Hey Tyler!!! I had to pause the video to say that you are a great great teacher, I love your teaching style, you explain the concepts clearly using visual drawings for different scenarios which makes understanding difficult ideas easy. I wish my science and math teachers 30 years ago was half as good as you. All the hard work you put in is so worthwhile, I hope many many young students discover your channel and benefit from it. Thank you Tyler.
I was alone at home watching this video and at 2:26, i heard a creepy sound. So I threw my headphones and searched home for a stranger but then watched it again and realized it was from the video. Still creepy, though
does it and if you take a reading just a fraction before the top of the ball pit there wouldnt be enough of displacement of mercury for a reading but theres still balls there
Whatever you explain is very understandable, with your diagrams and real life references, its great how much you teach in 20 mins compared to other videos. Thanks!
ure amazing at what you do. the video format, the papers you use, the metaphors you make, the way you explain things... everything is so perfect. thought i hated science for 23 years now and you make me realize that i'm actually pretty good at this stuff. would probably take up on more science classes if you taught them dude.
This video was quality, exactly the video i was looking because I couldn't understand what exactly the a value pressure inside say a gas tank actually means. Make sense now. 10/10
This Guy is explaining things very very beautifully and he makes you understand the fundamentals very basics then conceptually explain it i love your channel you wonderful dude 💕 please keep making content im pay u money
In min 6:45 shouldn't the length measured between then difference between the starting point and the displacement of water instead of between the two points?
Atmospheric pressure does not make us move because our lungs exerts the same pressure which is 100 kPa ( force of 10 cars) causing each force cancel resulting in not movement
is the vacuum in the chamber a complete vacuum? if so then wouldnt any pressure on the other end cause the water or mercury to occupy the whole space of where the vacuum was?
but wouldn't the weight of the mercury itself weigh down against the air pressure? And since water is less dense, isn't that why water would go up more?
Great Video! A question? Imagine we had one end of the manometer open to the sea level here on Earth; and the other open to the vacuum of space and we get our reading of 760mm hg, now we remove the mercury; does the gas pressure equalize?
hello! very helpful video. I have a question. So is the pressure of the gas in the tank is the mmHg value without atmospheric gas on the other side or with atmospheric gas on the other side?
In my IGCSE book the definition of boiling point is the temperature at which the pressure of gas created above a liquid equals atmospheric pressure. The question is whether all gases after the boiling point (Ex: Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen) exerts/equals the atmospheric pressure?
At 7.56 why you said that if we use the water it would be a larger distance and would be bigger pressure than mercury??! I knew before that the object that has a bigger density has a bigger pressure because we need more force to act on. Plz answer my question⁉️🔴
Fun fact: if you replaced all air with average ping pong balls and sat at the bottom of it, it would apply 443098.989562 pounds of force (200986 kilos) on every part of your body; enough to crush you in an instant.
I have a request,, can you please explain on linear law,, i know this is not related to chemistry but i really need help in additional maths,,and your explanation on chemistry really helps(w my chem) and i was wondering if you can explain on certain topics in add maths..? Please?
I have a question if i am standing at an outdoor place that is at sea levelis the pressure exerted on me by air the same as that if i were inside a house that is also at sea level?doesn't the roof of the house eliminate almost all the height of the air column? if they are not the same why i don't sense it ? is it owing to the small value of atmospheric pressure?
bro seriously ur cool person best teacher solved all of my confusions wanna give u some money in return for ur lovely teching just i m still a 11th grade student so 0 money bro :(
What kind of relationship does gravity share with the atmospheric pressure? Yet, gravity is greater. Or pressure does not exist in space. Therefore, gravity plays its role.
2:26 I don't know what this sound was but it made my day. 11 years later and this video is still helping students. :)
There is something magical about Tyler's teaching... you just get it first time, with 0 stress.
It's 5:18 AM here! That sound at 2:25 was uncalled for lol
That honestly disturbed me
I am learning about U-Tube on UA-cam
burrheadjr seems like you was watching a U-tube Video?
Are you sure you're not learning about UA-cam on U-Tube?
haha so funny omg *sArcAsM*
I like how your profile pic goes perfectly with your comment

