people but not in infrastructure, now its approaching 500,000 i go back to visit friends a couple times a year and am shocked at what it has become,
I learned a lot of new info about London. So much to do and see. A good balance is an important feature and affordability as well.People are excited about London! DM Piazzon
I came to London from the Greater Toronto Area for schooling and I can see why many love the city. I agree with what's being said here. People love to throw opinions around but I would encourage everyone to visit the city yourself before making your own opinion. Maybe the city isn't for you, but maybe it is! Awesome video Justin, the editing and cinematography was amazing. I'll be sure to contact you should I have any real-estate needs.
Thanks for your comments. I grew up in the GTA and found that London can offer you many things the bigger cities can offer with an overall better quality of life, I do not miss sitting in traffic three hours per day. Happy to help answer any real estate questions you may have when the time is right...
Hi Elaine, I used to live in Ottawa and have experienced winters in Montreal as well. I would say that on occasion there is more snow but it's not as cold and not as much of a wind chill factor. Hope that helps and if there is anything else you need for your move to London please feel free to reach out. I'm here to help.
What I love about my hometown is the roads. Omg we have the worst roads you actually feel like you are driving on bricks or something. Traffic is the worst, nothing but drive and stop drive and stop. Our downtown is scary to walk around at night.
Good job Justin, moved from To in Dec 2014 to London due to house affordability, my best decision ever made some nice $$$ :) Now what I love about London ... nothing :) joking... I love the parks, Grand Bend so close, Port Stanly, so much nature around london, it's beautiful and a lot less traffic compared to crazy Toronto/GTA
London is a big little city that offers what people would look for regarding entertainment, sporting events, parks, beaches, good education and healthcare with affordable housing compared to GTA. Glad you made the move, we thank you... London Ontario is a good place to be... Tell your friends ;)
The largest student population is in central London, so the downtown area. You will find many students prefer to live on a bus route or at least not far off of Oxford Street. This makes getting to Fanshawe or Western much easier.
The city is growing quickly and they are doing their best to improve transportation. Coming from a bigger city someone may not feel that traffic or transportation is a huge concern here. Everything is based on individual perception. Thanks for your comment!
Interesting comments.... i grew up in London and lived there for the first 25 years of my life before moving to the GTA. I always thought London was a good city but i notice Toronto ppl talking trash about london a fair bit. It seems to have a negative reputation outside of SWO.
Thanks for sharing. It's all a matter of perspective, for some people it's an improvement from where they are coming from others are looking for something a little more metropolitan. GTA Buyers have mostly driven values upwards as people seek more balance and/or affordable housing.
Plan in advance whether you will own or rent. Either way consider having short term accommodation arranged prior to your arrival in the country. There may be lenders looking to help newcomers and creative ways to get into the market. When the time is right chat with a local realtor about your plans. They will direct you accordingly. Feel free to reach out when the time is right if I can help…
I wouldn’t do it. I moved back to this area from Georgia. I’m outta here after the pandemic. Way way too expensive. It’s insane and the traffic is ridiculous. London has no beltway around it and no major highway cutting right through it. The traffic is mayhem
I escaped London Ontario 4 years ago. The downtown is dangerous. Full of drug addicts and violence. The traffic jams are non stop. The bus system is a disaster. They are still convinced that people only work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Many places don't even have bus service or very inadequate. The only thing I miss is the Good Will book store. I still have family there. Heard it is getting worse.
Compared to other major cities London is still affordable. Good quality of life for the cost of living here. Inflation is hurting a lot of people right now but it won't last forever, more new housing coming down the pipeline. There will be options that can work...
Hi Julie, Like any city London has it's challenges in certain areas. I have been living in London for over ten years and have never experienced anything more serious than my vehicle being broken into. This kind of thing can happen anywhere and where you choose to live will have an impact on your experiences here. If you are considering a move here I'd be happy to show you where to find the better places to live in the city. As far as jobs are concerned. This city is great for medicine and education and Amazon has just launched major operations in the area. There are also more tech job opportunities then ever before so it depends on your skill set as to how you would find employment opportunities here comparing to other cities. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your comment! Although there are much worse drivers in other cities I've lived I will say that when I first moved to London I noticed that you do have to be a good driver, and patient at times. Great news is you can get from one end of the city to another at almost any time of day in under 30 minutes.
I lived there for 4 years...what a shthole of a city...they don't put garbage cans anywhere so the people just throw their garbage all over the street. Streets are too close to the sidewalks and dangerous. Get splashed in the rain or snow by the cars. Not to mention the drug problems and mental illness of many of the residents. I ran out out of that city.
What neighborhood did you live in. I'm sure viewers would love to hear more about exactly where you lived in London. Your comments may help someone avoid the same experience. Thanks for sharing!
If you live here and want to move I can help. The city definitely isn't for everyone. Thanks for your funny comment. I actually laughed out loud with that one John McKillop.
Perhaps that could a be a reason for some.. I can tell you that a lot of people have moved here from the GTA to be able to buy more house for the money. Homes here are significantly less expensive than Toronto. Approximately 1 out of 3 buyers are coming from out of area. Many from the GTA including Toronto so they have chosen to leave for their own reasons that may not have anything to do with affordability.
