Thanks for the helpful advice you shared along your journey.
Regarding Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), I've found it more energy efficient to deactivate it. It seems to maintain speed by frequently applying the rear brakes, and possibly as a safety precaution to keep the brake pads close to the discs for quicker response times in the event of an emergency. Therefore in your defence your trip would have been less efficient than Mrs P.

I charged at Broxden to the other day, while having up to Elgin. I've got a 4+, like yourselves, but used a Tesla Supercharger at 41p/kwh. Handy stop and McDonald's is just round the corner too. 😊
Well done on the trip efficiency and thanks for another great video.

Thanks Ron for your comments, yes ive used those Tesla SC before , veey easy , and if at a 'off peak' time cheaper than CPS.
With my electroverse card , it was about the same with the 5% discount when i charged up.
The overnight 7kW fast chargers are ideal whilst we sleep at the travel lodge.

I saw this heading and wondered where the hell Orkney is. Of course, all was revealed when I started watching. (I live in Perth, Western Australia).

2 and half hours , condensed into 2 minutes ! Nice people to work with , they were genuinely 'blown away' with what Orkney is doing !

@@JonathanPorterfield Yes, it was impressive all the things that Orkney is doing. On another subject, good to hear that Sunamp have sorted out the problem with your system. I look forward to your video on the subject.

Woman drivers! Don’t tell them they are better 😂. Great content. I have just stopped using the flappy paddles for the last few weeks , got the regen in Auto and that works well. The main reason for stopping was to get out of the habit as we just driven to Switzerland in our ICE car! I did not have confidence to use my e-Niro but so impressed with with every area we stopped for a break had high speed chargers free and that includes the UK, France and Switzerland. So next time I will probably drive it in the EV. Also in France and Switzerland all the motorway parking areas have signs to let you know if there is charging or not and in Switzerland it even tells you how many there is.

Hi chris , thanks for watching and your comments 😀 we are planning a EV road trip to southern spain for December this year to spend 10/12 weeks away from the worst of Orkneys winter !
Using the electroverse RFID card it looks like most chargers in europe will take the card too !

All Perth and Kinross fasts at 22kw are weirdly maxed at 4 hrs since they started charging for electricity. In Kinross they used to be the older 7kw units but now are all changed to 22kw units.

Good for you, Mrs P. I don't use adaptive or auto braking either, but I do mix and match using the (non 'flappy') paddles and brakes.

Doesn’t it show that the council charging “experts” haven’t a clue to what they are doing.

JP. Does your eNiro 4+ charge port door lock? I bought my 4+ in June and noticed my charge port door can be opened even when locked. It's possible that the actuator has failed in the past before I bought it luckily in the open position. The cable still locks so actually having it being able to open without opening the car is convenient. Let me know, thanks CP.

You do realise that the journey is not the same in both directions? When I drive to my sister's house it uses 33% more range than the distance. But on the way back it uses 33% less range than the distance. The drive averages uphill going there and downhill coming back. I'm betting the same is true with your journey. Like for like you will drain more battery travelling south on this route than you will travelling north. Also (as others have said) adaptive cruise control uses more range.
It's all irrelevant anyway because the big picture is that your Kia e-Niro can cover 240+ miles with 50+ to spare. That equates to travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats requiring only two top ups on route.

Have to say JP that my lovely driver just puts the car into D and drives. Doesn't bother with B, doesn't use ACC etc. if you recall our ID.3 was doing 4.4 miles/kWh which you thought was pretty decent for an ID.3.
The first owner of our ID.3 averaged just 3.3 miles/kWh during their ownership but we have 4.1 miles/kWh during our use to date.
All these toys and gimmicks, eh? 😉
