Vikram is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who wrote the dialogues with Rathna Kumar. It is produced by Kamal Haasan who stars in the titular role, along with Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil with Narain and Kalidas Jayaram in supporting roles. Suriya makes a cameo appearance. It is the spiritual successor of the 1986 film of the same name and the second installment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

Leo was not the greatest, but it can be seen just for the cafe fight scene itself. 2nd half was a let down especially the flashback.

The camera work you guys are speaking about is the Mocabot. It's a latest AI camera that moves like crazy as programmed. It hasn't been used in Hollywood movies yet for some reason although it's been a few yrs since it was founded in the US.

@@ngultrum1 Mocobot is not specifically made for that drastic zooms it'll be distracting for a more condensed story or CGI heavy movies in your term for Hollywood movies those cams are used more conservatively to not look drastic as it did in Vikram.
Its mostly used for repeated computerized track shots or difficult shots it's been used in almost every marvel movies in CGI scenes for interpreting real plate with CGI or over laping two real plates over each other as it's a computerized technique

Exactly, & that's what makes it so good here. The sheer innovation. Bheeshma Parvam was the first film to do it, but this film mastered the craft, later many films did it too, mainly Indian.
What nonsense, go watch "UPGRADE" it released in 2018 itself and has fights in a similar manner which are 100 times better.
The cop in Kaithi is part of Vikram's team. The chap who says one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Also in the end, they show a construction site with a voice singing from inside a hut. That voice belongs to Karthi, the protagonist from Kaithi.
The crowd went wild in theaters especially for the agent tina scene...

The camera work technology is called moco-bot. Its basically a robotic arm which is used in most manufacturing industries. Its movement is controlled by computer programming. They attached camera in that arm and shot that fight scene.

Yesssssssssss! The next one is LEO!. Vikram was the movie that makes me Kamal (the main actor) and Lokesh (the director) fan but Leo is my favorite of the 3 movies (Kaithi, Vikram and Leo) because is the mix between Kaithi and Vikram, have the raw, characters and emotions of Kaithi but the action, music and camara work of Vikram.
Love u guys...for uploading both parts together at once...just finished watching part 1 ...can't wait for the payoff in part 2 ...❤
The Answer appreciating Kamal Haasan's performance was just testament to his legacy. He is one of the most celebrated and most awarded actor in India with a number of classics to his name and performances that cannot matched. And you guys loving the soundtrack of the film without essentially understanding the lyrics just proves that music has no language. The music was given by Anirudh Ravichander, was appreciated by literally everyone who watched the film. Loved the reaction and love how detailed your reviews after the movie ends. The efforts are amazing to see. Cannot wait for you to react to more such movies.

guys... this is telungu version. original is tamil. But its okay...I know its hard for you guys to differentiate languages esecially south indian one's. so i understand.☺ Also there are some charecters and connections you guys missed. 1)The police officer from kaithi, bejoy is now part of vikram squad. In kaithi he mentioned about his family and in vikram we came to know that he lost them.
1)They didn't show dilli's face but showed his cuffs in one scene.
2) one of the guys that vikram killed in the beggining was actually a charecter from kaithi.
3) In kaithi bejoy he had a team and vikram's son prapanjan was part of it.
guys I knew vikram is gonna be hard for you because of the interconnected plot and all. But I am glad you guys still enjoyed it. I understand its hard to remember the faces and those connections were not direct ones. Its okay. Even without universe connections and references vikram is a good movie.
next one is Leo. Its gonna be easy for you guys🙂 . The story is simple. The cameos and references are more direct. Personally I liked Leo more than vikram. Maybe because of that simple story. Its an introduction of a new major charecter into LCU. ❤

And also things need to know before watching Leo: The story is more focused on character building untill the very end so you can't expect a movie just like Vikram. You need to focus on Vijay's acting and that's the speciality of the movie. Director Lokesh created this film just to focus only on Vijay and how the character behaves. Everything else including the Villains is secondary for him. Also the film is inspired from the novel The history of violence (you might have watched the film as well). I must say actor Vijay (we call THALAPATHI VIJAY) did an incredible job in this film. And as a Vijay fan, iam super proud to say that. Thank you for reading ❤

Lokesh never said universe will end with Vikram 2 you low IQ Monkey, don't spread wrong information. Also don't say "maybe Leo 2" you CHILDISH ingrate, Leo 2 is confirmed. Rolex movie is the only one Lokesh hismelf hasn't confirmed yet but Suriya claimed is being developed. Actually Suriya slate after Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga, is unknown as of yet. So the correct order would be
1. Kaithi 2
2. Leo 2
3. Vikram 2
4.Rolex Spinoff (not confirmed yet by Lokesh)
5.Unanmed Series
Lokesh has said he is interested in trying out a tv show format similar to Marvel/Star Wars type shows so that is in consideration as well.

