This is the tune played by Piper Alex Graham of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada as their landing craft ran into the landing beach (Green Beach) at Pourville France during the Raid on Dieppe August 19th 1942.

I am mid reading the book Moon over Malaya this song and Heilin Laddie are mentioned in it when the Argylls retreat from Malaya, its kinda hard to type the feeling I have from listening to this but they are of a very very proud nation who have fought many battles. The Argylls are second to none I have total respect for ANY person who has been in the BRITISH military my job seems mundane compared to what they go through.
@flyup2sky Laddie His Magesty the King Of Jordan has one of the best pipe bands in any army. Trained at the piping school in Scotland. The Pipe/s have been in your area for centuries. I have had the honour of participating in the 2 traditional performances of this song, 1 Marching down the Road in proper regimental order, and clinging to a lamp post wee ma pal singiing at the top of our lungs..
I remembered we played this song in my band, and I loved it. Ironic though, the song clearly is called Hundred Pipers but we played it with brass, winds percussions and others and with no bagpipes lol

The speed's good - it needs to be slow like this. It's funny to hear the English accents - and that's not a criticism.
My grandad sang this , but only 1 line
Hundred pipers ano ano ,< only that line
R.I.P Grandad.
Dieu bénisse les "pippers"!
