We are currently living aboard Sailing Yacht Takaza, next to the largest working prawn port in England! We wanted celebrate the local fishing industry by giving you a full trawler tour and interview with the skipper.

We started our adventure in the summer of 2022 when we made the decision to leave our jobs and move aboard our 28ft boat. We set sail north but were delayed by a series of issues. Now back on track, we are cruising the North East coast of England. Join us as we share our experiences of sailing and living aboard our small boat.

Nice looking boat! But, can you please put American subtitles on this video as we can't understand most of what you are saying. At times it sounds American but then it sounds french or something?? Are you speaking two different languages in this video?

Hi Coleen, thanks for watching. We are all speaking English but there's a few different strong regional accents going on. I've got a Yorkshire accent and Colin the Skipper has a Geordie accent. (North East of England). When we arrived in the NE I struggled to understand the Geordies too.

@@GavinAndJames_LifeAfloat ...very cool. It's funny because you write perfectly. No problems with reading it.
