- Adoniram and Ann Judson were American missionaries who sacrificed enormously to bring the gospel to the people of Burma. As the first missionaries sent abroad from the United States, Adoniram and Ann served in Burma (present day Myanmar) for decades. Suffering resistance, persecution, imprisonment, personal loss, and ill health, Adoniram and Ann’s faithfulness led to the establishment of a church that continues to flourish in the 21st century. Today Myanmar is home to the third largest population of Baptist Christians worldwide. The Judsons’ Burmese translation of the Bible continues to be used in Myanmar to this day. Experience the struggles and triumphs of these remarkable missionaries in this illuminating documentary.

I was born in Burma to Baptist missionaries in the 50’s and learned about the Judsons at an early age.
That is so neat, Beth! How many years did you live there? What were your parents' roles?
Were their names Conrad?
Charles & Ruth Conrad were Missionaries in Burma also!
@@reb541 I was 10 when we came back to US. My dad taught Bible school and taught at the seminary in Rangoon. My mother worked with the women and children teaching sewing, crafts, Bible stories. My sisters and I had a wonderful childhood there and certainly an easier life than the Judsons did.
@@angelareed6539 No, Ray and June Beaver. We knew the Conrad’s tho! All missionaries had to leave Burma, the last left in 1967.

Thank you very much for Bro. Judson biography. He is my hero. I am a missionary and pastor from Burma. Nowadays there are some Bible versions in Burmese but Judson' version is the best and I am using it and love it.

What sacrifices...What devotion...what humility....what courage....it was God ordained. Will meet them in heaven...All glory to our one and only, the true Almighty God...
Every parent should tell their children, "Some day, you will be a great man or woman"! Think of what that child could do in the future.
He is respected greatly today by the Karen Baptist refugees living in my Town. It is my privilege to know them and hear their account of Judson and his impact on the Karen and other tribal groups. They hail him as "the white brother who brought them God's lost book" and fulfilled an ancient prophesy that had been handed down for generations.

I'm one of those people that the Judson visited back then we still exist now but not much I'm also a Karen fully cause both my parent are and living in this time and learning about the work that has been done by the Judson its nice I also want people to hear more about God's works to but it sad that people rejecting him now a day but I'm happy to know of this.

It is very sad that even some of our own families reject Jesus Christ but keep praying because sometimes one or two change their mind.

As I am a Karen from Burma I learned the story of Missionaries Adoniram and Ann Judson, George and Sarah Boardman and Francis Mason, I respect, salute and appreciate their priceless and precious decisions to bring the gospel of our Almighty God to Burma. But when I got the book “ Adoniram Judson Bound for Burma “ and read through the whole book about their mission in Our demonic country made me cried and wanted to meet them in Heaven, and I am wondering “ whether can I see them or not because I am so low in telling others about our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ “ during writing this comment I am crying. God’s blessings to all Americans and USA for the mission of our deliverance . I pray for the peace of USA always!
Blessed were the feet of this daring missionary couple who brought the life giving message of the Bible to the shores of the golden land of Burma to enrich the Burmese Cultures so much. I m so inspired to learn of their commitment and incredible measures of sacrifices in their missionary life 💐💐💐The Gospel message of Brotherly love can only and surely transform Myanmar from a conflict ridden nation into a nation of great brotherhood of all Myanmarese people. No one excluded or exterminated

Oh yes God the father and his son , Jesus is great in everything they are strong in every way when they combine together they are even stronger and will give you the strength to be stronger in their faith. Always trust and believe in both of them because they are always close to you when you do not think so. Amen!

Adoniram Judson is one of my admire among the missionary his life his commitment his burden and vision for the unreached people's so encouraging for me as I am also only 27 year now I sacrifice my life to be pioneer among the unreached area presently joined india evanglical mission

There was a time I wanted to become a missionary to Myanmar but my vision change. But I thank the life of Judson who did not step off. His life was blessing for hundreds and thousands of Burmise people.. Praise God for Judson's life.

The Judsons were some of my heroes from my childhood. Now I am a missionary in the philippines. I just love their story. Adoniram's letter to Anne's parents was astoundingly true. It's a shame more parents aren't willing to let their children make this decision.

I can't get 57:33 out of my head. That's quite something. Helps me understand how deep grief can be, especially for my friends in this season. His recovery helps me give my friends the room to grieve for long, and pray they will find strength

Ask Him to keep your eyes and ears open to your chance to be used. Be still and know that He is God. He hears the kind of prayer of Isaiah 6:5: "Here am I Lord".

I especially appreciate how Anne's training in languages enabled her to both translate the Bible, and believe in confidence in the education of girls. This is the fruit of the Protestant emphasis on education, even for women. Teaching those girls, who would never even have the right to vote, changed the world.
Women are truly the unsung heroes of missions.
