No pressure to progress much in these vids, a huge part of the game is team building and trying different teams, items etc , it’s cool just seeing what you will come up with personally
Calvin (the first trainer) is quite the roadblock with how early you face it and how good he is. The other trainers of the route should feel easy compared to him.
Well i was crazy enough to do like 50+ mono nuzlockes and and very crazy enough to even do a Elite Redux IronMon and calvin whooped my ass in like half of my entire playthrough combined
Hey cal just wanted to say instead of changing the difficulty i would change the level caps Ive done like 30+ monoruns of elite but i always use easy level caps because you just have a lot more options to choose from
heya! dev here again. i'd like to note some more things after my comment on the first video. movepools have been redone. you can change hidden power type by using gems in your bag. I'd recommend catching all mons on a route with start because sometimes you will need to mix up your team. earlygame i'd recommend focus sashes pretty commonly. the shedinja uses final gambit it was my dumb idea. i could help you more with the game if you need any help in the discord. this game does have a big learning curve but when you learn that curve it becomes super fun
Youngster Calvin is pretty much designed to be a big wall to start with. Ace difficulty is honestly plenty difficult but im also not very good at difficulty hacks. You can also just up the difficulty again later with the dev menu from what i know. Also just wanted to say that im happy you do regular video playthroughs again since im not the biggest stream watcher.
You can up the difficulty mid playthrough in 2.5, it just puts a mark on your hall of fame at the end to signify you did so for the sake of not getting "false" bragging rights.
This game looks so fun I’m happy to watch another lp from you. I still need to binge your PokeRogue videos since I avoided PokeRogue videos to avoid spoilers when I was deep in it
YOOO!!! Super excited for this! I had trouble getting into PokeRogue so I'm super happy to see a traditional RomHack series; and I get the vibe this is going to be a good one!
Elite Redux is probably the peak of "pokemon minus the grinding" and i fear the rom that will inevitably prove me wrong somehow, good luck with it callum, it was too overwhelming for me so it'll be fun to see someone else play through it, personally i think it'd be best to lower the difficulty if it becomes so difficult it's not fun anymore, but just remember... *beware the cocoon that killed god*
i had fun with this game on ace difficulty, i watched some elite mode playthroughs and for me it wasnt very fun. ace mode just allows you to use more quirky pokemon and imo is better for a "casual" playthrough
dont worry about losing to calvin, hes supposed to be a difficult fight that tells you "hey, this is what your getting into. If you cant beat this, give up now." Hes the hardest fight for a little while, so as long as you keep learning more and more strategies you probably wont need to lower the difficulty. If you stop having fun you can lower the difficulty for sure, I'm just letting you know not all fights are gonna be like that.
I love that youre playing this rom cause its awesome. Just have an open mindset with the difficulty cause it heavily encourages strategy, but in a different way from kaizo and run and bun. You do need a strategy to win battles but youre not required a specific one or specific pokemon. I beat roxanne and her sand team with a counter hail team which demolished her. Dont be shy to go around the routes getting a bunch of pokemon and trying new stuff out
Hey! Really glad to see some series content like this coming back, really excited for the playthrough! Honestly, play it how it's fun for you! If you don't enjoy Elite difficulty, then turn it turn. It's a more fun watch when you're having fun recording it imo.
I think if you’re doing the harder difficulty you’ll need to have fairly competitive teams, which means using whatever is fun is less viable. I say do what you enjoy the most, I’ll watch either way. I hunger for the HoodlumCallum rom hack series
Excitedly told my boyfriend about getting to watch this on my car ride back home tn im so glad We've got long form play through content with you again!!
Something that worked for me in this game is to have actual team synergies. Weather / terrain teams, trick room teams or even just well thought out balance teams with very strong role players go a really long way
love to see you playing rom hacks again, been watching the channel since the unbound series and it really got me through a difficult time in my life. defiantly gonna get the hat btw I love it!!!
I usually don't comment on videos much, but eh, to heck with it, I'll do it here, it does seem like an interesting series that I can't wait to watch more of! Also something something Mismagius nice :)
I would love to have a name in this series, this is my favorite romhack, especially after they fixed some stuff I didn't like with the newest version. So happy to see you play it! I should note, I think Ace mode with the highest level caps is ideal, personally. It's what I play on and it's a good difficulty for me. I like being able to have all my innates.