Sir what are different types of Pressures. Like in pressure scale. Found hard to understand everytime I try to learn. Please help me Sir.
What is difference between barometer and nanometer? I'm still confused. Thx

dude that sound scare the methane molecules out of me lol
i laughed out loud at this comment A+
methane molecules, I never thought of that one

lol
that's actually true

Oh my god, that sound is creepy. You're right. It sounds like a light moan.
Yeah, I was looking around for someone near me too. I skipped back a few times and figured out what it was.
I thought I was getting fucking exorcised when I heard that
Yes I paused as well and tried to find the alien under my desk
Luckily i saw this before watching
Best Chemistry tutor EVER!
I'm studying for my MCAT. I love the ballpit example. It really puts things in perspective. You rock.
does it and if you take a reading just a fraction before the top of the ball pit there wouldnt be enough of displacement of mercury for a reading but theres still balls there

Thanks for helping me pass my general organic and biochemistry class! You're great

great video ..... the way you explain is just amazing ... you teaches well than my own teacher 😂
HAHAHAHA! Thanks!
ive watched many many videos of yours this last semester and in this video particularly youre giving off a real swaggy vibe.
i practically learn everything on youtube..thank you SIR

22:26 I had to switch to my personal account instead of my school one JUST to comment about this noise because I could NOT figure out what it was LMAO
Sir you are the best teacher of chemistry.
thank you so much!!!! I've my physics mock exam tomorrow and this cleared out my confusions :D
In min 6:45 shouldn't the length measured between then difference between the starting point and the displacement of water instead of between the two points?
No.
+Tyler DeWitt Is there a cow on your apartment? What's that weird noise on 2:26 ?
Sir.Tyler All the videos are super cool. The only thing is the sound is very low. Pls fix that and you're done .
Atmospheric pressure does not make us move because our lungs exerts the same pressure which is 100 kPa ( force of 10 cars) causing each force cancel resulting in not movement
Thank you Tyler I love to hear easy to understand much better than order tutor. Super!
Was trying to understand for very long but didn't get anything it helped me out thankss a lot to u. Sir u teach very beautifully
Love your videos. Just starting watching them. I hope that this helps me in my chem class I'm taking this semester.
hahahahaha dude that sound is Amazing, i like replayed it like 4 times just so i could hear it again and agian.... i couldent stop laughing :DDD
you teach way better than all my physics lectures in uniport Nigeria❤🤣
You are incredible Tyler DeWitt!
Thank you sir. My book did an incredibly shitty job at explaining this but I instantly got it after watching this video
you're so much better than my chem teacher!!
Yes like my chem teatcher 🤣🤣
My chemistry class feels like my teachers is not even speaking English. I come to your page and learn everything I need to in five minutes
I tried to measure the pressure of my room by putting water in a UA-cam, but it just fried my laptop.
MAN!!!!
Great video!
What happens if we somehow change the u-tubes diameter . Will there be any difference ? (i.e. is the pressure 760mmHg?)
Thank you
Great question! Believe it or not, nothing will change if you adjust the diameter of the tube. The only thing that matters is the height.
Thank you for your reply ! Is there any video of yours that explains this in more detail ?
+Tyler DeWitt Not intuitive. You should mention this in the video.
+Tyler DeWitt the height should change if we change the diameter of that tube thingy 😗 why doesn't it change?
+sarah ghazi The reason is because the greater the diameter of the tube, the more air will be pressing down on the contents of the tube.
what was that creepy sound
squirtle derp lol
I thought I left the pornhub tab open

You are awesome teacher. I really appreciate your effort for making all this stuff for explanation,
Great.
If you didn't figure out why before he explained,
You need to rewatch it
when you increase the pressure of a gas, molecules closer together, its volume reduces but what happens to the temperature?does it reduce or increase?
thank you , can you answer this please ? what kind of alcohol and oil can we use in u tube vacuum gauge instead of mercury ?
Best tutor ever!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!
Isn't barometric pressure the pressure above the atmospheric?
I love how you teach ❤
is the vacuum in the chamber a complete vacuum? if so then wouldnt any pressure on the other end cause the water or mercury to occupy the whole space of where the vacuum was?
i was wondering the same thing. Maybe there's also gravitational force involved?
but wouldn't the weight of the mercury itself weigh down against the air pressure? And since water is less dense, isn't that why water would go up more?

on the mercury the gravity also apply presure but in the equation there is no g i.e V.P=P+delta h

What height of water will produce the same pressure as 120 mmHg?
Thank you so much for a clear explanation. I finally think i understood this! :) Very grateful!

What kind of relationship does gravity share with the atmospheric pressure? Yet, gravity is greater. Or pressure does not exist in space. Therefore, gravity plays its role.

gosh that sound tho
Why mercury is used ina simple barometer
Because mercury is denser than water.
Thanks Tyler.
