Thank you so much for this video!! I’ve been studying for my DevNet Associate certification, and have had the biggest challenge wrapping my head around this topic. Your video really helped meget a better understanding… And simplified what NETCONF & YANG really are. Thank you so much!

Excellent content again. The YANG before and after XML data structures at around 7 to 8mins is very informative and much easier to digest

Thanks for the tuto! I work on O-RAN radio which use netconf, thanks for the pointer to Cisco Devnet and Github repo, as a developer nothing better than to look at sample codes 8-)

Every time I think that I might need to reference other sources before committing to Mr Wallace and his easy going explanation videos, I am proven oh so wrong.

I have a couple years automation experience from my previous role at Facebook but it’s nice to build upon my own foundation. I am way more savy on the Junos platform these days but it all started with Cisco.

Lol on the comment "XML is very readable" @ 16:10. Raw xml is not readable and I've noticed a lot of network devices don't output as nicely as the Cisco in this example. I'd also state that it looks like vendors are not universally following IETF standards and are developing individual flavors of Netconf to suit their needs. All in all its a good idea to try and get inter-platform functionality, but then again so was SNMP.

I followed the example, but it always return an empty rpc. Either there is a bug in that py script, or there's something wrong with that sandbox dvc.

I still dont understand the need for restconf or netconf! I manage 81 L2/L3 switches daily and can breeze thru any and multiple configs dynamically via the cli. Someone make this make sense? Whats its purpose? I dont see it!