Really does feel good seeing you back in the rom hack grind
I was thinking it would be cool for Cal to use both Corviknight and Tinkaton but then realized that Tinkaton's hammer could be made out of Corviknight.
I absolutely LOVE this rom hack! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! And if you ever use a Ninjask, please name it Tadeu, is my favorite mon of all time AND its really good in this game! Focus Sash, protect, swords dance, acrobatics and X scissors!
I've played through this game a lot on the hardest difficulty, it defiantly does get easier as u unlock the inates so I'd recommend keeping the difficulty.
You gotta slow your roll and take your time in battles to read. This is a game where everything matters each turn. Read abilities, moves, items, damage calcs, etc. If you get caught off guard from something, it could be the mistake that costs you a win.
I'm currently lazily playing through 2.5 and I'm catching everything and testing out tons of shit. I've been playing on elite and more caps as well. Shits fun and frustrating I'm a big fan of the trainer redesigns. Redux Alakazam kind of carrying me ngl
Yes! Day 2 of Redux, and i can't wait for the later episodes. Also, how do you change the moves to go physical, special, or status since mine is on the level up, egg, tm/hm, and tutor?
I'm playing on Elite and turning off EVs has helped remedy the difficulty a bit, you get to live a bit longer cause trainers' Pokemon usually have +252 in some attack stat. Also it's worth noting I just beat Roxanne in my run, and Calvin was still the hardest trainer of everyone I fought, so I think this fight in particular is just really really tough.
I swear. Leave it to Callum to make an 'oopsie' turn into an AMAZING ad read! Not gonna lie I usually skip those. But this one was so seamless, smooth and Cal that I only realized it AFTER the thing xD
Small hint: you can grab Pokemon from the Dexnav screen without going into battle! Just saves a bit of time, unless you want a specific Poke Ball for it to be caught in you never need to go into a wild battle in this game :) (gotta be worth a Pokemon nickname, right?)
I will say, the trainers on that first route are Gross when you're not playing with randomizers. It's difficult when you have to use just what you get from the encounters in the surrounding routes. I promise the rest of the game isn't this Sweaty, except maybe the gyms if you refuse to fight the trainers, but I'll leave that for you to find out for yourself. After the first gym, you get access to a lot of good mons.
After watching this video i just spent like 3 hours on the dex just looking at the mons, i haven’t played a romhack in a while. I think this my be my new hyper-fixation...
Don't worry Calvin is a nuetorious road block but the trainers after him don't put much of a challenge. Also give knaiver pollinate caus it learns quick attack and return
Not a deal breaker, but one of my biggest issue with these types of hacks it hey just remove any incentive to actually 'build' up a Pokemon when you get access to almost everything from the get-go.
Don't stress too much about all the options you have or the game gets giga overwhelming. Just go with gut instict of what you think it works, basically all mons are really strong. As long as you have either a strategy going on or good type distribiuton on the team it should be fine
This game is so great i started yesterday and i'm already on flannery and i can't stop playing. On a side note, is this a mega update on another version or something? Because there are things like battling Archie in the museum, some added dialogue or npcs that i've just seen in a room hack a loooooooong time ago, but it wasn't nothing like this crazy thing they've done
@HoodlumCallum also just in case you didnt know: bleeding does damage at the end of the turn and prevents all healing effects from happening as long as bleeding is active
I’ve been playing this game on randomizer mode and even with Calvin having an unchanged team. I still wiped to him several times lol. Should be a lil easier from here tho.
Thank you for watching chat
You are amazing keep it up!
No pressure to progress much in these vids, a huge part of the game is team building and trying different teams, items etc , it’s cool just seeing what you will come up with personally
Calvin (the first trainer) is quite the roadblock with how early you face it and how good he is. The other trainers of the route should feel easy compared to him.
yeah its kinda crazy if you ever crazy enough to try to nuzlocke this game calvin will dunk on you
Well i was crazy enough to do like 50+ mono nuzlockes and and very crazy enough to even do a Elite Redux IronMon and calvin whooped my ass in like half of my entire playthrough combined
he did in fact, signed up for that
damn cal really, you and maybe zwiggo are the two guys that can make me sit down to watch pokemon stuff really
The accidental face cam to merch plug is wild. So excited to see you play more elite redux, might have to play along as well!
Hey cal just wanted to say instead of changing the difficulty i would change the level caps
Ive done like 30+ monoruns of elite but i always use easy level caps because you just have a lot more options to choose from
heya! dev here again. i'd like to note some more things after my comment on the first video. movepools have been redone. you can change hidden power type by using gems in your bag. Nickname jumpscare lmao. Did not expect that.
Youngster Calvin is pretty much designed to be a big wall to start with. Ace difficulty is honestly plenty difficult but im also not very good at difficulty hacks. The dev menu is only exclusive to debug mode
You can up the difficulty mid playthrough in 2.5, it just puts a mark on your hall of fame at the end to signify you did so for the sake of not getting "false" bragging rights.

