I’m already in college and I am thinking of changing my major. I want to work in advertising, so I thought majoring in marketing makes the most sense. After doing some research however, I learned that a marketing degree is not all that helpful in this day and age. Schools are not thoroughly teaching digital marketing which seems to be the most important aspect of this field. My question is, is there any other degree I can pursue that can get my foot in the door of the marketing/advertising world, while being useful and worth obtaining?

I have a very weird question for you, I am actively looking doing my MBA at UIUC and was considering digital marketing as one of the focus specialization. The caviet here is that I am already a Product Manager, more specifically, an Informatics Product Manager. Do you still see value in pursuing an MBA with marketing as a focus?
