    My wife got me one for Xmas.
    It has been a game changer. It's my go too practice pad.
    I'm gonna double dip and get the Moongel DBS pad eventually.

    Great video! I got mine a few years ago. It helped with my rudoments flow. Playing on the moongel pad is like running on sand, then change to the drum set and my hands felt way more relaxed and faster and controlled at the same time, I don't know how to explain it. Now, the pad can help but you also have to study the correct way. The pad itself is not going to automatically change your grip technique, finger technique, etcetera. Put the work of this pad and you're gonna see the results. Important: I wouldn't recommend this pad for beginners.

      Agreed! Beginners need an instructor to set them on the correct path technique wise. Then this pad should work wonders.

    I had one in the early ‘90s, but the gel material wasn’t held in place as well as you have demonstrated.

      Good to know the company worked on improving it.

    As a drumset player only (never marching line), I find that practicing on a gum rubber pad is worse than no practice at all. My hands feel totally clumsy on a real kit/snare afterwards. The blue prologic on the other hand has been an amazing pad. It feels exactly betteen the two types of Reflexx pad surfaces, andjust a little bit less lively than a medium snare, and I feel all my practice on it translates immediately to a real kit.

      I can totally agree with your point. I absolutely love the Prologix pads for different things. I think all pads have their place for different styles of playing, and what you're going for technique wise. But Prologix is my sweet spot!

      I don't know anything about that pad. Now I'll need to look it up. Too bad they still don't make it.

    I'd love one but unfortunately In the UK they sell for nearly $90 nearly everything here is over priced and your a bit handy on that pad !!

      Wow! Yeah, that's probably too much. But then again, if it helps you in your playing then it might be worth it? 🤔
      By the way, I was just over your way. Stayed in Letchworth with my girlfriend's family. Beautiful area!

    Kirk....How does no rebound at all help your technique?....Good sales pitch, but not for me.....

    • @KirksDrumRoom
      @KirksDrumRoom  20 днів тому +1

      In my teaching experience students tend to rely too much on the rebound instead of fixing their technique first. Back in the day I would practice all my rebound exercises on a soft pillow to make my hands/fingers do what they were supposed to. Once I had that down it totally cleaned up my rudiments and playing overall.
