Hey! That's me, the Gringos! 😂
You can eat the younger beetroot leaves. My Dad used to cut one or two leaves off each plant as an early harvest while you're waiting for the beetroots to be ready. The tops are similar to spinach.
Looks like you got a great harvest!

Yeah that would account for Mandy not picking any of the “Beetroot” in the hoop house! Turns out it was Spinach all along. 🤣🤣

Those are some great looking beets. You did well! My beets are the most anticipated harvest from my garden. I also can mine in a vinegar/sugar syrup and have to ration the jars out thru the year so i have some to get me to the next harvest.

Thank you Arnold! We were very impressed with ourselves. 🤣 I think we planted way too much as we still have a lot more to process. Next season we will secession plant to break up the processing as it gets a bit tedious at times. Tastes just as good as the Beetroot I remember eating as a kid in South Africa. 😁 how long can you store your Beetroot in vinegar? And do you keep it in the fridge?

@@FarmsVilla i process mine by hot water bath canning and storing on a panty shelf, and i missed a jar on my shelf that ended up going over two years before i found it and opened it. Taste was usual and i never had any problems eating it.

@@arnoldreiter435 OK. Mandy also tried 2 jars of hot water canning to keep on the shelf. The rest went into vinegar and brown sugar and into the fridge. It wont last long in there! 🤣Or do you put the beetroot into the jars with vinegar and brown sugar then hot water bath those jars? In case you can't tell we are new to all of this and trying to learn as much as we can as we go. 🙂

Thank you! We were actually quite impressed with ourselves. 🤣 excellent idea apart from the fact none of us here like rabbit meat. Every time I see rabbit meat I think of Thumper. 😳😊 That could explain it. 👍🏻

@@FarmsVilla I love chilli con Bunnie lol .
Rabbit legs cooked using the same Southern fried Chicken recipe is hard to distinguish between Chicken and Rabbit .
In the UK we have the invasive American Grey Squirrel breeding like crazy and killing off our native Red and our rivers are infested with invasive American Crawfish. Both great eating .
Master Butcher Scott Rea is a great wild game cooking channel .