So glad you're back playing this game. I found this game through your streams keep up the good work
Elite Redux is probably the peak of "pokemon minus the grinding" and i fear the rom that will inevitably prove me wrong somehow, good luck with it callum, it was too overwhelming for me so it'll be fun to see someone else play through it, personally i think it'd be best to lower the difficulty if it becomes so difficult it's not fun anymore, but just remember...

Lovin' the series so far, keep up the great work cal!

Really happy to see you running this series back! I've been curious about it but every time I read up on it, I get kinda overwhelmed 😅 Best of luck 🙌
Thank you so much!!!!! This is the best rom hack ever!!! And there’s now finally a play through of the game to watch!❤
Dont be shy to go around the routes getting a bunch of pokemon and trying new stuff out
I feel like we should give it 1 more episode before we can properly answer if the difficulty should be dropped, but I'm leaning towards drop it down
Hey! Really glad to see some series content like this coming back, really excited for the playthrough! Honestly, play it how it's fun for you! If you don't enjoy Elite difficulty, then turn it turn. It's a more fun watch when you're having fun recording it imo.
Goth Pansear is one of the funniest alt forms I've seen, I love it
I think if you’re doing the harder difficulty you’ll need to have fairly competitive teams, which means using whatever is fun is less viable. I say do what you enjoy the most, I’ll watch either way. I hunger for the HoodlumCallum rom hack series

Excited to see series come back although I was enjoying Pokerouge too. Keep up the great work Cal!

Should've kept Sharpen on Knaiver. (Check the move info).
Excited for this series.
Callum, you should try out the Poochyena line its so good (when used right). I used it and it carried me in most battles
Excited to see how far you go
I was thinking it would be cool for Cal to use both Corviknight and Tinkaton but then realized that Tinkaton's hammer could be made out of Corviknight.
forbidden friendship
love the rom hack serieses, glad to see they´re back!
Heck yeaa, daily uploads!
Lets go 🎉
I absolutely LOVE this rom hack! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! And if you ever use a Ninjask, please name it Tadeu, is my favorite mon of all time AND its really good in this game! Focus Sash, protect, swords dance, acrobatics and X scissors!

I love starting my days with breakfast and watching your vids😂
I really hope this series gets the attention Pokerogue received
you'll see calvin again...
love watching this playthrough while finishing up my finals :')
I like the harder difficulty but, play what u want im happy if i see u play a new rom:)
We back at it again with another video
I'm currently lazily playing through 2.5 and I'm catching everything and testing out tons of shit. I've been playing on elite and more caps as well. Shits fun and frustrating I'm a big fan of the trainer redesigns. Redux Alakazam kind of carrying me ngl
Yes! Day 2 of Redux, and i can't wait for the later episodes.
Also, how do you change the moves to go physical, special, or status since mine is on the level up, egg, tm/hm, and tutor?
Update to v2.5 beta
@darkyy92 Ah. OK. Thank you.
I'm unsure if you forgot or changed your mind but I thought getting the toxic orb for goomey was to put bravado on it?
Looking forward to this series!
I'm playing on Elite and turning off EVs has helped remedy the difficulty a bit, you get to live a bit longer cause trainers' Pokemon usually have +252 in some attack stat.

