So many videos out there trying to explain the concept of multicast routing by simplifying it to the point it leaves so many unanswered questions. What they fail to understand is that sometimes as a learner you need to go deep to truly understand what is happening. Great video Kevin, you have helped a lot!

Great video explaining multicast. IGMPs are used for joinibg multiicast group. Then, the multicast messages to group members are sent in reverse-path-forwarding to avoid duplicate packets. And PIM-DM and PIM-SM are kinda like multicast ROUTING protocols that utilize pruning and grafting to optimize routes.

The basics made sense. Especially understanding auto-rp. Now I know why, it is most beneficial to run Sparse-dense than either sparse or dense modes. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
