13 years later Gebrselassie set a world record in the marathon (2:03:59). All of his records have been broken but his accomplishments are still incredible. He still has the 2nd fastest times ever in the 5000 and 10000.
Its funny how the guy who came 2nd was stalking sellaise and when sellaise sprinted even he sprinted behind him and soon in seconds he realised his level and started looking out for who hes compiting for 2nd place 🤣
@@E1472 I agree that Mo doesn't compare to the likes of Geb and Bekele, but let's not swing the pendulum the other direction. His personal bests are 12:53 and 26:46, so he isn't slow. He's a terrific competitor and tactician. There's more to distance running than times. All that being said, I agree he's overrated by those who look at the medal count and put him right there with the great Ethiopians who preceded him in dominating those events.

Actually Bekele has 2 more times faster than Geb in addition to the WR. But yes Geb is the 2nd fastest 10k and 5k runner ever.