Leo(2023) is the third installment of LCU ,available in Netflix
Two connections.
One is at end.
Another is the first black squad member who got captured by Amar was the police who was in "Kaithi" with the prisoner who safeguarded the drugs from bad guys. After that his family gets murdered and he joins this squad which is what he says in that integration.

I don’t know how many times I watched this reaction. Damn their insights on every tiny bits and details are amazing. I just appreciate their knowledge and focus on the details and you know this movie is bit messy in terms of navigating back and forth and some references from other movies it’s even tough for native people to get them while watching first time. But you guys got everything and enjoyed each part and shots thank you for your works fellas. kamal Hassan who played Vikram here is Veteran Actor. He is 69 year old now (movie came out in 2022)
They also tribute his MOVIE SAME NAME - VIKRAM 1986 & same bgm (upgraded here)
Thats why it feels like throwback to old age cinema.

It goes to show that even people with limited exposure to Indian soundtracks can end up loving them on 1st listen. The music in Leo is also amazing, it even makes up for some flaws and gives the movie a good rewatch value!! The composer Anirudh Ravichander is known to be one of the best in the country. He is a prodigy, starting delivering bangers at 20, he's now 33.
When Answer mentioned that Kamal crushed it with his acting, well you guys should know that Kamal is basically considered a living legend among actors. Funny, I haven't seen people mention it in the comments. I guess everyone is fixating on the language thing lol 😄🤭
The other 2 actors, Fahadh Faasil (Amar) and Vijay Sethupathi (the villain) are considered among the best in the country (personally I would say in the world!).
To see more of Fafa you could watch the Telugu masala *Pushpa* , it's one of those over the top action ones but with a good story and unique protagonist. Fafa plays the villain introduced towards the end, as part 2 drops next year.
One of his most iconic movies is *Kumbalangi Nights* , it's very renowned but I don't know how you guys would like a quiet but original, unique dramedy? It's about 4 estranged brothers. I think it's full on UA-cam with subs.
To see more of VJS you can watch *96* if you're up for a romantic drama, about school sweethearts meeting again at a school reunion 20 years later. Obviously a highly different role from his role in Vikram 😄 He is very versatile. He also has a very likeable vibe I think that is why you almost felt like rooting for him in some moments in Vikram 😊
You can also watch the thriller/dark comedy *Super Deluxe* where he plays a transwoman. The cast also includes the older queen from Baahubali in a much different role, as well as Fafa actually! It's considered one of the best Indian movies of the past few years. It's a wild ride!
And of course you can see VJS as the antagonist in *Master* , Lokesh Kanagaraj's standalone action drama before he started the LCU. He stars opposite Vijay Joseph (nicknamed Thalapathy which means Commander), the lead actor in Leo. So Master would probably be a good watch after you've seen Leo 😊
For Kamal a movie that you could watch is his action thriller *Vishwaroopam* . He also directed it. Very original movie and you get to see his versatility too.
But my main recs remain *Thallumaala* (normally on Netflix in the US), "ballad of brawls", my fav movie in 2022 alongside RRR and Vikram, and the few other recent Tamil blockbusters I mentioned in my other comment 😊
I hope that for 2024 you guys can do at least 2 Indian movies a month because there is a ton for you to watch 😁
Another Kaithi connection is one of the black ops guy who amar and his team arrest. He was the police officer in kaithi. He lost his wife and family at the hands of rolex between kaithi and vikram. Left the force and joined vikram's team

Please watch whiplash. It’s a top 10 movie for sure and the acting is amazing and the plot is amazing. I’m sure many people would love it too. It stars miles teller and includes J. K. Simmons and Paul Reiser.
Gem of a movie. The characters in that movie are so refreshing. Nobody's good or bad. They are all right in their own way. And the drumming was insane, that goes without saying

1.The narcotics officer got killed in the very beginning by the masked guy was the inormer(helping bad guys) on kaithi
2.The man amar caught on the chase with van and bikes was bejoy (the police officer from kaithi)
3.And as you know the end connection with dilli

the masked man whom amar captures and interrogates and he says his family died before his eyes was same policer officer from "kaithi" whose hand was fractured and who was helping get the other police officers to hospital. he lost his family because of the drug bust in that movie.
