You will need to learn all of the Shieldhall test routes before you book your official DVSA practical driving test, particularly in light of the recent driving test changes, this is driving test route no.5.
My advice is to watch the videos more than once; to get a really good idea of the roads you will be asked to drive on and where any pitfalls may occur. You will notice many of the Shieldhall driving test routes overlap with each other meaning some of the roads and junctions are included in multiple test routes.

These videos are the most recently published test routes from the DVSA. The test routes are subject to change periodically, however they rarely change completely it is more likely they will slightly alter. Also if there happens to be a road block ahead; due to road works or an accident for example; your examiner may alter the test route in order to save time or in the interest of fairness for this reason the video should be seen purely as a guide. This means you are not guaranteed to stick strictly to the route in the video.

Are the number names of these videos the official numbers by DVSA? My instructor recommended I download an app called Driving Test Routes so I can use it for private practice but I can't get the numbers they have to match up with these videos. It's not the same as number 5 or number 17 on the app. Not sure if there's any chance you know which one this corresponds to on that app? I'd really like to practice this route before my test on Thursday! 😅

Unfortunately, different resources may use varying numbering systems, and it seems there might be a discrepancy between our video numbers and the app you mentioned.
To help you out, I suggest cross-referencing the landmarks, street names, or key instructions in our video with the corresponding details on your Driving Test Routes app. This way, you can match up the locations and ensure you're practicing the correct route for your upcoming test on Thursday.
If you have any specific details about the route from your instructor, that could also be a valuable resource in identifying the right practice route.