Not gonna lie, thanks to YOU a lot hacks gets my attention. I definitely have check this soon
Ya better be
I’ll gladly take the knaiver❤❤❤
A classic hoodcal let’s play is exactly what I needed rn tbh
Omg I need to play this it’s wild
Just saves a bit of time, unless you want a specific Poke Ball for it to be caught in you never need to go into a wild battle in this game :) (gotta be worth a Pokemon nickname, right?)
you GOTTA use the new Mega Fidough. No bias I promise 😁
Dang this game looks hard as heck!
Suffering on the first battle, my usual ER experience... so... it's even harder now...
Pokemon recommendation- Kilowattrel
I'll let you know
The first trainer is probably the hardest in the entire game for a while
It will be much more manageable from now on
Yooooo am honored to be taxi bird
This game is tough! Good Luck!
After the first gym, you get access to a lot of good mons.
just an FYI - the game lets you change Hidden Power/Secret Power types by using one of the type boosting Gems on a Pokemon
After watching this video i just spent like 3 hours on the dex just looking at the mons, i haven’t played a romhack in a while. I think this my be my new hyper-fixation...
I would love either Gallade or Dodrio, Dodrio is so damn good
I may have to play this, looks fun af. HOOOOOOOOOONK
The Seel on Ace mode is a menace. I don't want to know how it in Elite.
Edit: Yup. Still a huge problem.
This game looks insane, I dig it.
i haven't been able to watch the other episodes, but i'm really hoping callum noticed that corvisquire was changed to be a special attacker
I liked the video before it even started.
I really can't wait to see what that Bleed status effect does
this game looks absolutely crazy, definitely gonna try this game out myself
Don't worry Calvin is a nuetorious road block but the trainers after him don't put much of a challenge.
Also give knaiver pollinate caus it learns quick attack and return
Not a deal breaker, but one of my biggest issue with these types of hacks it hey just remove any incentive to actually 'build' up a Pokemon when you get access to almost everything from the get-go.
there is a difference between a difficulty mode being hard and not fun, do whatever you feel would make you keep playing bc we need a cal series rn
Don't stress too much about all the options you have or the game gets giga overwhelming. Just go with gut instict of what you think it works, basically all mons are really strong. As long as you have either a strategy going on or good type distribiuton on the team it should be fine
Saw the last vid and the game looked too good to miss so playing on IOS. Missed watching new playthroughs
That's crazy omg just the first trainer I wouldn't change the difficulty it would be good learning experience
I remember trying this game last year and being so overwhelmed, just out of curiosity, do you plan to play Peach/Lime when they release?
I love that Seel finally gets to shine! 😁😁😁
Did a mono bug run and kricketune and charjabug with piroty shock wave is cracked.
Seel is crazy strong, but theres ways of dealing with it on your team. It just takes a bit to figure it out cuz new stuff
💯 learning curve
@HoodlumCallum also just in case you didnt know: bleeding does damage at the end of the turn and prevents all healing effects from happening as long as bleeding is active
I believe in you Cal! 🖤
Forgot to comment on last video. Can’t wait to see what they do to sneasel.
I’ve been playing this game on randomizer mode and even with Calvin having an unchanged team. I still wiped to him several times lol. Should be a lil easier from here tho.
Calvin will remember that.
12:15 You are talking about Power Herb. Imo, it wouldnt be that bad to run it on that mon.
If you decide to use the Sewaddle line, that is my B O Y!!!
this game makes me realize that pokemon rom hacks would benefit A LOT from mouse controls
More redux lets gooo
You're welcome Callum!
Series lets go
If you ever pick up a stunkey can you call it fartillery please.
Need more
Lower the difficulty one stage, just to keep the progress at a more steady pace
