I think it's really good that you cover improvisation at beginners level. Just like with composition, some people have improvisation blown up into some big thing that only experienced virtuosos can aspire to when it's actually something anyone can do.
Sadly my dad got discouraged when I described his "making up tunes" as composition because he had this idea that you had to be the next Beethoven to even think of doing it. I felt I'd burst his bubble when I didn't even realise he had that bubble to burst.

Thanks for this. I absolutely agree with you that anyone can improvise and sound really good at it, as long as they have their scales down and some kind of a strategy, which is what I’m sharing in these videos.
Maybe your dad’s bubble could have been a bit more robust, may be it was going to burst anyway. Lots of people told me “don’t give up your day job” when I first started playing and went out busking, it just made me more determined to keep practicing and get better. May be you didn’t burst his bubble.

I've been learning to play the saxophone for just over 2yrs and have been progressing nicely. I started on the Alto and have recently progressed to the Tenor. I having recently found your lessons on UA-cam, I have to say, they are a joy to follow, really well delivered and easy to follow. We'll done... I'm now following you..😊
